Thank you for the lighting tips. I rarely ever do portraits, but even when I do, it's of myself. I suppose now is a good time to get better at taking portraits of myself. My two favorite primes, that I own, are a 50mm f/1.8D,and a 60mm Micro f/2.8D, so I will start with those.

@4;06 Most kit lenses are on average f3.5-f5.6 so using f8 is more of the sweet spot of many lenses! I feel like using f8 was slightly misleading. Still good advice
@thatjordandrake
@thatjordandrake 4 года назад
A lot of people shooting with just the kit lens will have APS-C cameras, so we thought shooting at F8 gives a good approximation to the DOF most crop shooters will have with kit lenses.

Slick, efficient video. Thanks. Do all videos include a "Shot on Camera X" statement? Is that in a searchable metadata field? That'd be a satisfying search for camera capabilities. Finally, I got some actionable information here. Right on. --------------- Edit: I had no idea. Didn't find anything from this channel, but plugging in my primary body got me feeling idiotic for having failed to seek these results before. Do it, y'all. No matter what you shoot.
