Forget the quarter mile time. The mph down the quarter mile shows the power increase. Average was 1mph increase from before and after. That's a real number you can use.
Did you say 'Traction on' at the start? I'd be launching that with Traction off, it has a soft limiter otherwise. I've done some 0-60 testing and found Sport mode/traction off gives the best results. I've had 4.8s to 60, I'm 100kgs as well.. so easily a little quicker with an average sized driver haha. Either way... certainly an improvement with the intake.
So true. It's small engine needs to be revived hard as it's not that powerful but it's light so use it. Stock GR in Aus getting 13 flat and try it in the dry if you can will help. PS Clutch dumb at 6000rpm is the sweet spot.😎
I really appreciate that you guys purely fact find and don't try to over sell things. Quarter mile racing has some basic formulas to calculate power and they have proven particularly accurate over the ages. That said you had an average gain of 1mph with the airbox and at stock weight that equates to a 15HP improvement. As you said all the variables exist, but that's a solid improvement that I feel reflects the original testing.
Just sat in one today, this thing PULLS!. The sound system makes it feel like theres a massive V12 right behind you, for q.6 and 3 cylinders this thing is amazing.
Focus on trap speed , that will give you a true measurement of hp ,time does not matter , use the same line of the drag strip and the same rpm changes , what you did of measuring from 100 to 160km its right too ,well at the end it give you 1,6 km more of trap speed ( 15 to 17 hp gain aprox) on a basically stock car and that its pretty good 👍🏻 .Regards
Something sounds off with that exhaust? What system is it? There's a horrible ringing/resonance noise through the rev range. At least, thats how it comes over on this video.
Most people forget, on a sticky clued dragstrip cars are slower. This strip preparation is meant for big power and hot dragtyres for keeping up traction.
I think the stock car has more in it with a more aggressive launch, less rev limiter hitting & a driver who is used to 1/4m in a swift manual. It’s so frustrating watching a drag being done so poorly
Pretty good Results for the Eventuri Air Intake!!! How about an Wagner Intercooler that cools the Air down from the Turbo. That will also give an boost to the Stock Power. Eventuri + Wagner Intercooler must be perfect for an Stock GR Yaris. Would be around 285HP at the Engine. With an Milltek Exhaust it could be a little bit more and better Sound. THX for your Reviews.
@@EvolveAutomotive welcome, loving your products always lads! Works of Art and works of art that work damn well to make a car quick, have better cooling etc. Best of the best lads 😍🙌❤️
I know they make beautiful intakes but that is beyond description. I am waiting to get the whole system for my X3M Comp! I can't afford it yet. I wish we could get the GR here in the US. I would trade in my Stinger GT2 in a second. I almost did on a veloster N but im not crazy about looks. GR looks BA. Only Toyata I would purchase besides the BMW Supra. B58 is a torque monster but S58 is a monster!
What would be better, is in gear acceleration. Stock V Intake. No changing gears. Still debating to buy an intake or not. So in gear times would be a better indicator.
There are independent dyno graphs, 1/4 miles times and you still want more? Thats more than enough to demonstrate its the real deal and pre orders for the intake reflect that most people are satisfied with the data.
@@EvolveAutomotive Thanks for the reply. Sorry, I've not seen the independent graphs. Do you have a link? I was just commenting on the video. Just thought in gear times would be a good and interesting video for you to make to show the difference the intake makes. Enjoyed the video, but as you commented. Changing gear is always a variable.
Eventuri try to put out as much meaningful data as possible. If you haven't watched the development videos I would highly recommend. Owners are then more than encouraged to do their own testing and share it.
@@matthewpiedt6177 the cilinder number has nothing to do with it. Its just how this exhaust sounds, not so nice. I had a Daihatsu Charade GTti once, had a nice deep sound
Need a better exhaust. The induction sound is beautiful though, and that from just an intake. Hear the difference at 9:23 , It has a nice deep sound (try to focus on just the induction). The whistle from that custom exhaust just ruin it, that's it.
Just commented similar. The exhaust system on this has a horrible metallic ringing sound. I've a system on mine and it doesn't sound anything like that.
@@EvolveAutomotive What power is it running with the exhaust and intake? Stock it was 269 wasn't it? I guess it should be touching 300 without even a remap.
Hi, together, i have installed the eventuri already and want to install now a catch can system. Does somebody know, what System is compatible with the eventuri. I'm not sure is enough place for the airtec catch can or the catch can from Turbozentrum. Thanks for give answer back soon
@@nonameyet2205 I have stock A35AMG limo and raced with two YGR. They were from one to two lenght behind me. It accelerates worse than AMG 》140kmh. Maybe those Australian YGR were did time on drag strip mate?
@@skylinedrag Yes it was on a drag strip, btw i've just found out that the australian and the japanese GRY has 200kw (268hp) so a bit more power than the european version 192kw (257hp)
It sounds like a pea in a drum doesn't it, you'd probably be able to iron that out if you went with a true custom exaust where your able to modify the wadding and the amount of boxes whilst not sacrificing weight reduction using titanium and Inconel.
Realistically no useful data. How does fuel level change? Driver improvement? Weather conditions so on and so on. With the new product always going 2nd and no switching back to the stock product for validation not much useful data to rely on. Looks good tho
Now I ain't no hater.. I have my air intake coming in 2 weeks.... but why did you guys pick that exhaust, it sounds like shit. What's with that buzzing at high rpm.?
Let's face it's its for looks, and it looks great, it was never going to give more than 5hp same as any other closed intake, it does however seem to have some real Engineering, and it does fit nice and let's face it even throw it's largely useless I'd probably buy one just to hear the turbo and to retain the OEM look and fit and a genuine cold air intake.
@@EvolveAutomotive hey, I'd like to own GR come 2023 or whenever they come available, if I do this is the only intake on the list, it's easy the best designed of the bunch,
The problem is not proving that makes power, it clearly makes more power but the cost is prohibitive as it is in 100% of the carbon fiber air boxes. I said it a million time, why not making air filter/boxes with simple, durable and cheap to make ABS plastic? ABS is undestructible and it has the same gains at a 1/10 or 1/20 fraction of the carbon fiber. I rather do a PVC pipe.
Eventuri have made plastic variants of their intakes before that are cheaper. They do not sell well compared to the Carbon Fibre version, making it a poor business decision when you factor in the tooling costs for plastic variants.
