She is... in a word - cray. That, and I think at that point, her hate for them and her instinct to protect Oscar was too strong for her to just walk away (Adds to the irony of the exorcists supposed to being reliant solely upon reason and logic.)
@@Zalozis It's justified from their point of view because they don't care about anything but this pristine utilitarian ideal (Bentham's Utilitarian philosophy specifically) and we do see "positive" depictions of this crappy belief system of theirs from Star Wars Jedi teachings. If anything, the Abbey are a more real life depiction of what the Jedi would actually be. Faults and all.
Yeah, I just saw this part recently. They could have both walked about and that would have been that. She CLEARLY saw that the abbey was evil. She CLEARLY saw that Velvet's group was anything but evil. But she chose to fight anyways. That scene would have been a lot more impactful if it wasn't so extra.
Bro, she told you why. If they run away, it would forever stain his name and his life could be ruined considering how dogmatic their organization seems to be.
0:41 Perfectly okay with letting the tragedy of Kamoana and her mom transpire, but when it's his sister? Now *we're* the assholes. Boring-ass hypocrite. ._. Welp. No breaks in the story for a little while from this point onward. And shit gets crazy~
*+Otis editz* - *"I can't do that, it would reflect poorly upon him."* She didn't even fight them for protecting Oscar; more his reputation and self-esteem. This would've been the fourth time of Oscar coming across and failing to stop the Lord of Calamity; and he would lost using Armatis this time. After so many failures, the Abbey probably would have discharged him, or worst. Still better than being frucking dead, Teresa...
Considering what both her (and Oscar) has seen of the Abbey up to this point, shouldn't they have gotten a (an extremely big) hint that the Abbey can care less of whether they succeed or not, they don't truthfully care for their own people (Teresa should've gotten the point when they've used an experimented arte on Oscar, something that's not finished)? Either way, I can't feel much sympathy for those 2. They brought it upon themselves, while Velvet was actually willing to let them go (which is a surprise, considering how much of a pain, and annoying, that both characters were to Velvet and the group).
Isn't that that exact same attitude Velvet as? Arthur is only a asshole because he kill her brother, if he killed anybody else she wouldn't have given a shit.Hell she might even be a Exorcist by now if things had gone slightly differently. Velvet knows better then anybody else just how easy she could have ended up in Teresa's shoes and that's probably why she was willing to let them go in the first place.
You also forgotten that the other reason that Velvet considers him as one is because of what happened to her friend Niko and the other villagers where she was staying/living (and doesn't help that the person himself literally cut off her left arm, .which results in her having a demonic left arm and imprisonment for 3 years). So while killing her brother was the main motivation of her wanting her revenge, it wasn't the only reason Velvet considered Arthur a complete a****** (and that illusion trick of her village doesn't help much).
This is the part of the game that nearly broke me. Because of Teresa's protective instincts and strong love for Oscar which ultimately led to both their demise, and how Velvet was pretty close to breaking because that was the same event that triggered her trauma at the hands of Artorius.
_CaptainRevive Something tells me Melchior gave up on Bienfu when he said " Velvey would make good wife material". Melchior:..................................
They told him: Gather important information. Bienfu gave the information that he thought was important. As it turns out, what's important to bienfu is useless trivia to the abbey.
That’s honestly what I thought too. I feel like Artorius (or Melchior at least) and Innominant set them up to die by Velvet’s hand to set up her trauma button and then came the whole attack on Titania. It all feels too planned out.
Teresa deserved better. The moment she became a therion I was glad, because that shit of taking the therions alive to Titania and that, but, not, they had to kill her. And just when she was starting to open herself to the group. Damn. And this is just the first step to Velvet's despair show. Onwards, things will turn much more ugly...
Didn't Teresa have no problem using the Malays like disposable tools like the other exorcists, to the point of ordering Laphicet to blow himself up in an attempt to kill Velvet, and then later straight up ordered him to kill her and then himself after trapping their entire party? To me, Teresa isn't all that sympathetic, especially since she essentially dooms herself and Oscar with her impulsive betrayal in this part.
Yeah. After this fight, I put the game down, because of how tragic the the atmosphere was and the symbolism. This game made me come very close to crying.
After reading the english text... I must admit I got a bit wet eyes. :,( I was already sad when I saw the cutscene in my run... but when I read Teresa's last words... I became even more depressed. One of the most tragic moments I've seen in videogames. Not only for the siblings but also for Velvet, Laphi and El of course. Another evidence why Berseria is so dark.
@@davidtimmer596 Yeah, I think Teresa should get most of the blame here. Nobody expected Oscar to drop dead mid-fight, but in all honesty, Velvet probably ended-up saving them the trouble of fighting a dragon.
Man, this ended up being another Alice and Decus situation. It's a shame these two don't end up joining the party. Would've been fun to play as Oscar if anything
Eh, no.. they aren't related. Previous vid Teresa clearly stated she was the maid at Oscar's home and he treated her "like a sister" while the rest were, supposedly, assholes cause "lowborn maid trash, lol". So simply put: not bro + sis...can't wincest...get awkward stares due to calling each other bro/sis.
13:55. The mind does what it can in order to offer some solace, some illusion of comfort. Bojack Horseman was very much the same when he lost everything, making the solitude and silence of death itself seem so appealing.
I don't feel sorry for them at all. Velvet gave her a warning to leave with Oscar as soon as she got him and she didn't listen. She shouldnt have broke down like that because she was acting as self defense or else it would have been her and laphicet dead instead
...Um... you're supposed to feel sorry for Velvet, not those two. Because Velvet realized she became no better than Artorius in this moment. ...I mean, you don't get the point of the scene.
Oscar: I will not fall that easily! Boy, you are using the shittiest armitazation from Zestiria. You stood no chance. The Abbey givin' out bootleg armatus now? Oh my god it makes sense...Melchior is a fucking bootlegger. He probably hides moonshine under his hat. He even looks like an old prospector! Laphicet: I'll protect you Velvet! Velvet: Literally everyone who has ever said that in this series has either failed or died horribly. Often both. Don't curse yourself kid. Stormquell is nice and all, but can it take out Yhorm the Giant?
Eleanor does her mystic Arte: huh, that's cool Eizen dies his mystic Arte right after: holy crap! Laphicet does his mystic Arte right after: Onega calm the fuck down! it's just a poor woman fighting for her brother!!
Teresa and Oscar will never not give me the creeps also can you please show your arte trees next update? I need help coming up with combos for Eizen (in particular)
that move where you combine their mystic arts is great but how do you keep them from wasting what they need for it I tried but they keep using the arts when they want and i never have enough on all of them to do that combined skill
Great... This is Decus&Alice shit all over again. They even die in the same possition! (It's not a romantic relationship but love it's still love at the end of the day.) The worst part is that in both cases the protagonists move on over the major antagonist deaths way too fast. I don't mind this when the antagonist have no character development and are just dicks for the sake of it. However this wasn't the case! It wasn't with Alice&Decus and it wasn't here! Mourn their deaths a little or give them some respect as opponents at least!
I mean, everybody except Velvet and Laphicet kind of aren't affected. Eleanor's kind of... Bottling it all up as her sidequest later on shows, Velvet has a fucking breakdown and Phi's a TAD too concerned with Velvet not, y'know, snapping.
Can I just say how... Uncomfortable Teresa and Oscar's relationship is? Like, bruh, it's nice to know you care about your brother, but like... Dial it down a peg or three. Please.
