Is it insane for me to want someone to release a CD of the Magicians cast singing cover songs? Even better, a DVD of just the scenes of them singing recut as music videos.
the bits that Eliot, specifically, sings are what get me. Q's face when he hears/sees Eliot, god he looks so happy to see that it *is* Eliot. and how El breaks right after saying 'shying away'. this whole ending f'ed me up in the worst way.
3:35-3:40 made wanna cry harder. The face Quinton made was really heart wrenching. He showed how much sadness and happiness there was in his emotions. Edit: Especially the fact that he has helped them so much in so many ways. And brought us, the viewers, through so many adventures. Its sad to see him go, but when one story ends, another is bound to begin.
After reading a tvinside articile, watching this scene just aches even more...Jason (Quinn) said other than himself, writers/director knew that this was not only Qunn’s death but, also Jason’s departure from the series. The rest of the cast didn’t know he was leaving the show..so, Cast assumed that next season they’d try to find a way to bring Quinn back. Campfire scene was Pure emotion from Jason knowing that this was not only just the death of his character but that last time he’d be working on the show with his friends 😭
I actually started crying when Eliot threw the peach into the fire. And when he was holding hands with Alice both devastated. And just when Eliot was freed, they didn’t even meet again properly. And now Q is gone forever and Eliot has been through so much, and he just can't get a break. ... I'm not crying again, you are!
heirhelle I know Eliot was possessed for months . Then he was finally himself and then Quentin died . I wonder if Eliot Remeber what the monster did. Honestly the last half of the episode killed me . I really wanted Quentin and Eliot he together . Eliot deserved better . Eliot will never be the same .I am devastated that Eliot and Quentin did at least reunite .
This was the best and saddest and most heart wrenching moment. This was the prefect goodbye, but my heart broke when Elliot came in and you just saw on Q's face how happy he was to see his friend alive... but for us to know they will never get reunited... that broke me.
This show is raw, life is raw. Life has very little filter and that typically only happens when we are young and our parents, if we are lucky, prepare us to eventually deal with that. This show is about what is real and the pain of unfulfilled goals, regrets we carry, and bitter love that is unfulfilled in the end, is a fact of life. No matter what we do, we have things that we regret and will wish we could change, yet oddly enough the show pulls a clear irony on us that we are not Magicians and even if we were...we are still human.
The show won't be the same without Quentin! I hope there's a change of heart if the series continues to be successful in future series...he was the main character.
This would have to be the best hero death in t.v. history! And I know t.v.. Sad is not the word for it. It broke my heart! Dont get me started on The song! Omg i would have never thought. It was perfect! Slowing a song down and adding context. I say very well done. This show is my favourite I have not been this pleased with a show in a very very long time. Supernatural Vampire diaries The following Umbrella Academy Charmed True blood Secret circle Grimm G.O.T. SABRINA Legacies Deadly class Timeless HAVEN UNDER THE DOME MAGICIAN'S IS THE BEST SYFI SHOW ON T.V. AND I REALLY HOPE IT CONTINUES FOR MANY MORE SEASONS TO COME.
Not that it takes away from the poignancy of the moment, but Deadpool 2 did it first (sung by a-ha). Hate to say it, but I thought Jade Tailor's singing wasn't the best fit for the song, particularly in the last verse. IMHO she should have kept the melody simple and pure, instead of singing like she was showing off the fact that she's a trained singer. It looks like the showrunners are open to the possibiliy of Q coming back if the story calls for it, but for all intents and purposes, he's been written off the show.
jC3drums I agree! Deadpool 2 did it first! And something about this song in those scenes, I cried both times! I actually downloaded the acoustic aha version on the way home from seeing Deadpool 2.
I'm… interested to see how the show moves forward after this. I'd be equally fine with Quentin staying in the Underworld or coming back. But I'm going to miss Q, if we never see him again. We all will.
I'm old enough to remember when this song first came out, and never would have chosen it for a moment such as this. It's so amazing. I will never hear it the same way again.
I just finished this season on Netflix 💯😢 . And I have to say this was very touching😭😭😭😭 . A fitting Tribute to Quentin Coldwater🌹 Low King of Fillory Friend, and Savior 😢💙👑

Darn it Elliot and Q. Elliot shot the Monster so Q wouldnt have to be the Warden, and now Q sacrifice himself just for Elliot to be back (Of course Elliot already back the moment they hit him with the Axe, but the entire Season was about Q finding a way to stop the Monster, which actually already starting to see the beauty in the mundane world.
I knew someone of the many cast was going to die...but I hopped it wasn't Quentin, even though in my gut at the time I thought the show was ending and it made the most sense. I know it is selfish of me, but I literally wanted any other cast member besides Quentin to die. Penny, Elliot, Margo, hell even Julia and Alice would have hurt less. But now I understand that in real life, death is never something you can cheat and sacrifices must be made for the greater good. Especially something as huge and reality altering as bringing magic back in full force. I know it is just a show and maybe I am making a bigger deal of this then I should, but this show really is something special. Lets hope the following season continues to inspire and reveal more about life in its full raw unfiltered form.
Super emotional episode but can't help but be disappointed that Q and El didn't even get the chance to say a word. Actually sucks so much I don't know if I want to watch without Q i'm sooo conflicted at the moment. I agree with the people saying it wasn't the best writing, they've played up this whole Queliot thing forever and it's never gunna pay off? feel like shows are just trying to fuck with people since Game of Thrones became popular. Even that got worse as the seasons went on besides 8 so far I guess.
Do people really think Quentin is permanently dead? 😐 Julia got her powers back for a reason. I see the potential for an epic quest where Julia and Penny travel to the underworld and beyond to bring Q back. The old gods do owe them all a favor.
Unfortunately Jason confirmed ufficialy to be out of the show 😭 i'm so disappointed, i hate and love this. I'm still going to watch next season but it won't be the same without Quentin 😔 Julia became just a magician again but not a God.
There's a statement of the in the higher powers (official Twitter) where they tell that they've brought 2 characters back from death, and basically a 3rd one would just make a joke of death in the show. .. So they went the perma-death way to make things un-comic-like. They talked it not only with the actor , but with Lev Grossman to be sure it would work further down the road.
Damn so Q’s story is over. This was the best possible ending for his character. He came full circle and became the hero he always wanted to be. Man this opens up some serious potential for the story but it is hard to imagine the show without him. My favorite character is Margo so hopefully we continue to see her leading the story.
True and I think tht whole magical lake tht the librarian is too no to play a part somehow . dnt kno if anybody else noticed but there was water coming out of the mirror when alice and penny looked back . I know they said he basically evisorated . but this is magicians .
Best scene in a TV episode EVER. It’s up there for me with the last scene of Scrubs S08 and the Family Ties scene where Alex and Ellen confess their love for each other in the train station.
Fogg looks like he lost his son, Julia looks like she lost his brother and Alice and Eliot holds hands to support each other I mean wow I don't know what to say.
Alice gave a cup that Q fixed at myochovskys when he found out his discipline was repairing small objects. Julia was gonna throw his deck of playing cards but then something beautiful happened when she tossed the cards.
