I suggest doing the retro draft similar to how Twitch streamers do react videos. Find some of the higher quality Twitch streamers, the ones actually doing good commentary, and borrow the formula. You play the video, then simply pause when you have a comment. Obviously for fair use reasons your commentary needs to be transformative and a good portion of the total time of the full content you produce… there is no hard and fast percentage, but transformative is the key part, which should be pretty easy for you, as you both have a pretty good ability to talk, in depth, for periods of time. You need to have the video as a picture-in-picture, with it being slightly larger than the video of you two, or slightly smaller, but large enough so that watchers can see what you are watching. You also have to have the actual audio going, so that those of us who just listen to your work, while we work, can know exactly what is being reacted to. Not having the audio is a non-starter in my opinion, and basically makes it pointless for those of us that listen to this as if it is a podcast, but that’s up to you at the end of the day.

I like how they just put Detroit in this box. If Detroit just BLINDLY takes whoever is highest on their board... then why did they trade down from 6 to 12? I think they targeted Gibbs and wisely realized other teams (and PFF) undervalued GIbbs based on his position... traded down and crossed their fingers. Point is it's more complicated. And what is "need"? Obviously Detroit used Gibbs... a lot. Detroit's idea of need is probably very different than what most analysts think. I'm sure Ben Johnson and his coordinators are very granular in their approach. This formation with this blocking scheme with this grouping... "I wish we had a player who could do X". You know?

They have to start drafting corners and Dline soon. Time to hit the important positions

I think the draft debate over value is between riskier players at premium positions vs safer players at non-premium positions. Most teams choose the former, the Lions chose the latter.

One thing I really appreciate about Steve is his reluctance to use jingoistic rhetoric to describe players or teams. Sam on the other hand

I think it definitely matters over time when talking about positional value. It's really about the contract and how available those players are in free agency. Drafting a center in the first round doesn't make much sense to me when you can sign a quality one for cheap and then draft I high value position.

The Vikings Darrisaw trade was great.. hindsight is 20/20. The Vikings got EXTREMELY lucky that the Jets took AVT and the Raiders absolutely reached for Alex Leatherwood. If the Raiders made the easy pick it would have been a horrible trade for the Vikings

The Lions draft was dumb. They took 2 low positional value reaches in the 1st round. Of course, LaPorta and Branch are good picks. But the media keeps hyping up and overrating their 1st round. Even these guys aren't being critical enough.
@toekneecornhighsir7299
@toekneecornhighsir7299 2 месяца назад
Agreed. People wayyyy overhype this Lions draft because: 1. The second rounders were legit hits 2. The team was very successful this year (Gibbs may have played a small part in that, but Campbell did not whatsoever) 3. People like the narrative of the historical loser team turning it around, and they want to pinpoint an exact moment or event (i.e. this draft) where the turnaround happened 4. Gibbs and LaPorta were great fantasy football players Those four points in no way justify them spending their first round draft capital on a RB and LB. Absolutely ludicrous that people now adamantly defend that

I could tell this guy was a Michigan slap when he started talking about JJ being the only guy to elevate his progam in college. LMAO There wasn't a single game at Michigan where JJ was the reason they won. The team in 2021 won a B1G title and made the playoffs when he was just a bit player. The team hid him in all their big games. Take a look at what Penix did at Indiana and Washington. THAT is elevating a progam. He should actually be happier that his team won a national title with mediocre production from the QB, because that means it will be easier to replicate.

It's unfortunate that he was slurring his words because he was providing behind the scenes insights that not many insiders do. I know Spielman and many other front office guys would never tell you specifics on what they were thinking, especiallly for such a recent draft

I cant STAND people saying daniels has special traits with his running.... really? Because ive seen at least 1 every year come out who can run. Fields, richardson, lamar, now daniels. And they all get hurt from running. I dont want the pats to touch him.

Yo that dude was drunk as shit 😂. He said the best player in college football didn’t elevate his team. Where was Nabers and Thomas on any draft board last year? No where to be found. Stop playing with Jayden like he’s not an elite player. JJ is an average QB at best.
