My vertigo was so bad I could not walk, I could not drive nor could I care for my disabled husband. I never knew when it was coming, very very stressful so I took the nuclear route, I had gentamicin injected into my inner ear. It took most of my hearing in that ear but you know? I haven't had a vertigo episode since that treatment, my life changed!

i've had meniere's for over 25 years. i've tried EVERYTHING. i've had ringing in my ears both ears for over 15 yrs. i done every diet and tried every meds or supplements. i started carnivore 12/26/23. tinnitus has gone out of my left ear. my right/affected ear has gone way down. the low sodium didn't do anything for me. i hope this diet helps you but maybe also try cutting out all carbs from your diet. i wished i had found carnivore 25 yrs ago. good luck to you. the vertigo is awful.

@@lisamarie8406 yes. 225 days on carnivore and my left ear tinnitus is gone. the only time i have ringing in my left ear is when i eat carbs/sweets. i'm planning on doing a month long water fast in october. i've heard and read that this will help tinnitus or in some cases cure it. i'm not hopeful for my affected ear being cured but maybe the ringing will continue to go down. good luck to you. i don't do gluten or dairy at all now.

Hi Betty. I’m very interested in your experience with the carnivore diet and Menieres. I have recently been diagnosed and I am keen on trying this diet to help with my symptoms. Would you mind if I asked you some questions regarding what you eat and drink etc? Kind regards, Josh.

Im in the somewhat early stages of Mesnieres, im 28, diagnosed this year but have had symtoms for over 3 years. The moment Nancy looked into the camera and spoke to me, i burst into tears, it was so warming and comforting from one person with Menieres to another ❤

please try cutting out all the carbs/sweets. i'm 70 and i got menieres when i was 49. i've tried all the dietary and medical treatments for menieres. none worked for me until i went 100% carnivore. 225 days carnivore now and the tinnitus in my left ear is completely gone and my "affected right" ear has gone way down. no more vertigo "attacks" i do experience vertigo for about a minute when i lay down at night and when i first get up in the morning. only last for about 1 minute each. i had severe vertigo attacks early on (at age 49). good luck to you and i understand how frighten and exhausting menieres can be. it won't kill us but it sure steals our lives for a number of years. please learn from my experience.

Also my tinnitus is that I hear very loud cicadas. Kinda like summer in the south. And burning sensation on the right side of my nose. Kinda like being hit in the without the pain but the tingling and burning sensation that goes from my nose to my right ear.

A couple of the commenters here sound like they need a heart check and to forget Menieres. I've had diagnosed Menieres for 60 years and medicine still knows nothing about it. There are theories like diet but Menieres is so iregular the diet theory is wearing a bit thin. It certainly isn't the cause but it may influence attacks. 60 years ago standard treatment was fluid tablets but I never had a Doctor writing repeat/ongoing prescriptions. It was like medicine was saying we don't know but take these because they won't hurt you and I can get you out of my surgery. To begin with as an early teenager attacks probably came on 3 times a year and were severe and sudden. Over the years the severe attacks decreased and I learnt to recognise the onset of the milder attacks and found by trial and error that quickly taking a panadol before the vomiting started did stop them from progressing. They don't work for sudden severe attacks because it's not possible to keep anything down because of vomiting. Over the years the rate of attacks decreased to the point I haven't had a severe attack in 20 years. There is a cure for Menieres which is surgically removing the inner ear of the affected ear. That sounds drastic but at seventy I wonder now because I'm deaf in that ear and the tinnitus comes in loud and clear. Surgery would have meant getting rid of the disease and the tinnitus. Worth thinking about.
@Bob31415
@Bob31415 3 дня назад
There is shunt surgery that does not involve removing the inner ear. The astronaut Alan Sheppard had it done in 1969. It's unbelievable to me that no one in the comments is even aware of this. That was 55 years ago and it cured him. Two years later he was walking on the Moon.

I'm 30 I also have vertigo, but I can't go for work or do anything in my life except rest. My problem is when I strain for some work ill get neck pain and back head pain. So I can't do anything which is horrible for me. So if any one with vertigo can say alternative solution that how you lead your life related to daily activities.

I know it's been 6 months, maybe You already figured something out but in case you didn't here's what I learned from menieres. First thing is that the neck or nape pain was a consecuence of vertigo and not the cause of it, so if vertigo goes away that pain should as well, unless you have stiffness in your neck too. Second thing is doing some excersice that involves decent amount of movement. When I started going to the gym I noticed improvement but when my doctor told me that I had to go out for walks or dance or something that involved more movement I started going out jogging and it's been working wonders so far. Literally the first day jogging/running I could feel the heavyness and fullness of my most affected ear go away Third thing is to reduce sodium intake and in my case I reduced alcohol intake because I noticed that just SOMETIMES makes me more dizzy so I avoid it when I feel unsteadiness, some people reduces coffee intake as well but in My case I don't notice any changes with coffee. I once read a comment saying that beetroots where helping so I decided to try it out and it seems to help with symptoms as well. Now, everything I mentioned are things that help me and you'll have to go through some trial and error (especially with foods) to figure out what helps your symptoms or what makes them worse. I hope it helps :)

My recommendation that helps me, Dimenhydrinate 50mg. Which is the active ingredient in Dramamine. W mart sells it for low cost. It helps me function daily. Also B complex & D3 with K2 vitamins help me out. Low salt & sugar intake, lower caffeine, and good sleep habits. Lmk if this helps you. 👌🏻🤞🏻

First episode (vertigo, vomiting, fever like symptoms) for hours in Oct 2020, a year later i had a few more and I noticed hearing loss on my left side. Doctor said it was BPPV. He got me referral for ENT. Between that apt and seeing the ENT, it was about 4 months out. I was having attacks 3-4 times a week. By Jan '22 I was diagnosed and I've only have a few attacks in a couple years. Get my hearing aid next week too.

🤔 I have found the best thing that has worked out for me is the motion sickness drug called Dramamine, which greatly reduces the dizziness/ vertigo. I buy the generic version at W mart. It's active ingredient is Dimenhydrinate 50mg. It's an equate brand which is way more affordable. I rely on it to function daily. It's well worth a try.
