I agree it's great she is willing to tackle repairs and other projects on their channel. However, it's not that many people CAN'T change a tire. It's that the choose not to learn how, feeling it's too difficult or time consuming to learn how to. That's where Courtney differs from others. She and Riley have the attitude of "we can learn how to do anything" .
Courtney is such a great role model to younger females with that just get stuck in and do it attitude. When my daughter got her very first car she and I would do all the maintenance and I remember her really overfilling the oil and making her drain it all out and redo the change. Memories of 30 odd years back.
Suggestion: Build an outdoor 'air shower' for Ryley or anyone who gets dusty/dirty and possibly a 'dry scrub' brush to use to get some of the worst of the dirt off. Not much good in Winter, but a summer might be good. An 'outdoor shower' could be fun in the summer too.
Boy is Oliver getting big. Before you know it, he will be walking, then watch out. Oliver is going to learn so much from you two, he is a very lucky boy that has parents that can do anything.
You were 100% correct, a paid off vehicle is cheaper to fix instead of to replace. My brother has a 1999 Lexus LX470 with the adjustable ride height suspension. When it went bad he had his mechanic rip the system out and replace it with regular springs and shocks. And he is literally a millionaire that could afford anything he wanted.
Someone has probably already mentioned this in the comments, I would really recommend that you get the alignment checked and reset after lifting it. Handles great off road, you want that too on the highway. Nice family, like your videos. Very intertaning and educational.
Riley... You keep breaking stuffs and equipment. Give the assignment to Oliver... it's a piece of cake to toddler like him.. at best he's keenly aware and observant about health and safety
The new suspension looks like a good system. I have been using Bilstiens for decades and they are easily the best components that I have ever used. I am also happy to see that you use a torque wrench on all of your fasteners. Most people think that they can “feel” the proper torque. This upgrade to your car couldn’t have been more important than now with your most precious cargo riling along. Good job! Best Regards Your Pal Al
I just put Bilstein 4600 shocks on my 100 series Land Cruiser. They aren't as fancy as your's but they are working great and it is so much better when towing now.
Great job. When doing the back I couldn't help but notice, and how much I was impressed with how meticulous the shop was. The accuracy of the build is uncanny. I also noticed the wall wasn't up yet on the upper floor. Front install went great also. Wall was up, and the shop matured. I look so forward to seeing your videos on Sundays. It was the first video I looked up upon arising.
I was so happy to hear you talk about how much you love the parenting life. I was the one that prayed you would, because every time I see you two in the video's you share with us, I see how caring you guys are to one and other. Having a Child really does amplify that. Ollie is SOO cute! I look forward to seeing what you both have planned in the future, and watching Ollie grow with you.
MAN! Paid for cars are the best IF Maintenance is performed as scheduled! BTW IMO Oliver adds a Lot more interest with his appearances-Handsome BOY obviously takes after his Mom!
You guys are such a hoot to watch!! Oliver is going to be so blessed in knowing that no matter what he takes apart you guys can put back together again!! I love watching how you both work together with such joy and fun!! A friend from afar! Dennis
Great job Courtney ! All your older vehicles are all keepers. Nice to see a young lady being able to wrench on her own vehicle. Another great episode bravo !!!
It is so amazing you both can do all that stuff yourselves and how did you figure out the other things that you could put on instead. Oliver is getting so big and stinking cute 🥰.
Anti-seize for bolts and nuts. A vacuum and air gun to get rid of dust/dirt before working on stuff. Also a pressure washer to cut down on mud/dirt in wheel wells after going thru muddy puddles.
HI, I KNOW IT'S TIME CONSUMING BUT I WISH YOU WOULD MAKE MORE VIDEOS. I ' REALLY ENJOY THEM. I CAN'T BELIEVE OLIVER HAS GROWN THIS FAST. GOD BLESS YOU ALL. BOB ROM MESA, AZ
Bilstein has made high quality shocks for many decades. Last year we had our original 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera suspension replaced with a Bistein system and it's amazing the difference in handling it makes.
I always like seeing your home getting more and more done. I literally started with, "oh neat, they're building their own barn in the middle of nowhere."
Did they not even say the price of the parts? Damn! I assumed it was somewhere in that range. Definitely worth the price, especially considering the cost of a factory vehicle with that level of capability. Like a Raptor or... TRX? Maybe a Gladiator Mojave.
That car is now an epic off roader looking vehicle now. Yet still a smart clean looking modern car. The filming, showing us the ride passes my expectations of "improved" and was excellent in translating the experience to your viewers. I'm considering a nice set for my Nissan SUV right now. Your car just looks "ready" to handle whatever the road throws up in your path 🙏
You guys have gotten so big since my wife an I started watching you probably won’t see this comment but I wanted to say how awesome your channel is to watch in so many ways. One of the biggest things is how you manage your monies. Most people on RU-vid when they go big they go crazy on their spending. You guys think like us little people. It is amazing how far you all have come from the house remodeling and the truck camper build to being a mom and Dad and moving to Idaho. Please please keep making videos so us armchair builders, earthmovers, mechanics and DIYers can learn and be entertained at the same time! If you ever get a chance you need to install a two post lift one day. It’s one of the best things I ever did in my garage. I even installed it myself. Thanks again so much for sharing parts of your amazing DIY life with us. You all Rock!!!!
❤❤ I love seeing your little baby. He is getting so cute and so big wow you finally accomplished a card to go off road where you live there’s a nice ride. Amazing. I’m very impressed how you do the work on the car yourself that’s awesome I taught my daughter how to work on her car, I love seeing that you do the work to great partnership. Have a good week I’ll look for till next Sunday for your next video. Keep them coming a lot of us look forward to them.❤❤❤
You guys are great, loved it when Riley asked Courtney, "what one of your greatest fears in life" and without a moments hesitation Courtney says, "you being in my personal space" ......lol......Just loved that response !
Great seeing the 2 of you working together on car . That is what will keep you together. Team work ! Alway amazed at what the 2 of you can do together. Can't wait till the next video.
Tim from Canada you know you have made it big when you have a RU-vid channel and you were living in the bush.. off grid.. and your wife is driving a Lexus… and you the guy is driving a beat up old truck…. ////you have made it to the top. Be very proud that your wife Lexus, and you are still driving that beat up old truck again you have made it to the top
I love you guys so much! I remember days like this, except I never had my best friend helping me. My wife wouldn't get near enough to bring me a cold beverage! I know you hide most of the bad times, but I can't imagine a more perfect life!
The money saved by just renewing old parts, rather than buying a new car. Thanks for sharing Oliver with us, he has a lovely smile, Hope he isnt "Reckless Oliver", when hes older!!. Thanks for the video Always a joy!!, Love from UK @ 3.30 in the afternoon x x.
I feel the pain of “only I know they’re there”😂. I lifted my Tacoma with an Icon Stage 8 kit but the previous owner had installed a block kit so it literally didn’t lift the truck anymore haha.
@Ambition Strikes Dear R&C I swear to God I absolutely LOVE your videos and the way you so lovingly work together as a team (dunno what happens off cam though 😜😜) and that makes me literally elated, euphoric and extremely happy. What I love about you guys is that you dudes are very practical very pragmatic and very DTE (down to earth)! Love you both!
I was taught in the Navy that you should always pull on a wrench rather than push because when pushing you have less control when the fastener breaks loose and end up with busted knuckles !
