Ksanti, which is translated as both ‘patience’ and ‘tolerance’, is the Buddhist art of being able to maintain a positive approach when things go wrong. It gives us the opportunity to choose beneficial reactions that are not driven by our usual compulsive mental habits of anger and jealousy, and helps us move towards forgiveness. It is one of the most essential skills we can learn to help us lead a happier, drama-free life.
Anger may appear instantaneously, but it arises as a process. With mindfulness we can slow this process down, become aware of the stages that aggravate our impatience, so it does not have to turn to anger.
Loving kindness is the opposite of anger. When our heart is full of kindness there is no space for anger to arise. Patience is the antidote to anger. Discover methods to cultivate this essential life skill, which is the key to keeping a calm and clear mind in any difficult situation.
How do we come to have more peace in our mind? By forgiving others and forgiving ourselves. This entails more than just ‘letting go’, it also means being able to stop dwelling on hurt and anger, and turning our mind in a positive direction so we can experience peace of mind.
This course is suitable for students of all levels.
