For every problem there is an opportunity. That was the case when WPAC’s planning committee was faced with the challenge of showcasing bioenergy to nearly 300 guests attending our first-ever Maritime Bioheat Conference.
Two years ago, we would have arranged a tour to take guests to the forest to the plant and ultimately to the end-users - the facilities using bioheat. As we all know, Covid has challenged us in many ways to be more innovative.
For our members, the solution became obvious: produce a short video to kick off the conference. The result is this short six-minute video that highlights the power of pellets -- not only for meeting heating and energy needs, but as a way to support healthy local economies and forests. The business case is clear - 90% of the heating costs associated with wood pellets stays in the region: creating employment and displacing fossil fuels.
I hope you will view the video and share it with colleagues, community leaders and customers. Click here to visit the Maritime forests, take a spin on a harvester or watch how pellets are made and finally check out how local institutions are using pellets to create reliable bioheat while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. A huge thank you to the stars of the video from Grand River Pellets Limited and Biomass Solutions Biomasse (BSB).
Every day our pellet is sector is transforming energy and contributing to strong communities while providing an efficient and affordable fuel source that is helping to alleviate energy poverty. WPAC is proud of its members and the work that is being done every day to advance the industry in so many important ways.

Hello. I'm electrical engineer in Cameroon work for a wood pellets's company CGG SA who produce around 40 000T/year. I'm so proud to have experience on a bigger plant

Should be sending the pellets to the energy plant in England!

British Columbia does the same thing while clearcutting large swaths of our province, you can see the damage while flying over the province, and it all goes to Britain to power their populations needs.

I did a little research into this one and found that a lot of the wood is pine beetle infested so not much use for timber but great for pellets.

What happens to wood pellet production if the demand for lumber goes down and due to lack of demand a lot of sawmills shut down?

Oh you must not say that. Stick to the propaganda! Imagine folks who are so non-intelligent that they believe this wood pellet system is good for the planet. 🤦‍♂️🤣... Majority ends up in UK.. coz the UK taxpayer hands drax MILLIONS of £ every day! Utterly shambolic and disgraceful.

How many of those plants are owned by Drax Pinnacle ? and how much is shipped for power station fuel in the UK? Im a great believer in pellets I do use your products but have some concerns as to how much we are shipping to the UK

This is supposed to be greener than me gathering wood around my house and burning it in a stove? I don't think so. Sure it's good to reuse the leftovers of lumber production. But it's no solution for most parts of the world that are far from lumber production.
