A few years ago, I completely restored my dads old axe and got a handle for it. I spent a good week working on it and made sure I did it right. It was one of the best projects I've ever done and really enjoyed it. You must always take your time doing something if you want it to turn out great.

The people who are meant to support you will remain with you. There is more at play here, and you, young man, are not in control of this. I have so much gratitude for you mate, I feel the connection to universe after losing my dad 2yrs ago on the 25th of May at 54 I don't know why but I fell in love with tree work and learnt how to except everything, I realised how short life is to not do the things you love and not to care what people think, you have been a massive help and part of my healing process, Thank you buckin✊️ you are a great man✊️

I have one ax I brought back from the death camp. Made my own curved handle from some wood we cut down - anyway I noviced it bad one day and multi split the handle all the way down on a full hurl overhit. So later I glued it up and sanded and fiberglassed it, it took great, now I'm going to have to check the balance and if it isn't like that I'm going to weld bead layers on the backside till she balances.

There are different balance points for different types of axes and there intended uses.....I am like you and like an ax to lay flat instead of dropping ....no matter what I do with it. .an ax that lays flat is ment to be a fellers ax....an ax that drops is ment for bucking or lobbing limbs....thin profile for making chips fly....thick profile for splitting....broad axes for humeimg logs for cabins....there is a right tool for every job!!!

As you know Buckin is not the kind of guy who wants to be weak with injury. He's come through lots of pain and rehabilitation from the big smash. Once we hit around the 50 yrs old mark the healing takes longer. My main personal trainer guy is constantly saying to me " you're not 20 anymore" and that one line puts me in my place. I keep hoping that Buckin finds a trigger point muscle therapist to do some treatment for the shoulder. It has proven to be highly effectual for many injuries. I would like to go into the arena (of RU-vid) but Buckin has set the bar pretty high. "It's not work if you call it a workout" ✅

I have had a strong connection with you for awhile. I started working in Provincial Parks, then moved to tree service, now Municipal Arborist. My Dad lived up the road at the corner of Hemer and Woodbank, and I always think about one day saying hi in person whenever I drive through Cedar. Keep on putting out that awesome content. Welding a pull on a tassie is an awesome idea! If I had a welder I'd be heading out to the shop right now! I hope you do it and would be curious to see how it works.
I have a lot to learn about hafting axes. I replace the handle a less than a year ago and the head is loose. Going to replace the handle and try again with things I’ve picked up from you and reuse the first handle on a smaller axe head.
Buckin, see a Dr for your shoulder bud. I had to have my right one done in 2020 and I know what happened to that shoulder. But then half way through 2022 my left shoulder started acting up bad. I just had surgery and when they got in there they found a lot of damage that my right shoulder didnt have. They had to cut my bicept loose and reattach it. You may have a really serious problem. And you could be in recovery already and getting better to swing an axe or use a powersaw. Give it some thought bud. You have used your body your whole life. Hard use! Get it fixed and dont look back. Just my $.02. God bless you buddy!
Hello! Which felling wedges do you recommend when you need a really thick wedge? For big trees that lean in the wrong direction or similar. I don't like to put several wedges on top of each other. Buckin it just touches my soul to watch you pair the axes with the right handle to create that balance! Would love to get my hands on one of those wood bullets! How does one get their hands on one? i have just acquired 2 2-man cross-cut saws for me and my kids to work on three big trees in the back forty. Would love to have one of those to split the wood once we have it pieced out. Keep spreading the good message!!!
