Ken Gullette demonstrates a drill to improve your ability to take an opponent's ground, an important skill in Xingyiquan. The goal is to drive through your attacker and be standing on his ground, not only doing physical but also psychological damage. This drill involves compressing and exploding off the supporting leg to deliver power at a distance while maintaining your balance. Ken is wearing a fist pad as a precaution because of being on blood thinners for the past few months (doctor's orders). At age 68, despite losing a lung and having a heart issue, he is still teaching and studying the internal Chinese martial arts. Ken's website with nearly 1,000 video lessons and live online classes teaching Xingyiquan, Chen Taiji and Bagua Zhang is at www.internalfightingarts.com. Please like and share this content.
