Taking Every DoorDash Order Until I Get a $0.00 Tip 

My experience has been that people with the least amount of money are usually the ones that tip SOMETHING because they understand the need. It's the wealthy people that rarely tip for me.

Nuggs it is still 100% on the customer to pay you adequately if they want food from a restaurant that is 11 miles away from them. Let’s agree to disagree, it’s a luxury service not a necessity.

The only way DD/UBER can fix the issue of high milage orders not being worth taking it to either jack up the delivery fee based upon miles or just not let place orders like that for delivery.

Nah screw that. If somebody isn’t willing to give you an extra couple bucks for you to bring them food to their home in your own car using your own gas, then they don’t deserve to be delivered to. ESPECIALLY if you’re 11 miles away from a restaurant.

If I'm going to order i will tip more because I'm 15-20 minutes from restaurants and that's why i usually don't order

I 100% agree with you that dasher's need to stop taking low tip or no tip orders, then complaining and freaking out about it later. It's absurd and juvenile. If you're constantly being "tricked" into taking them (through stacked offers or EBT), then change the way you are doing your job. Saying that, as long as DD and others are NOT going to pay us more than a couple bucks to deliver, it really is the customer's responsibility to tip according to their order and the miles they are away from the restaurant.

Doordash support telling you to convince the merchant to remake the order is wild 😂 if they tell you someone else already picked that order up they 100% are not remaking the order. I’ve had a few times where the merchant remade a order for me but it’s only cause It’s from spots I pick up regularly & they did it to benifit me cause I’m cool w them

When I used to deliver for Papa Johns and Jet's Pizza and they charged $5 for delivery we ( the drivers ) received the entire amount. Surely there must be some sort of law that's being broken when these food delivery apps charge a delivery fee of $6.50-$12 and $2 or less goes towards the delivery.

DD should just make $2 per 4 mile threshold basepay. So, 5-8 miles $4, 9 to 12 $6, etc. Then, just make non tippers max radius 4 miles. $1 - 9.9% 8 miles. Over 10% 8+ miles. Now, this doesn't make the orders great or even good, but someone will take it at least.

When a customer is so far away from a restaurant, DD should not even give the customer an option to order from that particular restaurant. Or they need to increase the base pay to accommodate for mileage. Chik Fil A and Krispy Kreme are notorious restaurants in my area for low pay, high mileage orders...On the flip side, why would a customer want to order food from a restaurant 11 miles away? The quality of the food is guaranteed to be compromised.

I’d love for you to come to Australia and see what Doordash looks like in a country that doesn’t have tipping culture (technically we do on DD, but it makes up 1% of my earnings) DD pays all of our wages here, not the customer, orders start at $5.50 and I’ve had offers as high as $50 for big shop & delivers - this comes directly from DD.

When I saw Taco Bell, i knew it was a wrap! 😂. But I completely agree with you on the tipping culture. I dont get why this country is still so stuck on it. DD charges all these fees, even charges more for orders from restaurants far away but will still only pay $2 for 11 miles. That customer had to pay an "expanded range" fee. Why wouldn't that get passed on to the driver?? Companies should pay the people doing the work for them and representing their brand. The customers are already paying the company for the service or product.

Hey nuggs was curious if you noticed..when DD gives you two orders at the same time...how they don't give you the minimum base pays for both oreders?.... But if you get one order and accept it and then get another order and accept it separately , you get both minimum base Pays. But you don't get both minimum base pays when they send you two at the same time. That's really wrong and suspect. They are cheating their drivers. Has this been something that's been happening for a long time? Or is there something new ? Their definitely should be some kind of lawsuit. they are cheating their drivers Out of some of their base pays. They're skimming and hoping Noone notices. Like for example, I just got 2 orders at the same time And my base pay was three dollars That's not right. Im supposed to get 4 50...2.25 each order. I'm making two deliveries. Whether they are bundled or not makes no difference. It's dirty

More seriously: Would you like to work toward a contractor union to improve pay from doordash and other delivery services, making sure there is a area guaranteed minimum? I have been floating this with people in my area and customers seem to be very receptive to it. Now I understand doordash itself would hate it, but i feel it would be fairer to dashers in the long run, especially for those who are and want to do dashing full-time.

It seems most of the commenters are drivers. IMHO, you don’t have to accept non-tipping orders. So, we, as drivers have the power. If you choose to accept an order that you deem worthless, that’s on you. It’s very simple. I just recently accepted an order where UberEATS paid me $21 and cx tipped only a buck. DD would never do this, but I did do an order a couple of days ago where DD paid me $5 plus the cx $5 tip. On the other hand, I feel bad for the customers that tip generously and have to subsidize non-tippers. This is one reason I only take stacked orders of $10+ This is my way of tryna weed out non-tippers. I have noticed that people that used to tip 4-5 dollars now tip less and I think one of the reasons is that DD combines their order with people that do not tip. Also, some have even started using apps like UberEATS where you can remove the tip. Dog eat dog world.

I’m so tired of hearing people rant about no tip. This is a business folks. Stop obsessing over things you can’t control. Take the offer only if it’s worth your time. That’s it. Obviously the delivery company is counting on you to take the loss on orders so they can make more profit. Don’t do it. Don’t take the loss and then complain. That is not a good business strategy. Every offer you do is an opportunity to learn what is profitable for you and what isn’t.

Bro. Me and my wife Dash too and we ran a test. She placed an order and put a tip and brooooooooo, guess what happen. We asked the dasher that brought the order if the tip went threw and it was a fat ZERO! After we put a 5 $ tip. It was gone bro. We told him to wait as we went inside and got him a few dollars cash we had at hand. Messed up

I don’t normally do earn by time because high mileage no tip orders are extremely common. Yeah I still get them now and then on earn by offer but more than half the offers on earn by time are no tip 10+ miles

I made it to two orders today before a no tip order.

Here's what some drivers + customers don't understand. Many times the customer orders directly from the restaurant, then the restaurant outsources the delivery to Doordash. The restaurant can do what it wants with the tip. They can keep it + report 0 to Doordash. Stop always blaming the customer. Also, in reality, who the fuck tips BEFORE a service is performed anyway?
