Great walkthrough as always. Planet Hollywood always has a nice vibe. If you’re going to Vegas for the first time this is the perfect hotel to stay in location wise and with miracle mile shops being attached. We gotta get another live stream soon!
I stayed there a couple of years ago and thought the same thing about the second floor being a waste of space. It felt strange also. They should pot more casino space and bars up there
Stayed for a week, last November, week before F1. Loved our room! Whole comped and were upgraded, resort fees comped at end of stay. Returning in September, and upgraded. Our host is great!
Really looks nice in there. The refresh turned-out great! I think if you were to go to that Mezzanine Level during a conference, you’d see lots of booths, food and conversation areas set-up for attendees who then attend sessions inside the various conference-rooms. The area does look desolate during down times, but that area’s vital to attract conferences that spend quite a chunk of change at the property.
Enjoyed this video! I will say as a yearly repeat customer since 2003 one of my favorite things was the anticipation before check in, then getting personal attention by a human agent. The $20 trick never failed us, even without the $20 part, we always got a fabulous upgrade. The casino at this place never took off, nor did the business center area. One time they had a boxing ring in the middle of that area where Mike Tyson would train. Other than that, wide open. There was (is) a Wedding Chapel up there too.
Great walkthrough video. Awesome how you do the overlay with the casino map and interesting facts. Would love to see you do a video at Southpoint casino.
The best thing for us at Planet Hollywood is the fact that it's connected to the Miracle Mile, which is FULL of cheap eating options. Ocean One Grill, Blondies, Ketchup Bar, Flights, etc...all have great cheap eating options. Earl of Sandwich is very convenient if you are hanging out in the sportsbook and want a cheap sandwich. Just sneak across and get the sandwich and take it back to your seat at the sportsbook. Great job on the tour/review! They need to bring back the dancers at the blackjack tables!! The Pleasure Pit!!!
Nice video Jordan! I would set up a miniature golf putting course in that mezzanine space. The vibe appears very vibrant at the property. I was there in the old Aladdin several times and always felt like you were intruding by the attitude of the gaming staff! Fortunately, it appears to be a much more positive vibe based on your video. I look forward to visiting the property. Thank you for all your hard work in showing us around the different properties in Las Vegas!
In the southwest corner of the casino near Yolo’s there used to be an escalator to nowhere! Not sure if it still stands there, but it actually led to the “Gallery” nightclub with a Pussycat Dolls bar right in front. It was a fun spot years ago
Striphouse is pretty decent. They have a barrel-aged Old Fashioned that creeps up on ya. It's owned by Frititta, who is building the Post Oak next door, so it will be interesting to see if it will stay. Hopefully, he won't do the same restaurant plan as the Golden Nugget properties. It will likely have a Post Oak restaurant that would be a competing steakhouse. PH is the reason we are now MGM players and stayers. I know I give you guys some crap about Caesers, and PH is why. We stayed there from the closure of HR till about 2+ years ago; we changed with all the check-in issues, the complete lack of customer service, and the rooms having progressively gone downhill. PH was for sale, and nothing ever happened, so it's interesting to see what Caesers does with it. The only plus Is being so close to the ABC store. We now get comps all the time from MGM and never got any love from PH and spend the same amount. Great video!!!!
I stayed here in December, and I swear no matter how many times I went up and down I had a heckuva time finding the north elevators. I had to look up to the Mezzanine level when in the casino in order to get my bearings.
PlanetHollywood 👍been staying there at that resort lately past couple of visits to las vegas. Was giving upgraded room and was same room in north tower on think on 50 or 51 floor anyway with judge dread memorabilia. Ok no resort fees because wife and I are rewards members.
Thanks for the injections of th places as you walked. As well as the map. Helped a lot. Something needs to go up there. In addition to replacing the Koi space. Lot of space up there. How about combining with F1 and do a replica of the Vegas Strip F1 race with mini F1 cars?
Didn't know that Planet Hollywood was the former Alladin Hotel and Casino. I visited Las Vegas for the first time in 1994 and stayed at the Alladin. As for the mezzanine at Planet Hollywood, I think they should put the high limit room or a nightclub.
@ShowMeVegas I came in July, 1994. I arrived after 11:00PM, and it was still above 90 degrees. I had to take several layers off once I got outside the airport.
Staying there next month, I've read some recent very poor reviews on trip advisor about lack of room cleaning and poor customer service, I really hope to be pleasantly surprised.
Nice walkthrough. I stayed here many times when it was first the new Aladdin. Then during changeover to PH, I went to Paris several times (I'm a Caesars player). For my next trip I'm considering staying at PH again. The location on the strip and Miracle Mile is great. Hey, did you happen to see the blackjack payout whether it was 6:5 or 3:2? I'm reading online that almost all the strip hotels are now 6:5 (because sucker players didn't refuse it!). I'm a 100% accuracy basic strategy player and we know we can NEVER play 6:5 (the house edge is tripled). It's so sad that Vegas has ruined blackjack for anyone wanting to play hands under $100 (which is what I hear has 3:2 - people don't think that the higher limits are the smarter players and they will refuse to play 6:5 like me). It looks like Vegas may only have 3:2 in downtown now for $25 hands or less.
That big empty area looks like a good place for some indoor soccer with the kids just don’t kick it over the edge. Seriously though maybe miniature golf?
Vegas being Vegas we know it’s constantly changing and money is no object to PH so that wasted space could be turned into some new bars…as PH doesn’t have a huge selection but everything from Cocktail, Beer Specials, variety of live music during the day almost to the stage of a full on daytime music bar but like $50 entry all you can drink & local DJ’s on rotation there’s enough clubs looking after the big names already give the little guys a platform 👌🏻
Again, another stellar tour. The Ramsay buger joint actually makes one hell of a burger. Stay away from those rum drinks that dangle around ur neck...lol
Stayed here last time I was in Vegas last August did get to eat at Cafe Hollywood food was OK nothing special. Also ate at Earl of sandwich maybe the best sub sammich I have ever had. And yes it is confusing to walk thru. The "convention area" could be better served as maybe a food court
Great video as always!! Personally I think they should use the convention center space to line up the bulldozers and tear the place down. The way most people on here feel about Luxor is how I feel about PH…My wife and I thought it would be a good idea to cut through there leaving The Cosmo to use their ride share area on our way to try out Fountain Blu when it first opened back in January and it took us 40 minutes wandering around aimlessly before we found someone who gave us any half useful directions and I just remember that carpet was an absolute killer! I could not roll my suitcase for the life of me through the carpet and I had to just end up carrying the bags aimlessly until we finally found the underground place we needed. The casino seemed dirty and unimpressive and it just left a bad taste in my mouth between the lack of customer service you expect at the MGM properties which seems nonexistent at Cesar ones and overall shabby look of the hotel in geberal.. Just one man’s opinion.
I've always had a good time at PH. The mezzanine location for Striphouse and Koi is a recipe for closure tho. There is zero foot traffic. I've only ever gone up there purposely to go check out those spots when staying on property. They need something fun to draw people up to the level. I like the pop up fun facts in the video too, good job! It reminds me of the old MTV Pop-Up Video show 🫧
