Carol: "Amazing. I would be speechless if I wasn't already speaking. I don't know what the hell's going on, in the most wonderful way." So much needed uplifting episode after the unspeakable doom from the last one. We adored King Ezekiel and his beautiful "kitty" Shiva! Carol's reaction to their encounter was golden. Of course we weren't surprised that she would reject Ezekiel's offer, she needs to be alone, period. It was a very nice episode but of course we are also reminded that the kingdom is no different from Hilltop and is also under the thumb, or shall we say "the bat" of Negan and his reign of terror. We appreciate you guys, for all your support, so don't forget to hit that subscribe button, it really motivates us to keep up the content. I love the King and Jerry, his side guy. When this episode aired I thought, oh God they are getting corny now. But when Carol was leaving and he told her his back story, and showed his true self. I just loved him. Carol was hysterical when she 1st met the King. After the carnage of the last episode, the comic relief is greatly welcome. Sheeva is so great. Her story also. It's amazing how many twists and turns this show has. Well love your reviews as always! Till tomorrow. 🙋
Yes this episode was needed. The last two episodes was truly depressing. I personally didn't know if I was going to continue after the last episode but the fact that even the kingdom was being threatened was reminding me of our loss in the show.
I love Jerry’s line when he leaves Ezekiel with Carol in the orchard If you need me just holler I stay in hollering distance Jerry is so sweet but he also gives off the vibe that if anyone ever hurts Ezekiel they will have reason to be terrified.
just remember, for every "uplifting" moment you get with TWD it comes at a cost. and now the build up is started. twists and turns, some expected, some completely unexpected. this is pretty much the beginning of TWD book two. and it is a long journey through every emotion there is. great job guys.
This episode with Carol bringing back the acting was absolute magic😂, she is one of my all time fav characters and a total badass throughout the seasons🔥😍
Anyone with any sense can see that an 85lb old women (in real life) is no threat. However, I get what the show tries to do. The problem is that her "act" is NOT good at all. In a real Apocalypse, nobody would believe she is a very weak "deer in headlights" if she has survived this long. Obviously anyone who has survived even half the time up to this point, is very savy and able to handle themselves very well! It's not like she came from a place like Alexandria where she had been sheltered! Morgan seen her BS immediately, as would anyone with half a brain!
@@anthonyzarate9807 but she does her act with people WHO DONT KNOW HER. Which is what makes her so strong. Believe me I’m the first person to call out woke nonsense and me strong women bs but Carols character arc and development in general is pretty legendary in terms of zombie survival characters as a whole. Daryl, Carol and Morgan are all legendary TWD characters in their own right
@@plaguedoctor5657 I definitely buy Daryl. He was a very strong and smart hunter and survivor since he was a young kid. However, Carol was always cooking, washing, and raising her daughter. When did she fine time to hunt, track, strengthen her body, etc...??? In a real Apocalypse, Carol would have been one of the first victims. Again, it is a good story, and I'm a big fan of the show (the first few seasons especially). I was just disappointed of how the writers sold out for viewership as opposed to realism. P.S. In a Zombie Apocalypse I would be one of the first to die as well. I'm an adult male who weighs over 200lbs and an athlete. However, I know nothing about survival and depend on others and technology. I don't use guns or weapons and would be a fish out of water in the wilderness.
@@kimberlywilmoth9184 Again, it makes for a great story, character development, and TV. Just not realistic. Why do all the other alphas and true "badass" survivors stay the same or regress in the new world, while somehow Carol passes them ALL up??? This is my main point, characters like Daryl, Rick, and Michonne would be the most feared and most able survivors (even Meryl). P.S. Carol was cooking, cleaning her whole adult life and eventually a stay at home mom, not just season 1. She was never learning self defense, having fist fights growing up, lifting weights, playing sports, law enforcement training, or even hunting in the woods. Again, its good fiction and great to root for the small and weak and see them become the strong and dominant, just very unrealistic. I could see if she was tall, thick, and physically strong. However, having said that, she is much more believable than Maggie.
Negan is an instant S😂, whether you like him or not, he's got some huge balls. I've heard him talk about how as soon as he took on this role, he got a lot of hate. I guess people have a hard time separating the character from the actor but the actor, Jeffery Dean Morgan was a perfect Negan I thought
King E and Shiva oh and we can never forget Jerry. This was one of my favorite bottle episodes of that season. The look on Carols face was just brilliant and like y’all said we so need this episode after what happened with the season opener.
It's kind of hard to tell because sometimes judge based on whether the character is good or evil and other times the impact and importance of character and their acting ability.
@@bethk1979 yep.... as far as evil, they'd have to add a lower category lol.... as far as impact and importance as well as just on screen charisma i don't know how you don't put him at the very top...
Ron and Sam were not prepared for this world because Jessie never enforced that her kids learned how to fight until she was going to get lessons herself from Rosita. Which really left Sam as useless.
Carol meets the King is one of my absolute favorite moments in the whole series. It's so cute! And Rob, you're onto something with regard to Ezekiel's motive for helping Carol. 😉
I also think the king actively tried to care for everyone. It’s basically his job but he enjoys it. He likes t help and be helpful. Look how he is with Morgan and they ain’t hooking up (right now anyway lol)
I'm glad you aren't giving up!!! ♥ 7-01 is sooooooooooo hard but I know you'll love the show still. I was so sad at how many stopped watching after that. 😞
Jerry is portrayed by Cooper Andrews. He was a boom operator (crew) since Season 3 on the show while also doing some small acting roles. He is one of the best additions to the cast. He is definitely a fan favorite. Ezekiel's origin with Shiva would be another great episode for the Tales of TWD anthology series I have mentioned. This storyline with The Kingdom is a variation of one of the graphic novel arcs. I know you want to read that though so I won't spoil it. But I will say different characters in the comic have some of the arcs from the tv show.
To think that while Carol and Morgan were having a good morning in a new safe place called the Kingdom Negan was making Rick his bitch off in the woods since this is the same day but we get to see what happened to Carol and Morgan after Morgan saves her and the Kingdom riders showed up.
I'm not sure if you noticed but the name of the last episode " the day will come when you won't be " is the last line Dr Jenner says to Rick when he let's them out of the CDC in season 1 episode 6
Ezekiel and Jerry are just so icon they bring so much joy and optimism in a world what’s so dark and brutal. I can’t wait for youse to see more of them they are amazing characters imo
Another great dhow to watch is, Supernatural. Jeffrey Dean Morhan, Negan, is in it a bit. In later seasons, there are references every once in a while to the walking dead and Negan.
The last episode was absolutely incredible! It was the first time we saw Rick genuinely frightened & defeated. Negan now being the big threat is gonna be super interesting!
The introduction of The Kingdom so far seems really cool! Especially meeting Shiva which is a character you would not expect to be introduced to but definitely keeps things interesting!
Eric really is just a background character. Pretty much his only characteristic is Aarons boyfriend. Which is kind of weird because he was one of the most capable people at Alexandria when the group first arrived because he was one of the few that actually went beyond the walls
Yay! It’s Thursday!!! And we get our tier list today, too!!! I love y’all sooooooo freaking much! Y’all have no idea how much I’ve been looking forward to this! I’ve had a rough week…. Filled with more bad news than usual….. I needed this- and Rob & Trin tier list- more than I can express! As always, sending y’all love & positive vibes from the coast of South Carolina!!! 💜🫶🏼💜🫶🏼💜🫶🏼
I will say in response to Rob's comment about people saying "X is my favorite character" or "I love X" sometimes people can love a character just for how scary they are, or how evil. I am the type of person who gets attached or begins to like characters who are just one-off or cameo characters and then I get sad when they don't come back haha. Like in Grey's Anatomy, there was just one episode where a doctor came in and she was clearly just there for comic relief but I ADORED her. She did later return and do 2 more episodes but for a while, she was my favorite just from that one episode. So while I do try and refrain from saying "X is my fav" or "I love X" you just gotta remember some people can love a character in different ways and people love to hate too. So please don't read too much into it or feel like things are going to be spoiled or that you think he gets worse (love to hate) or redeemed because anything is possible and there are people who would love characters no matter how evil or angelic they become. Much love to you and Trin
Welcome King Ezekiel, Sheeva and Jerry! It was tough losing Abe and Glenn! Don't be afraid to warm up to these new characters! Especially Jerry! Everyone loves Jerry!
You probably didn’t hear them talk about this but it’s recommended you don’t tell them what characters people like cause then that’s _sort of_ Spoiler-ish, knowing that a character is liked.
These days I even quoted King's phrase out there, because he is very special in the fantasy universe of this harsh reality in which they live or even in which we live.
It is interesting to see your tier list each season. Especially when we see if characters move up or down the list. Wonderful how you point out the growth of Judith each season not many people give her the deserved recognition. This episode was a great relief from the past 2 episodes. I think many people have told you that they love/hate Negan because he is a great villain. He stood out from all other villains just the way he carries himself and the way he can break people. We hate him for killing Glenn and Abraham. I love the thought of you can go and not go. We all need that place sometimes.
Ah yes. King Ezekiel . Quit the opposite of negan when it comes to first impressions right? He is one of my favorite characters. So optimistic. A nice pallette cleanser from the last episode, which Carol has no idea.
A perfect episode after the horror of the previous one. Ezekiel is a cool character. Awesome tiger. And I love Carol being her adorable self. Episode 2 was able to get the series back on its familiar track. Still miss Abraham and Glenn, though. Negan is the kind of villain we love to hate.
Part of the reason people got fed up with the whole savior’s arc was the much slower pace. After what happened to Glenn and Abraham, people wanted blood and to many (including myself) it felt like the show dragged its feet wayyyy too much on the arc. However, I think that mostly has to do with the way it aired, which was week to week. If the saviors arc seasons released like a Netflix show-dropping all at once for prime binging-I don’t think it would have lost nearly as many people. Rewatching the saviors arc in a binge is WAY more rewarding than watching it week to week was. But I can’t exactly get mad at them for the slower pace, they had a HUGE cast of characters and while they fumbled here and there, I am mostly happy with the way everything ended up going. The colossal scale of the saviors arc with all the different communities is highly impressive, as a writer myself working with a large number of characters is damn hard and they did a mostly great job of spreading their attention, but the inevitable outcome was that the pace HAD to be slower to cover so much ground, which made it difficult to watch week to week rather than binge. Definitely a shame so many people quit during this arc, but I can’t blame them either. It only they could have released it all at once haha! The week to week schedule suited the other arcs really well, but s6 and the whole savior’s arc would have been more effective as a binge drop I think.
Agreed. I get why people were/are upset over Glenn and Abraham's deaths, but it's still such a shame that so many people completely dropped the show and its characters after, especially since TWD has always been known for its gore and deaths from the beginning.
Now that the kingdom has been introduced, you see that Negan & the saviors had the library community, the hilltop & the kingdom under their thumb. The library group fought back & were wiped out, which is what king Ezekiel is afraid of. And now Negan & co have Alexandria under them; that’s 3 communities serving them. I’m glad y’all mentioned ppl setting up expectations with certain characters, by saying they like/love them. That’s a spoiler for y’all; IDK why ppl just can’t let reactors find things out or decide things on their own.
I like how the way you organized the tier. I agree with you two this episode was needed after last ep. Enjoyed king Ezekiel , Shiva and The Kingdom. Always ❤Trin& Yours' theory ,thoughts and conversation. The Actor Jeffrey dean Morgan plays Negan . I just can't wait for your thoughts on the upcoming episodes. Thank Rob & Trin I really am enjoying watching your reaction.
After being out there for so long and running into groups and people just wanting to take from them, it's nice to find like minded people n communities. Our groups world keeps getting bigger. 🤴🐯
I agree with what you said about when people say they love someone that clearly your meant to hate as it indicates there's a reason not to. I always get on people about spoilers but they always respond with "it's not spoiling anything specific" but it really kinda does
I love how polar opposite Ezekiel and Negan are. Ezekiel is such a benevolent person who brings so much joy & faith. Two strong communities run in very different way.
Thanks for last episodes emotional damage, it took me a while to heal from the brutality shock. Glad your getting over it. I hv a suspicion it was just the start of shock brutality theme that will now be adapted by other shows. At the very least there is a story behind this brutal theme With the walking dead.
Dunno if it's been said but some fun facts: -Khary Peyton (Ezekiel) is the voice of Cyborg from Teen Titans -Episode Two (The Well) and Episode Three (The Cell) were originally swapped the other way but they changed the airing around to give the audience a more light tone Episode after the premiere devastated everyone
I think what people mean by they love him is because right off the bat, (no pun intended) He is very charming, funny, and charismatic. Not having to do with the future just first and second episode impressions.
I honestly think a lot of people loved Negan “right off the bat” because he’s a Darth Vader tier villain and his introduction is just so cool. Y’all already said he makes the Governor look like a chump, that’s what makes people like me “love” him lol
when or how did ezekiel actually get the tiger after in the walker outbreak?, did he ever mention or say when he was a former zoo worker before the start of the disaster in the walker apocalypse or did he found the tiger in the wild and train him before or after when he found and built his own community "The Kingdom" somewhere in after the start of disaster in the walker pandemic??
Oh i love zek and jerry. Agree with trin, i love his face. The cliffhanger, the wait and finding out glenn was killed made slot of people quit watching. There is plenty of good show left. But i also understand the fury behind it. It was brutal. I felt sick and sore for days after. This episode was sooo needed. I want a to get a Shiva
I hope you liked this episode, ezekiel and Jerry are so amazing you will like them. ❤️ As a comic reader I was waiting for Shiva from season 1 🤣. You can imagine the excitement when this episode came out.
You forgot about Enid, if you read this what would you put her as? Ezekiel saw carol right away for who she really was much like Morgan did. And I love how she can go but not go. She can be alone but also be near the kingdom in case she needs anything and they know where she is.
We needed this lighthearted episode after the last one. The King and the Kingdom seem cool but very passive and not great fighters, like Hilltop. This is gonna make things hard, can’t wait for you both to see how this plays out!
Oh yea this espisode was to bring a little lighter espisode from the previous brutally espisode. They went over board on the previous espisode so in my mind they wanted a little lighter. King Zeiko and his tiger is awesome.
