1. When you say ‘submerge the whites of your teeth’ - it looks like you do this by pushing on the tray with your fingers? Are you pushing in one place? 2. Do you apply any pressure with your fingers during the 3 min? 3. How close to your front teeth should the tray sit? *A closeup of the completed impression would be helpful, with details of what is correct placement and depth and what is not correct. 4. On removal of the tray, do you have to be careful not to slide the puddy on your teeth or is it fully cured? It would be helpful to see this part. 5. Can we email a photo to make sure the impression is good before mailing? (I see this is stated in the mailing.) 6. Can we mail back any unused trays?
Hi Erika! Our utmost apologies for the very delayed response time! I'm just now seeing all of these great questions and I'm happy to answer them below! 1. When you say ‘submerge the whites of your teeth’ - it looks like you do this by pushing on the tray with your fingers? Are you pushing in one place? I'm using my pointer fingers to stabilize the front of the tray and my thumbs to stabilize the base of the tray. The goal is to create an even "base" all around the tray and submerge the teeth evenly/completely. 2. Do you apply any pressure with your fingers during the 3 min? Yes, initially when you're submerging the teeth, you'll want to use some pressure to make sure all the teeth are covered evenly. Once the tray is in place you can release that pressure and just hold the tray still. 3. How close to your front teeth should the tray sit? You'll want a small gap between your front teeth and the tray. You want to avoid hitting the plastic with your front teeth. A good way to gain an understanding of this is to practice placement using the empty tray (no putty). Do this several times before you attempt to take your impression so you feel confident with the placement. *A closeup of the completed impression would be helpful, with details of what is correct placement and depth and what is not correct. Thank you for this suggestion. We recently created a short video version of how to take a great impression that does have some nice closeup shots! Here's the link to this video: ru-vid.comnB8dsmXVrBM 4. On removal of the tray, do you have to be careful not to slide the putty on your teeth or is it fully cured? It would be helpful to see this part. At this point, the putty will be fully cured so you can use your pointer fingers to remove the tray. I usually start from the back molars. I feel for the top of the tray and press down on both sides. 5. Can we email a photo to make sure the impression is good before mailing? (I see this is stated in the mailing.) Absolutely! Many of our customers send pictures for approval before sending their impressions back. 6. Can we mail back any unused trays? Yes, absolutely.
That is correct! In the past, we did provide upper teeth impression trays. However, we've found through years of practice that the lower tray works very well for both upper and lower teeth impressions. We do keep upper teeth impression trays in stock for customers that prefer to use an upper tray.
