Work begins on the actual Ratte.
It’s a big tank. Really big.

I believe the reason the Maus tanks come with extra bases for the Ratte's rear guns is because there is some artwork of the Ratte equipped with two Maus turrets in the back, so you can either give it dual AA, dual, extra tank turrets, of mix and match. I'm gonna paint my Maus and Ratte the same camo so I can mix and match on a whim.

Seems like you could turn this into a tank carrier by adding a drop down ramp in the back, adding a rear compartment separate from the turreted front, and build out an area inside that could hold three normal scale tanks, or possibly the two mice tanks.

As a kit, almost certainly. But as a functioning tank I would doubt there would be much room inside. I think someone said it was designed to be powered by 3 huge engines, and it would already be very heavy. Adding extra tanks to it would probably cause untold problems!

@@GrossModels Yeah, I could see the back being nothing but engine blocks, although I would have expected more exhaust fans. It is too bad, given the size.

I’m not sure what the panels on the top are, they could be covering exhaust I guess. As they never got around to building it I guess we will never know!

I've built this kit and the tracks are wrong, Andy from Andy's hobbies also had the same problem, you have to re arrange the tracks to get them to fit properly...

They didn’t seem quite right, but the top layer is hidden once it’s all assembled so I’m not too worried. Thanks though.
