Loving the house updates. 100% agree with getting the pink room painted before you move in but I would go with the dusky pink instead. Dark will be so beautiful for the guest room and can be lightened with softer fabrics and soft furnishings. X
Stunning refurb! The pink room - I love the dusky pink on the woodwork but not the bubblegum pink. I think just a Rose white would look good with the dark pink. I love the windows and the old fashioned glass in the bathroom.
I’m catching up on all these Reno vlogs in order so I don’t know how it all ends up looking or even if it’s finished but I love the pink on the doors and trim! I’d either paint it all that colour or if you can get it mixed a few shades lighter then do the walls like that. Love the kitchen! Living room is gorgeous, the room next to it all I can picture is a library/reading room x

Looks so good! With the pink room the color of the doors feels more cohesive with the other colors in the house. I would repaint the walls a half tint of the door color. What about wallpapering the little bathroom. Looking forward to see it all decorated and cozy!
If you have a touch opening for that little door, it will look more streamlined and reduce the chances of hurting your legs hitting off it:) A corner table or an umbrella rack might work for the bottom of the stairs. Or even a hat stand with an umbrella rack combined.
If it was me, I'd paint the pink room cream or white and leave the cupboards that gorgeous dusky colour (if it's possible, I'd also paint the window frame that colour too!) 🩷🩷
Please get a little antique knocker/door knob for the eves door so when you have children you can make out it's some sort of fairy door or something to a magical world
Emily I think it is a great idea to paint the stairs rail darker because it will standout. I adore Cody resting in the kitchen and it was wonderful to see your father visit with you your home. 💕

I would just repaint it white & leave the doors an paint the trim with same color as the doors and then accent the walls with paintings & decor with that marvelous pink color as the doors !!!!!

If you’re not feeling the pink now, I would definitely repaint now while it’s still a construction site. If you don’t like whatever new color you paint it now, you can always paint it again after moving in and then it’s not any different than waiting til you move in to paint, except you get one extra color tryout. I think the color on the trim and closet doors would look nice on the walls. And just do monochromatic walls and trim. I think that shade of pink is more relaxing which is more fitting for a guest bedroom. The baby bubblegum pink is more energetic, which might be why it doesn’t feel right in a room meant for sleeping. Also I think the two pinks have different undertones and are clashing ever so slightly.
Where your upstairs nest is, couldn't you find a cupboard that's thin but tall enough to cover it, rather than being on show. So you just put a hole in the back of the board and access that way, and you can dress the side board up xx

Absolutely, the room has lots of natural light. You can bring in additional brightness with textiles and decor. I feel like the dusty pink goes well with the rest of your home as well. Very sophisticated and cozy.

Emily is very brave sleeping next to a crawl space lol I have one on my top floor & it put me off having bedrooms up there, I clearly watch too many horror films! lol 😅But your future kids will love that space to hide in or make into a den, for sure!

What tumble dryer have you gone for? If its a condenser i really wouldnt enclose it in a cupboard like that. The humidty will be mental and itll encourage mould x
it's not a good idea to put any obstructiom in the landing by the stair case, it is built as a safety space in case of a slip and fall, the space insures your clearence from the last step. Do this when you're in your house again, lay down in the landing and put your legs up the wall so your bottom touches; measure the distance from your head to the last step; you will notice your head does not stop on the last step. If you put anything there it will cause your head to be on the last step and that could fatally injure anyone who slips. One reality is accidents do happen and I want your family, friends and youelf to be safe. Hope your of enjoying your day..
I feel like you’ve been getting more likes recently because you’ve been showing a little bit more of your personality. You seem to show a lot more of your personal life and personality in Em Shels vlogs but cut out a lot in yours. It’s sad that you don’t feel able to show those things to your own followers!
