Gadd's drumming is so darned tasteful! He structured his solo to sound like a steam locomotive starting up down the line and eventually reaching full throttle! Genius!
Not at all. Just linear drumming, classic funk grooves and licks, then the famous Right Left Kick and Right Left Right Kick, which he always ends up with… Nothing to do with any train bro…
Great version. Such a cool groove for this. Duke must be smiling! Pity there is no credit for the trumpet, sax, and bone. They are also excellent. Does anyone know who they are? Ah... C'est tellement énorme par la qualité individuelle de ces trois monstres, par le respect et la passion qu'ils se portent, par le ciment du travail qui les relie, ils se comprennent en un temps et parfois même plus vite. Même les cuivre apportent en quelques mesures polies leur écot. Même Steve ne fait pas du Gadd et renouvelle son style de chorus. Je préfère écouter qu'écrire ;0)

It's almost unfair how AMAZING Michel's solo is. The energy is astounding, all musicians are amazing and kudos to the piano at 7:57, easily my favorite part
