Taking AMTRAK from Manassas, VA to New York City! | 20 Crescent Train (power outage)

In today's vlog, I take Amtrak from Manassas, Virginia to New York City! Join me as I take you on a tour of the Manassas train station & its surrounding area. I traveled on the 20 Crescent train that originates in New Orleans. Check out the inside of the train, including a tour of the seats, restroom and food car. I take Amtrak fairly often and enjoy traveling to New York City on it. The vlog gets a little crazy closer to the end with a power outage... and a surprise once I hit the streets of NYC. Watch until the end to see everything that happens!

Nice tour of Old Town Manassas and the Amtrak train to NYC. Best part of the video was the look on your face once you had gotten into your hotel room and referenced the crazy guy on the traffic light. Perhaps he was formerly a traffic cop who was replaced by automation but still had a love for being in the mix🤔. On a side note, I think you held it together pretty well when the power went out. I would have been a mess! JD

John Donut Thank you so much! Hahaha. I loved my look at the end too. I was like, “Did that really happen?” 🤷‍♀️ Who knows what was up with that guy? He didn’t look at the crowd gathered below at all. Yeah, the power outage was definitely strange in the dark tunnel. I thought it was the start of the zombie apocalypse! 😉☠️ I liked that I got to vlog it! Fun trip, and I get to go up to NYC again on Monday. Thanks for watching SO quickly after I posted! I've always wanted to go to the Manassas train station just so that I could take a photo and recreate the picture of Stephen Stills / Manassas album cover. I don't know if Stills ever lived there, but he also had a song called Thoroughfare Gap which is another Civil War town northwest of Manassas.

Thank you soo much for talking about the free parking at the Manassas train station. This part of people's journeys are mostly overlooked. I plan to travel from Norfolk VA to Orlando FL next year, but don't want the 6 hour layover in Richmond. Driving to Manassas and taking the train from there will be a faster trip with a shorter layover in Alexandria. The free parking there may make all the difference!

I have only taken the train once and it was to New York. It was a fun ride! Always good to let someone else drive, so you can chill and relax. I would of gone with foot rest, but foot stand or foot petal will work too. I liked the old town vibe the station gave in manassas. When the train lost power i was like zombie apocalypse time! J/k :) its 3am so going to hit up the next vlogs in the morning well after i sleep lol

Kirk Bates Thanks, Kirk! I don’t mind flying if it’s somewhere I need to fly to. For a place as close as NYC, it’s easier to take the train. Free parking & the train drops you off right in the heart of the city. I also don’t enjoy heights! Thanks for watching! I was supposed to fly to LA on Friday night, but I don’t think that’s happening now... I’m getting a root canal that morning! Wish me luck! 😷🦷
