I love how after the Trisha incident with the advice segment, the podcast decided to keep going in that direction without her. The advice segments have by far been the most pleasant to listen to. I love this podcast so much.

Ethan should do a confessions episode where people write in short anonymous confessions in which he reads them out and discusses them.

No hate towards her, just a dumb observation I thought of and typed within a span of 2 seconds. While listening to the guy do his stand up bit I started crying laughing. Not because his joke was so funny, but because I was watching two grown men wearing gecko outfits in front of a green screen respectfully critiquing his routine and asking if he'd like to restart the bit again with their notes lmao

Lyle is so chill and relaxed he just gets it he really mixes well with Ethan their comedic timing together is so funny

Ethan saying “You owe her nothing” was the most reassuring thing - I’ve put a boundary for my mom the last 6 months saying I would contact her when I’m able to talk to her in a way that is appropriate on the suggestion of my therapist. It’s been so much less stressful. She still tries to talk to me and I’ll reach out on holidays but I’m still working on healing and I needed to hear that Ethan because guilt is a powerful thing.

My mother told me I was fat my entire life. When I was finally around 23 I told my mom I wish that she didn’t tell me I was fat and that I should have been happy with my size before. That I should have been worrying about other things than my weight because I wasn’t even fat! She had the nerve to tell me: “if I didn’t tell you that you were fat, then you would have been”. Those words will forever stick with me and I vow to break this cycle with my future child.

Not everyone needs their mom. Some moms are extremely abusive. It's okay not to have your mom in your life. Sometimes that is the better option. It's called narcissistic abuse, and it's devastating.

Hearing Alexa talk about her mother-daughter relationship hit so close to home and it was so refreshing to hear Ethan and gecko man give such refreshing advice and validation to the reality of how toxic a narcissistic mother can be. Because a lot of gaslighting is involved in these kinds of relationships and will start to make you feel crazy and like your emotions are invalidated. I’m sitting here before work and was not expecting to hear that conversation and I’m so glad I did. Ethan, thank you for always being a reasonable human and constantly putting yourself in other peoples shoes. You really are an empath dude. Much love.

To the kid who wanted to do stand up: I’m proud of you for calling in and talking about your situation for real! It’s not easy to be vulnerable live on air like that. The job market right now is trash and making jokes about that isn’t easy. Nor is it easy to make jokes about the often stressful and dehumanizing interview process these companies put people through! It’s hard right now even for folks like me with established careers (I’m 30) so I’m sure it’s even more difficult for younger people. And trying to do stand up about it on top of it,especially at such a young age before you’ve really had an opportunity to find your artistic voice, is particularly challenging I’m sure. Just keep moving forward and finding your voice & confidence, the rest will come ☮️🧡

My mom treated me like that, too, minus the competition part. Just straight up everything that was wrong with me 24/7 until the day I moved out. We don't speak anymore, and I've never been happier. I feel healed. The separation is 100% worth it and I think she should keep her at a distance right now. She'll know when it's the right time to try and speak with her mom, and it shouldn't be on her mom's terms at all. Parents being in their adult children's lives is a PRIVILEGE, not a right.
