I remember when we started doing the ADSOM thing, there was almost this moment, when shooting the "eye out" scene where Rain & I were like "EVERYONE CLEAR THE AREA SO KELSEY CAN BE COMFORTABLE!!!" to now it's just like "plop... out, it's a part of me". You've come a long way.
This is such an important video! I just lost my eye to cancer about 2 weeks ago so i’ve been doing my research and watching videos of people’s stories. I was afraid of this change becoming a new insecurity to deal with but seeing other people with the same disability as me look absolutely beautiful and badass has made me look forward to my new life. so THANK YOU!! thank you so much for posting your story. i know it must have been a difficult journey to get to where you are now and i am insanely proud!! .) 💜
You're definitely going to inspire many people about many things with this video -especially in terms of courage. I'm so happy on your behalf that you're this confident, smiley, and cool while talking about it! Oh and looking forward to your new projects hehe
I like the way you look with the eye out, it looks really clean, pure and nice, not at all as I was expecting actually. This is why it's important to share and show, I had obvious misconseptions and thoughts about it and I love how you broke them down for me. You are beautiful
It's been a long time since I've watched your channel and hearing that "Hello you. I hope you're good" just hit my brain in a spot I didn't know existed
I'm a huge medical stuff-nerd (and pursuing a degree in it) so I was so hyped to see you take out the eye and show it off bc it was so cool!! And I'm also super happy you feel comfortable with it
I’m so happy you’re comfortable enough to show this part of yourself. One question I have is how often do you have to take your eye out to clean it? And also what is the cleaning process for it?
I started following you shortly after sisters of house Black, I've watched as your confidence and self esteem grew while playing a character that seemed tailor made for you in ADSOM. You're a beautiful young person, the confidence and love you have for every part of yourself now, makes you even more so. I'm so happy that you're so happy.
I'm so happy and proud of you Kelsey for reaching this stage of confidence in your life ❤️ Thank you for sharing this true you with us. Lots of love! 🌼💕
I think your eye is the coolest thing ever! I'm super happy to see you so comfortable!!! One of my favorite dance videos you uploaded was the bad apple dance with Tokyo and Osaka :D (I watched you back when I was in high-school and obsessed with Japan and anime and I was attempting to learn dances :P)
Love how confident you are! It really inspires me to be more confident myself. You are such a gorgeous person, inside and out. Sending lots of love 💛💛💛
This video genuinely gave me so much warmth 🥺💖 you're such a wonderful beautiful human being! It makes me so happy you finally feel confident in yourself 💖 you ARE powerful! Never forget that❣ thank you for sharing your experience 💖
You’re adorable Kelsey! And you’re beautiful inside and out! We love you! Thank you for sharing your authentic self! 💕💕 as a fellow filmmaker you inspire me so so much! 💕💕
I'm so glad that you have gotten to this stage in your life!!!! I love your projection of confidence and love hearing about your self acceptance journey!!! We love you Kelsey! ❤
Kelsey you don't have to be ashamed about your eye and Since I watched you 5 years ago I would watch you Everyday. You are beautiful and your cat Is so grateful that they have you. Love you kelsey
Idk I feel becoming more comfy with "unconventional" parts of yourself with time Ig there is huge power in taking the conversation about your own disabilities and/or illnesses (in my case the latter) or overall situation back from other people Imo being confident and taking agency is more beautiful and attractive than any able-bodied, (mentally) healthy, cisnormative beauty standards could ever be
I’ve been watching you for so long, and it makes my heart so happy that you’ve grown to be so comfortable with acknowledging that it’s a part of you. I don’t think it inherently affects who you are - I feel as though you’d be just as radiant and lovely regardless of your disability. I don’t know if it’s appropriate to be so proud of someone who is older and technically a stranger, BUT I AM SO PROUD AND HAPPY FOR YOU! Much love, I can’t wait to see more from you Kelsey! 🌷
Grrrrrl, this is a bragging right! So cooool 💕💕💕 I'm the queen of avoiding stuff because of my insecurities, we need people that can overcome that to tell the rest of us how
been watching since the japan dance video days and I just have to say I'm so so happy for you! This really put a huge stupid smile on my face! You're amazing! Have a lovely day!
I've met a couple people with no eyes but I've never seen someone remove their eye. That was very interesting and it really doesn't change the way you look. It's cool you're getting used to not having it in and celebrating something that's unique about yourself.
I'm genuinely so proud of you. I have been on your channel for quiet sometime now. I think it's so wonderful to see you getting more and more comfortable about your eyes. ❤❤❤
Just want to say thank you for making this. I've had to use a walking stick since my early 20s and always felt embarrassed but your confidence and love of just being you helps as a reminder the stick doesn't matter ^-^
It is always a wonderful thing when I see another human being finding themselves. That is what the journey of life is all about. Finding true understanding of yourself helps you to see the rest of the world in a different light. Best wishes.
I used to think you had a lazy eye or smth like that before seeing some video about it. But what I found the most interesting in this one was your realization about the issue behind it and not just being about the eye!
Godness Kelsey I'm sooo happy that you're comfortable with your prosthetic eye! You're really spreading a great message to lots of insecure people ❤ Also, I want to try that mint tea somehow
I'm curious about why it's the shape it is, you said that it's the shape of your socket, but aren't eyes usually spherical? So why wouldn't your socket fit a spherical false eye?
You do look cool with your eye out! hahah And I'm so happy you're feeling more comfortable with yourself, it shows! Whenever I watch your videos I can't help but smile the entire time, your energy is contagious, Kelsey! Keep being yourself!
Thanks so much Kelsey for this wonderful video! Next Monday I have an appointment with the ocularist for my first eye prosthesis (a month ago I had my left eye eviscerated due to neovascular glaucoma). So I just came across this video and have found so much inspiration and confidence! Huge thanks for sharing, warm regards from the tropics!
Hey, can I just say how awesome you are? Just for like being. I love your aura, like it's all positive vibes. Also, as someone who does have lazy eye it was a big moment for me when I first saw you on The Black Sister fanfilm. I know you don't have the same thing but it was kinda like the only thing I ever saw of someone looking like me who was just absolutely killing it because I have struggled sm with this thing and still do. There are countless days when I can't even look in the mirror. But seeing you in the film was a big thing for me cuz it had nothing to do with that particular thing. You were just being awesome like you are. And I think it's really necessary for people to have that kind of space where they can just be appreciated for their art regardless of these minor things.
I wish I knew you personally because I just want to hug you and tell you how amazing you are! You're not beautiful *despite* your eye, you're beautiful because of it, because it has helped shape who you are. Keep being awesome and I'll keep supporting from across the pond!
OMG I admire you so much! You are such a beautiful person in every single way ✨. So happy to see you talking about acceptance and confidence in such a joyful way 💙.
Hi kelsey, I really loved your attitude towards life.My life story is same as just like your's.Like, in school people used to react, "what's wrong with his eyes" and I really used to get depressed then. Now I am also very much comfortable and have accepted this as my part and enjoying and trying to do good things in my life. Thank you for inspiring .. ❤❤
Hi Kelsey, I was talking to my 6 year old daughter today about prosthetic eyes. She wanted to see, so we had a look on youtube and you came up. We watched a couple of your videos, she absolutely loved the custom ones you have. As do I, you frickin' rock them like a boss. A beautiful boss at that. Have a great xmas and wish you all the best for the new year and beyond. Take care and thanks for doing what you do, and for being you.
Congratulations on filming this! We can feel, watching this, how much of a step it is to take. Thank you for sharing this part of you with us, I'm looking forward to all your next videos!
I feel more confident wearing my contacts. With my lazy eye that doesn't move because of watching you for so long. Thank you for helping me build confidence in being who I am.
Hi Kelsey I'm a new subscriber I found your channel from "Sisters of house black" and I've been watching your videos ever since I think you are beautiful just the way you are with and without the eye and I think you should just embrace your disability because you are beautiful
I loved watching you grow over the years!! I have a lazy eye and had always since childhood into my 20’s when I gained confidence to tell people there comment is unkind and educate them why. I’m 36 now and have Ménière’s Disease which I’m old using a cane since my 20’s and hearing aids. It was super helpful to hear how your journey has been. You’re always a thing of beauty. Hugs from the states ☺️
Kelsey, I from Brazil and I have to do enucleation, you help so much, really love your videos... Make feel so better about my surgery.... All my love for y🥰🥰
Been a long time fan (since the Bad Apple dance) and I'm glad to see you're doing well and are happy! Seeing your progress is wonderful. Wishing you well 💖💖
I didn't realise you had a prosthetic eye until like a couple of days after I found you on youtube....then I stumbled upon your first eye video you did on youtube...sat down and listened to you talk about the story and It literally didn't take me long to love everything about you!!!....you always pump out amazing content...you're an amazing artist and actress and such a beautiful QUEEN!!!!!
randomly stumbled on this video. i did not know what to expect behind that fake eye, maybe a second of surprise or disgust but you know what ? nothing. not even a milisecond of disgust or negative feelings. you stayed as lovely, lovable, "must-protectable", cherishable, even fuckable (with all respects) as before taking out that eye. dont know much about you but its always a treat to see and feel others confidence and beauty shine ! cheers !
That's freaking cool, thanks for sharing! And yeah, you're totally beautiful. ❤ I'm so interested in prosthetics - if I hadn't pursued art in college, prosthetic design would have been a serious path for me. So, so cool.
Thank you Kelsey for showing this now i don't feel Alone anymore. i have an prosthetic eye too and it's so Nice to see this. you are awesome thank you Kelsey
I was 2.5 years old. when the same thing happened to me and I lost my left eye. I learned how to deal with people after many years. But still, I am feeling missing something. My life would be better. I was so sad along all my school life. I didn't have a girlfriend because of this reason. I didn't have enough self-confidence. I am very proud of you to see you're so confident. I came across this video while searching for a prosthetic eye company to renew mine. Honestly, I didn't see myself in the video how I am looking but you're looking great and it is hard to realize your eye is a prosthetic, only when you move your eyes, it is a little bit understandable.
I remember when I started watching your videos back in 2018 and you weren't comfortable w/o in on youtube if i remember correctly. Im glad you are now comfortable enough to share! Obviously humans have a curious mind :)
Also you may have already answered this but you had Retinoblastoma, Did you have to get any Chemotherapy or Laser at that time? Was the eye immediately removed after diagnosis or did they start off trying to save the eye but that didn't work out?
I discovered you years ago and I've had your House Black film in my watch later queue forever, and recently decided to give it a watch after being gifted Hogwarts Legacy, which has ignited my appetite for more HP content. I really like your open and bubbly personality, and wish you the best, and all the success now and in the future!
8:24 THIS! exactly this! i also feel the same way about these type of compliments. similar to when people tell me that i looked a little bigger than i was or a little smaller than i was the last time they see me in the name of 'complimenting tht im pretty' or wtvr. if u wanna say a person's beautiful, u don't have to comment about their physical, just say "wow i think your outfits nice" or really just say "you're beautiful"
