Ironically, the coffin completely went to waste, because he paid for it and instead of waiting for another, shorter person to die and use it, he murdered Bobby in cold blood and used it for him, instead of a paying customer.
There's a case in which instead of the cremating bodies, the person just buried them and gave the family concrete dust. Not to mention the scandal where they took body parts from the corpses to be sold without the family consent.

He killed his nephew for three reasons: 1) To save money, because the boy's medical expenses had begun piling up. 2) Bobby threatened to tell the sheriff about what Ezra did to him. 3) With his paralysis, Bobby couldn't do most of the manual labor for Ezra that he used to be able to.
