Holy fuck I was tense when you had that chisel on the tube, that could have easily been a hospital trip right there! The inside of the glass is a vacuum that's what caused the shockwave, the thing at the end of the tube is an electron gun, like it said it doesn't produce dangerous radiation under normal operation, And finally yeah the voltages in this can kill you, the big red wire is on the flyback transformer which can hold very high voltages if not discharged correctly.
Oh, maybe I came on too strong Maybe I waited too long Maybe I played my cards wrong Oh, just a little bit wrong Baby I apologize for it I could fall or I could fly Here in your aeroplane And I could live, I could die Hanging on the words you say And I've been known to give my all And jumping in harder than Ten thousand rocks on the lake So don't call me baby Unless you mean it Don't tell me you need me If you don't believe it So let me know the truth Before I dive right into you You're a mystery I have traveled the world, there's no other girl like you No one, what's your history? Do you have a tendency to lead some people on? 'Cause I heard you do, mmh I could fall or I could fly Here in your aeroplane And I could live, I could die Hanging on the words you say And I've been known to give my all And lie awake, every day Don't know how much I can take So don't call me baby Unless you mean it Don't tell me you need me If you don't believe it So let me know the truth Before I dive right into you I could fall or I could fly Here in your aeroplane And I could live, I could die Hanging on the words you say And I've been known to give my all Sitting back, looking at Every mess that I made So don't call me baby Unless you mean it Don't tell me you need me If you don't believe it So let me know the truth Before I dive right into you Before I dive right into you Before I dive right into you

How very nice my comment was removed for liking an example of violent CRT implosion. The comment should apear in the aprove comment tab or something like that
Sorry chaps but this is irresponsible and thoroughly dangerous. The CRT contains a vacuum, which when released caused the ‘shock wave’. The metal band around the periphery of the CRT, which you hacked away at with a chisel, is called the rim band. It’s purpose is to deflect glass towards the back of the CRT (away from the user/viewer) were the glass envelope to be broken in an accident. Had the glass envelope fractured while you were hitting it at the back that spray of glass would have been propelled into your faces and, I guarantee, you would both now be blind, especially as you had no eye protection. NEVER screw around with a CRT, they are potentially very dangerous.
These two young men recently passed away trying to dis arm an unexploded ww2 bomb, saving a hospital from its blast. Please be respectful to their families in this trying time.
