Brilliant opening for Dynamite last night. Both MJF and Konosuke Takeshita gave their all and the aftermath gave Mr. Friedman heat plus the story he told during the interview backstage. *Salt to the Earth* indeed.
Not so brilliant of the production crew to show the Ref handing Takeshita a razor blade, then show him cutting himself, and then finally show Takeshita handing it back to the Ref 🤦🏻
Takeshita is truly one those guys to keep you're eyes on that guy has major star written all over him he could be AEW's Tanahashi or Okada one day with all do respect to those 2 legends.
@@tankboi8249 Ok and? We're talking about his work, not a specific thing he ain't great at. But then again, not exactly his fault, was just a stupid camera angle.
I love how his performance has evolved to be brutal with every move. It would be phenomenal if he could get to the level where he always looks like he's genuinely trying to retire whoever he's working against.
He did win against Brian Cage which was a great start, but I REALLY wanted them to call an Audible and had him beat Mox in their 2nd match cause that kickout at 1 from the Deathrider was TOO GOOD of a pop to NOT have Takeshita win.
When I heard that Moxley was getting paid to teach AEW wrestlers, I didn’t believe it until I saw Takeshita blade himself, then give the blade to the referee at 7:02 . Bravo.
@Maxtor I actually would prefer Omega and Takeshita in a tag team. Not only do they got history tagging and facing each other, but that one issue some people have with Takeshita is that he can't "talk" which I call bullshit cause everytime he on the mic, the crowd pops. But if they wanted to, Kenny could be Konosuke's part time translator and maybe help him speak more English. But that's my match, Young Bucks vs The Future Bout Machines.
MJF is a "new generation" talent, but he really respects the "old school" style and clearly made it his own. As for who he is away from events and cameras, don't care. It's his life and none of my business. He's the guy who is paid to bring heat, and he earns his paycheck.
MJF is soo good. He does alot of little things within his matches that add to the story telling. That's what wrestling is all about. Telling a well crafted story within the ring. He knows how to work the crowd.
Yeah he's amazing at everything tbh, when you think he has the heel tactics, the selling etc down to a tee the bumps he takes combined with how deceivingly athletic he is which lets him pull off the likes of the top rope lariat counter he did here, the fact he's equally effectively being a cowardly and comedic character but also works really well when he goes full on intense, in addition to being probably the best mic worker and best heel in the business and one of the legit funniest despite also being hated...guy has everything, think somewhere down the line he'll make an amazing babyface too.
This man RARELY WRESTLES!!! And yet, when he did? He wrestled in El Paso, my home town… and I was THERE!!! That’s just incredible, and it made for one of the best shows I’d ever been too. My god!!! This was such a fun show!!
You’re right! He also made multiple appearances throughout the night and was interacting with the crowd regularly, I went with a couple friends and we’re huge MJF marks we had no clue he was wrestling that night till a hour or so before we went to the event.
I really enjoyed this. I do wish MJF wrestled more because when he does, he's really good and it's also the little things he's so good at that are important. The ability to slow down a match then pick it up at the right times. The little eye pokes and use of the ref. Old school heel stuff. His selling his absolutely brilliant. Good outing from Takeshita too, really gave Max a run for his money!
Its basically his one and only negative as far as i'm concerned the fact he wrestles so little often as champ or not, but starting to wonder if that is 100 percent intentional for his character arc and also maybe this is a less is more kinda thing it certainly has made the few matches he has had since his Fall return extremely memorable and all way above average in skill and quality as well ya know.
@@yourdagan No you don't. Maybe in a "sPoRtS eNtErTaInMeNt" company you'd need better English but not a Wrestling one like AEW. Also what little English he does speak he speaks it well enough. Also Asuka.
@@kennythetrend3688 There is a very small segment of the overall wrestling audience which is so forgiving of lack of English skills as to allow or feel in their hearts that that person is a superstar. AEW's audience is smart marks who do value wrestling ability to a point of it balancing out inability to promo, but again, the limit of tolerability for the general audience would be one of the less significant belts. How is one supposed to connect with a supposed world champion who can't tell their own stories? That's why the best that can be done for them is belts where story is of little consequence, like the All-Atlantic, which would be doable for him yes.
@@ReelRonDog He might still be filming for The Iron Claw which is gonna limit how much he can do on AEW. Huge liability to have him in the ring every week and risk a serious injury while filming.
I don't understand why people say "MJF is the guy you love to hate, the guy you wanna see get beat up". MJF is fantastic, i want him to win. I am actively rooting for him.
I loved this match it was excellent I genuinely have no idea why people cannot give MJF his props when it comes to his in ring abilities the guy is the complete package. I love the post match attack with MJF busted opening Takeshita with his ring.
I love MJF just cause he's low-key a heel that works like a face.. The knee selling, it's like ... "I hate him, but shit, I hope his knee's okay." And he usually does that in a lot of his matches.
Bro MJF proves again and again no matter how good his opponent is, MJF is so so good he always changes my mind every s8ngle time He is a great wrestler many spots Takeshita almost made mistakes but MJF was just on spot perfect and smooth There's a big reason MJF is champion not just bcuz of his promo skills period..... every wrestler back in locker room must learn take advice from him in every aspect of pro wrestling
Truly enjoyed this match. Takeshita deserves the push, and fans seem to really like him. One wish list item…bring Cheeseburger back for a match or two on Dark / Elevation.
Sure that’s what AEW needs more tiny skinny little guys who don’t even look like they could win at ping pong , yup that what they need. IMHO no more tiny little non athletic looking indyriffics, AEW brutalizes my suspension of disbelief enough already.
This is going to be MJF’s biggest title defence against Danielson at Revolution. This’ll prove to the entire world that MJF is the best wrestler and champion.
Danielson seems to have taken a liking to him both in kayfabe and irl, so definitely possible But then again, Don Callis has been trying to recruit him and his proposition is that he always lost a close match and need mentorship. This might ended up with a heel turn for him, which might be interesting. Would be a good way to incorporate his many losses into his story So, with two faction vying for the same guy, the only thing to do is a Takeshita on a pole match at Double of Nothing
What a match Konosuke Takeshita and MJF are two very good wrestlers and this opener AEW world title elimination match was really a great pro- wrestling match I really liked MJF he is a great heel I love him and I hope his run as AEW world champion is very long because he deserves it 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😈😈😈😈 Konosuke Takeshita is future AEW champion 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
