I find kiwi scuff remover to be an amazing tool for boots, pretty much I brook a leather milk and the scuff remover and they have kept everything looking new and healthy.

Where did you get the shoe wax and other things?
@chill-ento6071

For the upper leather I use regular leather grease and shoe polish when necessary, for the sole I use a special leather-sole oil from Burgol, I don't use it for a long time, so I'll have to wait if the results are good or not, but I'm optimistic. It cares the soles without softening them.

To clean and treat/repair your things takes a less historically accurate turn, but is still necessary for an impression to save lots of money and time and general comfort. You need to find a balance between perfectly maintained gear and accurate, worn-looking gear.

True :) I realise that not everyone has a Fiebing´s Edge Kote on hand, but like you say a method to maintain your expensive boots.

How slippy are these boots? I've never owned hobnailed boots before and I'm thinking of getting them, but I'm concerned they will be too slippy for what I want to use them for.
@vintagemountaineeringandhi6060
Yes they are slippery on smooth hard surfaces. But are very good on of road or dirt tracks. Also good in the snow. But if the snow is a bit we, then it sticks to the hobnails.

Are they Waterproof
@vintagemountaineeringandhi6060
@vintagemountaineeringandhi6060 4 года назад
If you take care of them with oil and boot wax then you can waterproof them for a while, but it is a continues work ;)

Just a Little hint for u... The „ J“ in the thumbnail is actually an „I“.
@vintagemountaineeringandhi6060
@vintagemountaineeringandhi6060 4 года назад
About the capital "J" and "I". The "J" in this typeface (Potsdam) is similar to the "I". But for the "J" the letter the descender comes down below the baseline, but for the "I", the whole letter sits on the baseline. But thank you for noticing.

So what type of brand is good for waterproofing leather boots that you use
@vintagemountaineeringandhi6060
@vintagemountaineeringandhi6060 4 года назад
It is the Dr. Martens (Not Marlens :) ) balsam, that is very good. But also the Ko-cho-line and black shoe polish will do the trick. After a good use I put on the black shoe polish, let that dry over night then I use the Ko-cho-line the day after to soften up the leather.
