I remember Jimmy Edwards in a radio and TV programme called "Whacko". It would not see the light of day now.

The one quote I always remember when I think about this radio show is Pa Glum's comment after inspecting Eth's new dress. "It doesn't suit your figure and that's flat"

Janet Scott. Some humour hasn't withstood the test of time but this one survived better than many others. Of course many were based on the current events and important items from the post war era are unknown to later generations.

jrgboy Thank you. I never saw a pic of Wallis Eaton. This radio show was at the centre of my chilhood! As you'll probably guess, I now have the OBE..Over Bloody Eighty.

Funny shows and always made me laugh, up there with the greats of comedy, present batch of "comedians" can't hold a light to this kind of humour.
