@warlockal the thing that makes this song more about 300 is because those are direct quotes from the movie. the title itself comes from 300, I.E. the verse saying "This is the Shield. This is the Spear. This is Sparta, Hell is near. Never falter, never fear. THIS IS MADNESS!!!" the direct quote being "This is Sparta, THIS IS MADNESS!!!"
300 references - The "meme spawning" scene, the battle of the hot gates (including the fight against the "immortals") then Queen Gorgo's speech about freedom towards the end.
I agree, this songs sounds like it is written for 300. I mean it quotes the movie several times. I like the song tho and i cant really complain because i love 300 as well as god of war haha
@V8Thrasher88 you should hear taking dawn when chris's brother use to play guitar with them. its was pretty heavy compared to what they r now but there solos are incredible.
It !was! written about 300, but as it has a spartan theme they put it in, it actually has nothing to do with God Of War, i mean it's even called "This Is Madness "Pile The Persians High" - I don't remember Persians featuring heavily in the God Of War series
where can I download this song? it is a nice song for gaming, and i don't like it when I always have to start that song again. but it is a nice song : )
I don't think there's any doubt that this song is about 300. "Conquered Crowns And Severed Brows" - sound much like the Persian messenger arriving at the beginning? "Razor Rain The Sun To Tame, Blotting Out The Skie" - Sound much like the Persian arrows blotting out the sun? ("We Will Fight In The Shade") i think that's pretty conclusive. Just for the record I'm not trying to be argumentative, i think this song is kick ass and definitely fits in with the God Of War style
@flosthebos This song isnt their best you need to check out their debut album and then comment. Im sure they might have atleast 1 song that youll like...hopefully, unless you like Heavy Metal.
@szabix1992 Dude, Kratos is the main character of God of War game series. Actually the series just concluded. MC decided to add in Kratos into the newest installment of MC. You should check out the God of War games, expecially the third 1
@darthkiller14 If you think that's what to expect from all metal bands, that is sort of ignorant my friend. This band does justice to Kratos and the game series and i believe others will agree with me on that one.
@rocknrollfreedom Dude, Maiden and Priest were 70's bands no matter what way you try to spin it. They were still popular in 80's, sure, but they were huge in the 70's, and by your definition, what decade they belong is defined by popularity (a silly concept, but whatever). Either way, your own logic makes them a 70's band.
