Great video. One tip I learnt after moving to Sweden, don't leave your snow shovel in the garage. Leave it by the house door. One day soon it will snow heavily and you will need it to dig yourself out. I also learnt to shovel the snow before it got too deep, shovelling 10 cms twice is much easier than 20 cms once.
I truly enjoy watching your life together unfold. While i know you miss each other, take it from an old schooler, it is good to remember to always maintain your interests individually as to not loose yourself totally. It is always good to see you two living your best life.
@@NaomiandJack Coming home to all three, and some candy too, would have been very nice! I'm sure Jack's spirit was willing but his flesh had a lot of garage to sort.
Jack your so good and hard working!! It's also nice of you to let your other half have some fun with her friend!!! Your both VERY secure couple! Keep up the good work both of you, hope all work out well for you!!
The House is awesome. Jack I am amazed at how you cleared the Garage. Kitchen is sooo Nice! You and Naomi are so Efficient. Winter should be fun. You're preparing nicely.
Awesome video! Jack, you truly are a dedicated, hard-working, organized and thoughtful person. Naomi, you are a considerate, loving and loyal friend! Together the two of you are a tremendous twosome! I pray that your year in Sweden is purposeful and fulfilling. By the way, your house is so cozy and a wonderful showcase of your collect talents. Bravo!!!
I sure am! I used to love Abraham but honestly, as a Christian felt a little uncomfortable about the multiple entities. Love what Abraham says, do you have the same thoughts, if so how do you resolve them! 🥰❤️😘
Ah it actually has arrived but we were on holiday when it happen. Soon we will experience the cold! Are you Sweden atm? I recall seeing a video of you buying yourself a cottage ❤️
Quick tip for the garage. Attach something to the floor touching the back tyre so you know far far to reverse. That way you can use it as a stop every time. I use a flagstone but a chunky piece of wood would work. Enjoying your content 👍.
Naomi and jack u are so strong as a young couple knows what u want out of life I wish u both all the best keep the good work up I just love both of u may God keep u safe
I am so happy I stumbled upon your videos! Your Sweden journey totally captivated me since I’ve been dreaming about living there one day. I currently follow other Swedish vloggers and I’m SO happy to add your channel to my subscriptions. Naomi, you are such a strong woman! And Jack, you’re such a gentleman! You guys are an amazing couple and I can’t wait to continue following your journey!!!! Good luck and stay healthy from California!
Naomi I love your sensibility, sis, you are wise beyond your years, happy you celebrated with your friend. Jack..you are a beast! Your organization of the garage IMPRESSIVE....goals!
Hope you get your winter tires on soon. Here in British Columbia, drivers needed winter tires in early October to travel any of the mountain areas. Driving in snowy conditions without winter tires is dangerous. You may also want to put a winter travel pack in your car, a blanket, a candle, a shovel and a bag of kitty litter or sand if you get stuck and need some extra traction.
What is the situation with Internet connection in the North? I'm considering buying something but really would need to have reliable Internet even if 4g or 5g. I lived Arvidsjaur for a while but that was back in 2004 when Internet wasn't such a big issue for daily life
@@johnathongallagher9540 It's quite good for the most part! There are government strategies to supply all regions of Sweden with good broadband, so it's a priority. Even if the population is getting smaller in the north :)
@@stefanexplores thanks so much for the response. Is there a way of finding out the connectivity of an area online? We're looking to start visiting in the spring and out would be good to try and shortlist some locations based on decent coverage
Jack & Naomi, wow, so much progress you've done with your home. Jack a great job cleaning out the garage! Naomi, so glad you were able to travel to see your friend. People need to know that traveling does the heart & spirit some good! Miss you guys, and love what you've done (so far) to your home! Send some of that cold weather to Miami! Happy Monday!😎
It is such a joy seeing you Jack & Naomi! 🙏 The 🏡 looks like a whole new place altogether. Jack that garage though! 👍 It is amazing what you two have accomplished already. Naomi girl yeah you really seemed to have kicked up them heels in Amsterdam! What a scenic visit with your friend. It is good to take a break sometimes. It is also good to return home to warmth welcome and open loving arms! 😜 Will we get tour once everything is up to your liking? 👀 😁
Aw thank you so much for your lovely comment ❤️💖 Jack did an amazing job and relaxing war much needed! We will of course so a property house tour hopefully it will be the next video xxxx
The work you have done on your bedrooms is amazing. You both are such an inspiration. I am happy for you like you are my little brother and sister! xoxoxo
Fun fact about Febo's from a dutchie! It used to be one of the most famous fast food places in the Netherlands. Nowadays it is not as big of a thing but some people still religiously eat febo after going out!
It looked like you've got a kerosene-heater and an electrical fan-heater amongst your stuff, probably both in working order. You might use one of them to heat your office.
Naomi another good job on what I call your "wisdom" talk....I love it. Seems like you had an awesome time with your friend. You help me have a nice weekend.
Go to the tax office for personnummer, BankID and that stuff, it'ts definitely worth it. Much more useful than a NI number, you'll find it a lot easier to do all kinds of stuff with swedish ID. Big Brother is definitely watching,. just like in the UK, but unlike in the UK you get some useful features, it's not _just_ used to check up on you.
Good girl - good way of thinking out life and how it works. Loved the way you had a great time in Amsterdam. As for that cleaning out of that garage ... humongous job ! Kudos to both of you, though.
Why does it seem Jack had just as much fun cleaning and organizing garage as Naomi did on boat rides and sight seeing.😄 She's so cute dolled up or dressed down.💛💛
What a hidden treasure! So much scope....... you could split the Garage and make a small roadside Tea Cafe for passing travellers.... 'Shabby Chic' interiors theme.......less IS more.......could be a lucrative venture?
You guys need to change locks on the door. Having to use a key to unlock the door from the inside is extremely dangerous in case there's a fire. 😳 Be safe! Change your lock!
We had that when we first moved to Seattle. You leave the key in the inside of the lock, but in the locked position, at night. Works like a charm AND less capability to be picked than a traditional deadbolt.
sometimes you move your camera too fast and it makes me dizzy, like when you were showing the progress you have made in the garage... tooooooo fast!!! And the job you did in the garage, really great, specially because it was hard work!!!
Yeah, that's called a 'Cliffhanger'. Think we're going to see more of those in future videos .But hey, time flies, before you know it the answer is there..It was a lot of work, but realizing they got so much useful materials coming with the property,it's worth doing such. And there's a lot more..Perhaps in the coming years it would be more handy to tear down the other outbuildings and use all that wood for one big outbuilding, attached, just next or behind the garage,so only one key is needed and having acces to the gym, working place/space and having a great garden behind it..Oh boy, that's another few years of work..First,finishing the house,of course..
@@FridayWeekend That's a great thought too, yes, although such need a lot of thinking on the pro's and ,also important, the con's,s there are downsides on having strangers on your area all the time. Can be worrying, you know...But if they would do such, why not buying a used empty container, you got them up to 9 meters long and you can create a perfect high level tiny house from them, even with french doors, and a deck in front of it,faced at the garden with the Sun in your face when your guest wake up.And also having your own gym and big shed to create stuff for inside the house. The more the house is done, the more you don't want to make a mess inside no longer. We will see what's going to happen in the next episodes. If they want to continu the story with their followers, that is.
A tip for your garage get a tennis ball or similar attach it with some string so it just touches your back window when you reverse in just before your back bumper would touch your back wall. Simples.
Jack my friend... as a fellow Volvo owner, i have one advice. Get yourself a Defa warmup kit or other heating solution for your car. It's basically an electrical block heater for the engine, and a fan heater for the cabin. It will thank you for it. It will also improve your car's health in winter. It keeps the battery charged when it's connected. You plug it into an outlet to run it, and manage via app.
Calix has pretty much the same stuff as Defa (just another brand). Another route is a fuel (petrol/diesel, depending on what your car uses) powered heating system. Eberspächer is the 'classic', brand for those. Nice if you're frequently parked in locations that doesn't have outlets.
It’s fun to watch your channel. You are such a beautiful couple. The videos are well edited. That must cost you lots of time. Thanks for the effort you put in. So far things seems to turn out very well for you however I hope that you share the moments of disaster with us too. When the car won’t start because of a dead battery due to cold, when there is no water because the water pipes are frozen, when you can’t go to the shop for groceries because of heavy snowfall. Also you have to integrate into your new home country starting with learning the language. How you deal with that? I hope you will share that with us too.
Oh I never enter my pin number at gas stations. I choose credit. No thieving that way. People here in US they can put in a card reader and you can not tell the difference if it is real or not. So I do not take chances. Excellent garage clean out and organization!! I have a tip for your parking in garage. Hang a tennis ball from a string so that ball hangs down to back windshield and you can see it. That way when you back in when the ball tape the back windshield you know you have gone far enough to stop. Viola perfect parking.
Why does it feel like I knew the dance and the whoop was coming😊🤣 hahaha This reminds me Naomi, did you see the trending SA' Jonn Vuli gate dance challenge 🤣🤣? . 72 hours loooong. And I love the music . The snow does look pretty, hopefully we'll get to see it. Love you guys.
The garage looks so good. Do time laps next time. The hotel wall paper was so good. Amber restaurant was good too. So cute how much you missed each other. Tender and sweet. Lovely.
Great progress on the house! And yes, get ready, winter is coming!!! Now that your settling in, if you guys get any time I'd love to have a chat with you about a project underway here in the North that you may be interested in? Either next time you're coming to Umeå feel free to stop by on your way (I'm in Robertsfors) Or I'm often up in Skellefteå, so if you're planning a trip their anytime soon, let me know and we can meet up for a chat!?!
Do you have a remote start for your car? If so, I usually start mine at least 15 minutes before I leave, with defrost on the windscreen. Then you just wipe the windows (with your snow brush) when you get in the car. Again, I can’t stress the importance of an engine block heater in your car - plugging it in overnight if you expect -20C or colder. The energy draw is very small but will mean the difference between your car starting or not turning over to start. 🇨🇦❄️🥶
Even if you park it in the garage- I had that happen with my Toyota Highlander one morning - the temps had got down to -35C overnight and I thought, it will be fine in the garage...🤦🏻♀️. The remote start is a fantastic feature as I use it at the shops etc - Wonderful to climb into a warm car with the seat heater on.
I remember back in the -60 in Sweden when we as a family wanted to ride the train from the south to north ok, we did maybe 2 times in 10 years and then we had to eat home cooked eggs and ok soups we could not buy on that train any food, just way to expensive wow, how the times have changed.
Great job on the garage Jack. I think a little time apart is healthy in a young marriage. Naomi please be safe. Use hand sanitizer and wash your hands often. I don't want you to live in fear. But our world has changed. So live in caution.
Awesome blog awesome home an awesome birthday party all the way from Olympia Washington United States of America keep doing what you're doing take care now ❤
Running them over ice will wear them/cause streaks when wiping. Can wreck the motor and/or linkages if turned on with the blades soledly frozen to the glass - like after being parked a few days with the temperatures around freezing (partially thawing stuff, slumping down the windscreen, collecting at the bottom and around the blades, re-freezing...
When I had a garage that was a little smal I hung a plastic bottle with a string from the roof. When the car touched the bottle in a specifik place I knew that it was the perfekt spot.
Are you going to treat the garage floor before winter. Here in Canada garages are concrete obviously due to the snow and salt that are on the roads. Great you have a Volvo station wagon, I’ve owned the V70 then the cross country station wagon. Never let me down in any of our very harsh winters.
