I was watching and wondering if I've seen this video before because it looked so familiar, then realized you're in my neighborhood haha. I'm off Weir Canyon. If you see a white SS 1LE with a chop, give a wave.
Car looks nice. I have a 22 SS1LE I got last august. I will say from my experiance as detailing for the past 18years. a 2 step was 100% not needed on a brand new car and if they pushed that then they just wanted to charge more. A quick paint enhancement would have cleaned up any minor marks on the paint. You should have done it yourself and coated it yourself. its nothing to be afraid of and very easy to do. Shops like to make it seem like its a scary processes so they can charge a ton for it. Save yourself alot of money and get some experiance for when you have another car you want to do this to.
100%, agreed. A few weeks eariler I had done the 1 step and ceramic coating on the LT1 that I had just bought. Took me 3 evenings of labor to get the job done correctly (1st night decon, 2nd polish, 3rd finish polishing + apply coating). I am very OCD when it comes to detailing, and didn't want to take on another correction and coating on the new blue SS. I've got a very busy work and family life, so it takes a real effort for me get the time to make it happen. This time around I let my check book do the correction.
Hi quick question for you relating back to your previous car. Where did you get those wheels ? The ones in your intro video of your Mercedes. They seem like the ones that come from the C63 with that center lock look but did they come with the car or bought elsewhere ?
Correct, they were from a C63. Factory forged wheels that I had powder coated in gloss black. In my opinion, they were the best looking set up that I had on the car, and regretted selling them.
Well...depends on if you can hold out for a private sale on the car and get the maximum sale price on the car. I got the white car under sticker price, so that certainly helped, but still lost thousands on the quick sale.
