the cleaning efficiency of the Maytag dish washer (Model number MDB4949SDZ0, type: 577-1) was compromised, so I took it apart and cleaned each part. There is more debris than i expected. Hope this could help you a little bit in any way.
Just a comment to help others: the screen on the accumulator (big circle piece) looks like it comes off to be cleaned inside. Instead it’s glued on so if you try to pry it off like I did, you will need to order a replacement part!

Thank you soooo very much! Just a few pieces of stuck shredded chicken can really kick up a stink! We don’t eat a lot of stringy beef but I bet it would do the same. Like other commenters, I struggled but never really got the non-removable filter/screen clean.
