Go behind the scenes on gameday of some of the biggest collegiate marching band programs in the country. Take The Field season 2 explores the people and hard work that make gameday so memorable for the bands and fans at USC, Texas A&M, West Chester, Florida and Michigan. Filmed during the 2019 season.
Thanks to the support of DeMoulin Bros and Ultimate Drill Book this was made possible. Season 2 was released summer 2020 on vimeo ppv, but now can be seen for free here.

Take a container of valve oil that's about half-full, top it off with rubbing alcohol, shake. Apply to valves. That plus the hand warmers will keep the sound coming. --MMB '74

Ohio State fan/future band member here. I really love seeing these sorts of videos, even for your rival school’s band. There are truly no rivalries in band, there is only the Band Family. Go Blue, and Go Bucks!

I’m just a Michigan fan, and for me it’s always important to show up on game day early. Seeing and hearing the band is part of the experience. I’m surprised that this video hasn’t gotten more views. I would like to hear from some of the students and share their experience. Let’s pass it on!!

I’m proud to have family members particularly my grandfather as he was a proud Michigan alum. He even kept the same clarinet for 50 years and made some great friends during his time there. I will miss him and never forget the memories I had with him. Go blue from the bottom of my heart.

My grandfather was a clarinet player in the Michigan marching band. He kept that clarinet his whole life and went on so many journeys from Pasadena to Columbus and he made great friends during his time there. I will definitely miss him.

These videos are amazing not just for high school students contemplating taking band. They are also amazing for senior citizens, all that youthful excitement and optimism. In a world where everything changes so fast, so much new technology, CMP brings us something eternal, the excitement of youth and the permanence of college band traditions.

This is an amazing series ! One of the best shows on RU-vid !!! I've watched 5 episodes so far, and each one is beautifully produced, beautifully filmed, and each always catches something unique and different about the high-lighted band. The sound is always excellent and the editting beautiful and concise. CMP has a really excellent team. (The bands are amazing too, but I'll leave that for a separate comment.)
