Subscribe now: goo.gl/Jjr53K We'll Burn The Sky - January will be “Taken By Force” month. As the Deluxe Edition of “Taken By Force” does contain a bonus CD but no DVD this stuff is exclusively on our RU-vid channel.
My favourite Scorpions song. Powerful melody, powerful lyrics and a great backstory too. Also, special kudos to Uli- not only for his exceptional lead guitar parts and soloing, but also for being totally cool with his spouse writing what's essentially a love letter to her ex-boyfriend LOL.
Thanks for this amazing song! The first time i heard this song live was on the Taken by Force tour, January 1978 in Hanover.Years later while Wacken 2013 i had tears in my eyes while Uli played the song in his late night show.
This beautiful song up there with DP's Child in Time, UFO's Love to Love, JP's Beyond The Realm of Death as the most epic metal ballad with crazy ass solo.
I've been the scorpions fan my whole life, I'm 41 years old. They were, and are, my favorite all-time band. People who know this about me always asked what my favorite song or songs of them are? I always tell them that I could never pick one favorite, but if I had to, I think it really would be this song!
This song always blew my mind, just found out its about Jimmy Hendrix today :). Cant wait to see these guys in Vegas in two weeks 4-12-22 :) On top of all that it is one of the few recordings of early scorpions on video. You owe it to yourself to what it on RU-vid and Scorpions - We'll Burn The Sky - Musikladen (16.01.1978) and watch Scorpions - Sails Of Charon - Musikladen TV (16.01.1978) and the swiss tv video on here as well for old footage of the scorpions to blow your mind. Very little old footage to begin with. Thanks to all that upload and thank you RU-vid as well. We still want to see Uli super 8 footage or anything floating around out there. Just noticed the full video hit youtube a few days before these interviews. Please upload all old footage that is left.
best version is Tokyo Tapes (vinyle version) and on Taken By Force bonus, the ending part is a masterpiece on two chords but such a hurricane (or tsunami) of emotions conducted by Roth genius.
I discovered the Scorpions via Michael Schenker. He left UFO and I read that he played on some of their Lovedrive album. Then I went backwards. Browsing, special prices, used record shops, etc. When I heard We'll Burn the Sky off of Tokyo Tapes......I had to find out and hear Uli's playing. He left Scorpions and had been gone. in 81 in America Scorpions were barely breaking through at that point. Uli, MSG new UFO and Scorpions. We fans were in guitar/hard rock heaven.
My favorite Scorpions songs (Followed a tight second by "In Trance"). I've seen the band 8 times from the 'Blackout' tour to the 'Eye II Eye' tour, and never heard the song live. I finally got to meet The Scorpions and had a chance to ask Klaus Meine - he gave me a good education about the American Music industry. These guys create the most amazing ballads. And as Klaus stated in this interview - the inter mix of Rock song/Rock Ballad found in "We'll Burn The Sky" creates an unbelievable, and incredibly successful dynamic. I haven't done the research, but I wonder if The Scorpions actually pioneered the style?
LOL - Rudolf : "so and I started to fidel around" 1:38 I love it when Rudolf talks his germlish (I called it Schenkerenglish) so funny and unconcerned ! I'am a fan since '81 and "We'll burn the Sky" is one of Scorps absolut finest work !
I used to be a huge Scorpions fan but for some strange reason lost contact with them sometimes during the mid 90's when I discovered prog metal and got totally lost into - which is where I'm still at today. I stumbled upon this link here on youtube a couple days ago and have been listening to Scorpions virtually non-stop since then and I'm so glad to have rediscovered all these awesome early albums again! Songs like We'll Burn the Sky, The Zoo, The Sails of Charon and Coast to Coast to mention a few. We'll Burn the Sky is probably my favourite Scorpions song and it's probably up there on my absolute top 10 list! Klaus Meine has always impressed me with his powerful voice - one that is still as strong today which is extremely rare since most powerful singers lose their voice over time (Glen Huges is one of the few that only gets better the older he gets!?). Klaus reminds me a lot of Ronnie James Dio, another singer with a powerful voice. I hope you will keep rocking for many years to come Scorpions! It's hard to grasp the fact that some have hit 70 already but as true artists they've devoted their life to music and they still sound awesome live without cheating like so many other younger musicians/singers do on stage. I remember when Scorpions were the biggest band out there and they were massively popular here in Sweden, which I think they still are. I think I can still play every riff and solo of Scorpions despite haven't done so for 20+ years and that says a lot on how good their music is! RU-vid isn't just full of sh*t and I'm humble and happy to be listening to Scorpions again! Thank you guys!
+Bruno SCORPIONUDO I'm agree , i'm deeply touched by the wonderful lyrics , they are just perfect for the music . But i would also mean that when this song became my favorite , i didn't almost understand English , it was just the music , the voice and the transmitted feelings ...Several décades later , We'll Burn The Sky still my Big Number 1
Certainly one of the best rock songs of all time!!! I think the band at this time was truly stunning but one thing that I've always been mystified over is how no one ever mentions what an amazing musician Rudolf is! He is really one of the best rhythm guitarists ever and is such a great accompanist for the lead guitarists that he has worked with!! They have been so lucky to have been in the band with him and lucky us as the recipients of their hard work!!! Bravo!!!!
Yes. Exactly. Rudolf is no joke when it comes to rhythm guitar. Very great composer and player. I bet all members of the band, ex or current enjoy playing with him.
Scorpions melodies were like no other band before or since. So touching and delicate, even when heavy. They lost all that after Francis and Herman left.
It honestly pisses me off that Scorpions are underrated. I mean yeah, SOME of their hits play on the radio but still, this song is absolutely beautiful and I've never heard it on the radio. I have mad respect for these guys ✌🤘
It seems they never play the best songs from the albums on the radio- so i always bought albums . it always blew me away that the best songs never got air time. Im sick of hearing the mainstream hits all these years- why dont stations play these lesser known songs instead. 😞🌼🌸
hairilsahar - What do you mean by “original line-up”? There were three different drummers during Uli’s tenure in Scorpions. Did you mean the Fly To The Rainbow line-up?
The best Song need simply chords not complicated guitar chords...the simple harmonie make the succes of a Song the audiance understand that since long time . SCORPIONS Band KNOW THAT §§§§§ music is not a competition of musicians...
@@lifegoeson2422 ac DC also has masterpieces Let there be rock.... Overdose.... Come on the thing Is that they Only play fucking back in black or thunderstrack
@@lifegoeson2422 AMEN! I went to a Kiss concert two months ago and what a pathetic circus show. Thank goodness I was there to see Deep Purple, who are actual musicians and delivered a top notch show.
