Except it was not planned yet and the legacy was supposed to be the nine tails that was inherited by the village... Kishimoto didn't plan to reveal anything about naruto's parents until he himself had a kid and wanted to bring that part of his life to his manga too. "Shippuden" (even though the manga has no division) was already started though so you are just thinking too much into it hahah Early Naruto's Minato depictions in the manga are in fact looking almost nothing like Naruto Kishimoto changed a lot of things mid-work and he did an amazing job in making it look as it was all planned even though he left some slight inconsistency here and there.

@@valvaraad As I said, early minato depictions in naruto's manga looked nothing like naruto. And it's not that "I think" it was not planned, the author himself said so :/

Kishimoto's first idea was to make a manga about magicians hahahah but he tought ninjas were cooler, then he made the first chapters in which naruto was supposed to be either the son of the fox or the fox itself (as you can clearly see from dialogues in the first episodes) and then he changed plans. Being minato's son was one of the possibilities so as per many other things that he was unsure about he left it quite open to interpretation without shutting off any idea, especially since for the most part he ad planned to not even reveal his parents cause was unimportant. By the time the manga was already finishing "Naruto" he finalized the idea of who his family was. There starts to be hints only during or after the rasengan arc and Jiraya just talks as he has no Idea who Naruto is. People like to focus a lot on "the hints that were left by the author" and never on moments of complete contraddiction so they sometimes mistake the brilliant moves of the author leaving open plot points as early hints.

Wrong, Naruto is the 4th Hokage's legacy because the 4th sealed the 9 Tails in Naruto, not because Naruto is his son.

Ironically during that scene,.the writer didn't make Naruto his son yet. It wasn't even an Idea yet. That scene was referring to the 9 tails that he sealed in Naruto. That was the legacy.

@@gggamer3851 By that point in the manga Kishimoto had decided that the 4th was Naruto's dad. He originally had different plans but by the time he revealed all of the previous squads and masters (during the fight between the 3rd and orochi) he had already made up his mind (though he didn't even have a name for him yet). Additionally, the anime is produced some time AFTER the manga. The words used in the anime can carry that meaning because it was already decided who Naruto's father was.

@@gggamer3851 It was chapter 16 of the manga, to be specific, when Kishimoto had decided the general ideas surrounding Naruto's father. This is during the land of waves arc. The cover of that chapter features Kakashi's squad and their leader.

@austinhenry4092 not true as originally Kishimoto planned on Naruto being the Son of the 9 tails. He didn't change it until later in the story.During Kakashi Gaiden is when the idea came to making him Hokage, and that was because the Editor suggested that they make Minato hokage.

Konohamaru and Asuma are in the family of the 3rd Hokage who was in power during +50 years but they are not targeted by other villages, it’s just a no sens explanation. And everyone in Konoha knows that Naruto is the jinchuriki so others villages just need to send a spy to discover it, this whole name secret is just a scriptwriting facility…

Yeah the whole thing is stupid. Kushina was literally the only uzumaki in the whole village. Naruto using her name instead of Minato’s doesn’t hide his identity at all. Especially when you consider he was born the day Minato and pregnant Kushina died fighting the 9 tails and he is the jinchuriki of the 9 tails. Also the only kid with yellow hair in the village lol

Knowing something will happen is much different than knowing what will happen. Something always happens in the show, and knowing that doesn’t matter.

@@Evento0 Well living in the modern era having expectations watching show and not having expectations can lead to different results based on what they expect and what they watch. I don’t think you can arbitrarily argue that expectations can always be bad nor always good. Context matters. Also being exposed to so many audience members through the internet naturally exposes them ( Like: you will know Pain, N number of reactors have heard the comments about him and Madara). In summary my point is that expectations themselves do not necessarily positively correlate to negative utility/experience.

Most people would rather have high expectations vs spoilers. Plus with Naruto there's already high expectations do to it being so big. In an ideal world people would just not be dicks and spoil so​ others don't need to warn people that hey be careful for spoilers. @@Evento0

@krauub Nothing I said is a spoiler. This is all info given in 126. Info acknowledged by Ron in the reaction to that video. Also they don't really read the comments on RU-vid to avoid spoilers they read the ones on Patreon though.

If I remember correctly, both Naruto and One Piece (and Berserk) had the same type of "foreshadowing", a. k. a. retconning: they take some detail from the past and skillfully weave it in the story so it seems like it was all planned.

​@@6Grimmjow I haven't read/watched Berserk, but I don't agree with your opinion of OP and Naruto > OP does the retconning of the type that Naruto did with chakra natures - Naruto explained that there were 5 chakra natures 300 episodes into the anime, but it did not really contradict anything shown before when it explained, it just showed the previous incidents in a new light... OP sort of did do that with early displays of Haki (the stare, mantra), but all other things are actually foreshadowing... The random Crokus dialogue is explained 300 episodes later... Laboon explained 275 episodes later... the Going Merry mystery is resolved 150 episodes later.. BB's plot went on for 400 episodes, Robin's for 200, Jimbei's for 600, Kinemon's/Momo's for 350, the tamate box was for 300 episodes, Caribou is STILL ongoing with 600+ episodes...

I'm just saying that smart writers, it seems, leave a few things unclear here and there without giving an explanation, so that later they have a chance to expand on that. So a chunk of the "foreshadowing" wasn't even thought out at the time of writing. I'm not caught up, so can't argue most points, but is there any indication that the Laboon/Brook connection was planned, and not just an addition?

@@6Grimmjow You are right. There is no indication that the Laboon thing was planned exactly that way, the same goes for the tamate box and even Caribou... These might have been just open threads left by Oda to be made use of at some point later on in the story. In fact, we know for fact that Oda himself hadn't figured the details of Haki until ep 500 or so.... But, the other points still stand and that is why Oda is termed as the GOAT. Naruto, on the other hand, is filled with retcons! BIG SPOILERS AHEAD!!!! But, I think Naruto is guilty of a far greater crime. We hear throughout OG Naruto how hard work beats talent and how your birth does not determine your destiny. Neji says that Naruto's dream of becoming a Hokage is futile because all the exceptional ninja that become Hokage are sort of predestined by birth to become one. He goes on to say that a nobody like Naruto would never become one. OG Naruto was about proving this message wrong. But, by end of Naruto, we find that the First and Second are brothers, the Third is the student of the two, the Fourth is a student of a student of the Third. The Fifth is a student of the Third, the Sixth is a student of the Fourth and the Seventh is a student of the Sixth and the son of the Fourth.... Are you kidding me? And, guess what? Neji, himself, dies a completely nonsensical and nameless death as a the ultimate symbolic fu by the author Similar patterns are seen in the Raikages, the Tsuchikages and the Raikages, though not as extreme.

Because this is literally out of order, this is information that is supposed to come after the Pain arc.
