Sadly the creator of this mash-up has passed away. His name was Erwin Beekveld and he died on 30th of march 2022 aged 52. Thank you for all the joy you gave us, Erwin. Rest In Peace
The true story of how the stories came about are almost as crazy. He created the elvish languages for the fun of it and basically decided these languages needed their own history and culture to go with them
17 years ago... 17 damn years ago... How time flies... and yet, here I am. And this still is just as amusing as it was the first time. Classics truly never die, do they?
Oh no… They never came back- But I did every year, every month, every week, I could sing this and listen to it and nothing else the rest of my life- I love this-
Every time this pop ups in the recommended section you just have to click it. It's that classic good. See you again in 3 years fellow friends, for I'm being taken to Isengard now
Oh, it's a bit older than that. Notice how there's no Return of the King footage? Back before RU-vid, when internet video was just starting to become viable, you'd find videos like this on personal websites that might have like 12 videos total.
This video shaped my 20s and now I married an elvish looking chick and moved to just outside of Portland where I was given a ring of power with Mt. Doo... I mean Hood visible from my back yard.
33 years old and my first Christmas day alone, but that's alright. I'm watching the Lord of the Rings Extended Edition on DVD. Merry Christmas to one and all who see this now and in future. This is a beautiful gift.
I learned a few things.. they are taking the hobbits to Isengard. A elf really wants to know where Gandalf is and he really wants to speak to him. And Gollum is deaf.
I watched Two Towers after knowing about this and seeing loads of memes about it, and I couldn't take the scene seriously at all. I was just shoving my hand over my mouth trying not to laugh
My best friend just finished watching the movies for the first time in a marathon with me. Had to show this to her, of course. She started laughing hysterically. RIP Erwin, thanks for the laughs.
I was so ignorant I didn't know there was the 20th anniversary screening of ROTK on 11 of April... and now I don't know if there'll be a screening on 19 December I hope there is one
an ancient meme from ancient times, when the land of youtube was rich and full of life. y'all should pay some respects, also Rest In Peace Erwin Beekveld By creating he gave us so much joy
This video was my first introduction to the LOTR series and now that I’ve finally seen the trilogy, I can safely say that I couldn’t stop laughing when this scene came up 🤣 I had to pause the movie because I was laughing too much and singing the song
+Rodrigo Rivers Actually, it was less. They set out from Hobbiton on September 22, and the Ring was destroyed on March 25 the following year. It took them forever and a day to get back though. You can check out all this in the Appendixes after RotK, Tolkien laid the timeline in painstaking detail. It's quite fun to see which events happened at the same time.
@@diabl2masterit surprised me. I’m old; this video was originally released 17 years ago. At the time, online communities were exclusively weirdos and outcasts; the idea that movie stars or other celebrities would be aware of anything online was completely crazy. When I saw Orlando Bloom singing this song, I realized things were changing forever regarding the online world.
Watched LOTR and the Hobbit a few weeks ago for the first time. Amazing. Very unfortunate that I didn’t get into the fandom sooner; I’m loving ALL of the memes. Boy do I want to learn sindarin.
My dear friend, this meme is so old, so rich, so iconic. This meme will die when Ents finish an entire sentence in less than a day, and I think you know as well as I do, that that’s not going to happen any time soon, literally.
The passage of time is wild man, this video is now 18 years old, and it's release in 2006 is only 3 years after The Return of the King was in theaters.
