Thanks so much for this video. I had never opened a smart phone before, despite having the right tools for the job, and you explained things clearly and relatively quickly. Nobody in town would fix an S10 for me, but thanks to you, I was able to do it myself. Will definitely check you out if I need more repair tips down the line!

Excellent video took me just over an hour because every component was glued down. I bought the whole frame. So I wouldn't have to pry off both sides. Saved 150$ doing it myself and got original parts
@@chrisd5758 not really, I had to obliterate it with isopropyl alcohol. I applied a new coat of PVA and used electrical tape when putting the battery back
@@JeromeBeckett really? I just finished mine did it in about an hour I just ordered a new back glass with pre installed adhesive, luckily the iphone repair kit I have did just the job. Spent about $220 in total but much better than $350 I was quoted.

Thanks to you I can give a second life to my old S10. It took me literally 1h and I've used an hairdryer as per your suggestion.
@@starfieldblonde131 I destroyed the whole phone had to get it repaired at a shop. I'm good with hands on stuff but if you dont have the proper tools you're out of luck .
Me too I destroyed my phone because I don’t have heating tool. I was only supposed to replace the battery but I cracked the screen because I thought that prying it apart is easy as it looks on the video. I end up replacing the screen too and after that it works fine again. This is not really advisable if you don’t have tools.
Wow...I've done a few phone screen repairs using tips from RU-vid but after seeing this on the s10 I am thinking 300 bucks to have a pro do it sounds better this time around.
Excellent video. I just used this to replace frame with screen on my broken Samsung S10. Still a very good phone even by today's standards with the newer phones. I'm pretty handy with fixin' stuff, but it helps a lot when I don't have to worry about which screws to remove or what part will come up without breaking (for instance when there's some hidden clip I needed to know about).
Helpful video, thankyou. Dog chewed my S10 the other day, so I wanted to get it apart to inspect the damage before spending money on a new screen and back cover!
@@claudineannevictoriaelpede3177 It lasted another 4 years, I finally replaced it a couple of months ago, the graphics chip on the motherboard was failing. Bought another secondhand S10! :D

Hello, I have 2 s10 Galaxy phones, one has a broken screen. Can I just replace the motherboards? I wouldn't play with the screen, it's too sensitive. I only need pictures and videos. And that's all on the motherboard? Am I right? Thanks in advance for the answer.

@@CanadianBakin42O You should really heed your own advice, not accounting for human error or pure unfortunate situations is a definite sign of a lack of common sense, friend. We're all human and some of us are bound to make mistakes or happen into unfortunate situations; not everyone carries their phone around in a styrofome cement block with in-built suspension for their misshaps. Also just picking through some of your videos I see I'm talking to a real "special" guy here so maybe I shouldn't be so bold to assume you have much sense at all, let alone common sense. Got the same problem too, sent it for repairs and those guys had the audacity to tell me that the screen absorbed a shock on the inside. They asking me to pay for screen replacement when it's still has 2 yrs warranty.

Now I will go ahead and buy a tempered glass for my screen...should have done that in the first place :( i think OP removed the video with S10 plus so I had to use this one by the way.
You'll lose much of the waterproofing if you do it. Most likely to the point where it's pretty much effectively not water proof or risky to assume that it is. It might be "water resistant" not waterproof. So stay clear of water Lol
first phone ive broken, my second phone, first hand a beefy case, this on has a slim one. a line of screwy pixels in the center of the screen and a fuster cluck of cracks spreading from the same area. hopefully my parents got it covered, otherwise im stuck with it until it breaks more when i will probably just get a shitier phone again
For me the problem isnt the crack the crack is on the edge and its small doesnt really bother me but my screen doesnt register my touch so i need a screen replacment
Unless you are a Guru and have destroyed a few phones, do yourself a favor, spend the $$ and buy the digitizer. Trust me it is not worth saving a few bucks. Make life easy. I'm doing this repair right now but with new digitizer OEM with battery. Just swap out motherboard and all the goodies. Used an iron in lieu of hot plate, flipped upside down with rag on top works like a dream, hair dryer handy to give the edges a quick hit.
Thanks Guy, but if I ever apply for a cell phone assembly job or is stranded on Gilligans Island, I'm sure this knowledge will come in handy. Meanwhile I think I'd just buy another phone!
Replaced my S10plus phone's AMOLED screen, with vertical green lines that appeared recently with a TFT screen with frame. The phone becomes thicker and heavier the screen sensitivity is a little less so typing needs to be a little slower..even after turning up sensitivity a little higher. There is no finger print sensor..thats o.k..the wake up screen with 2 taps does not work so is screen capture by swipe...but the screen switching off by 2 taps does work. While removing the internal speaker from the original frame..it broke (replacement is about US$2..and battery removal was the toughest and it started with some sprks and smoke!..so one needs to work with eye goggles and near outdoor excess... so an OEM replacement battery about US$10. Another problem that took a long time to solve was when replacing the black wireless charger "flaps"...that looks likebcardboards with some leads the problem was when the contacts were not exact with the screws the charge display shows a temperature yellow triangle because of the battery temperature (??)..and the phone will not charge the battery..so after many tries i left out one screw on the wireless charge flap and the charge problem got solved.😢
Where can i buy the s10 screen? How much will the glassscreen cost me? What is the most difficult and sensible part? Where i need to take care the most? Cos i really dont want to break anything...
@@lilfish1993 I just typed in s10 replacement screen on Google and it said Samsung official screen is 960 . Didnt do to much research tho .was just wondering how much incase I crack my screen because its inevitable lol
@@FreakOfSc2andHomerJ Samsung Aust is quoting AUD $300.00. This is an estimate dependent on damage beyond the screen. I broke my S10 screen 14 days after purchase, ouch! So I hope this helps you. 👍
Hi, Is the g975f screen compatible with the g975u screen. I have a g975u china import with a bad screen, here in europe I can only find the g975f screen but all the selles are saying its not compatible, is it compatible or not?
