I approached my father with the idea of doing a pilot episode of Talent Freaks the series, and he graciously agreed to be interviewed I filmed as he worked on his artwork. Unfortunately, I only had a few days to spend with my family for the holidays. When we performed the interview, I worried that we didn't have enough b-roll of the project in progress because of how long it would take to complete one of his projects. We planned to shoot the b-roll another time, but we missed that moment.
After downloading the footage, it sat on an external hard drive for more than a decade. I stumbled upon the recording and decided to give it a proper send-off.
My father passed away in 2021, at the age of 89, and he was still creating art up until the day he passed. Rest in peace, pops.
