As a 15 yr old kid, this fight and the scene leading up to and around left my emotions in disarray. The coffins, Remiel's vocal tone and indifference, Kratos's betrayal, all it was too much to handle. As an adult, it breaks my heart. Colette knew what was going to happen to her and she bravely accepted her fate. I didn't care for her as a kid but I love her as an adult. She's one of the best female characters in the Tales Of franchise
Worse part it was all a facade all of the sacrifice at the tower of salvation is noting. Interesting part is that Kratos actually mocked Remiel for begging for him since Remiel view himself as a ultimate being and Kratos admit he's an inferor being and he refuse to help him.
If Remiel had keep his mouth shut about what was happening to Colette and just sent her friends off, he would have gotten what he wanted and lived. Talk about Bond-Villain Stupidity.
I had a roommate who put this song as his RPG Maker 2003 game's battle music because he liked it so much. He probably used it for things a little bit too mundane though.
I remember this fight. As a young baptist the concept of fighting an angel was soooooooooo far off from my world. This fight changed my entire outlook on religion.
I wouldn't say this game changed my outlook on religion, but it did change the blueprint of my approach to the world. Then someone dissected this game too, and I was like "Fuck it. Everyone is wrong. I don't care anymore."
I remember the first time i face off against Remiel I was that was tough but not to bad then I face off against Kratos and I was like HOLY CRAP things just got 10x harder
Most players on their first playthrough are going to lose to Kratos, even with the best equipment available from Sylverant and level above 35 he is very tough. If you're ready for the fight and employ the right strategy he is beatable, but if you're playing blind and unprepared he is likely going to wreck you. His ability to dispose of Lloyd and Sheena with his Lightning blade/light spear combo along with quickly firing off graves and thunder blades at Raine and Genis is tough to deal with.
I love boss fights like that. Where you're not expected to win, the game continues if you lose, but if you somehow manage to pull a victory out of your ass, you get a small reward (bonus xp, rare item, etc.), and ideally a slightly altered cutscene, like we got here. It's just a small nod from the devs for being good, or persistent, at their game.
I know I'm deathposting, but Kratos was weird for me. My first playthrough, all of my characters were in the low 20s (think 20-23) and not even the best equipment in Sylvarant and I won against him. I was never able to replicate that attempt. My second playthrough, all my characters were a little below level 30 (think 28 or 29) and I had the best possible equipment I could get, both Efreet and Sylph in my posession, Remiel was a breeze, I went in fully prepared with 15 of most items after Remiel, Kratos still kicked my ass. Should I mention both playthroughs were on normal difficulty? I didn't feel like fighting Remiel again, so I didn't bother trying Kratos again. Goes to show how hard of a boss he is ig.
Without 10x exp NORMAL mode I wasn't even like at lv 28 here and still RAN out of TP after beating Remiel and no way to restore it since the NO Gels title for Genis STILL can't be gotten at this point and I still wanted that title on a 1st run of the game.
The best is symphonia, along with vesperia, it shows that both have been designed by kosuke fujishima and the soundtrack by motoi sakuraba. The last such that was worth it was Vesperia, from here, the good designers left the studio and developed the Star Ocean (half a symphonia team), after Versperia more developers joined this saga. As of 2009 the Tales saga went into decline and terrible games (zestiria, berseria and arise), they are games that are hack and slash, running corridors without dungeons and an empty world, arise is rubbish, they have tried to "recreate" a symphonia with two worlds made up with beautiful graphics, but it is a game that falters in many parts, especially because you spend the game fixing elevators, there are no dungeons. That the best games are until 2008 says a lot about the decline of this saga by bandai namco.
You can hear that vile tone in his voice once she goes along with his plan. I had a feeling he wasn't her real father. She even stated she felt that he wasn't her real father. That is some low crap pulling off the long lost father card to get her to come along. It's a real shame, and does shed light on blind faith in religion, like the Yevonites teachings abour machina, but they were hiding much of that machina under their temples in FFX/2.
About that ALL the beast skills SHOULD still trigger Fiery Beast BUT even WITH 10x exp a MUST FOR Mania mode I used ALL of it on Remiel BUT you still MUST kill Sword Dancer 1 if its still alive at this point.
IT IS you can't fight the 2nd and 3rd Sword Dancers WITHOUT killing the first one and I'll still ONLY KILL the first one on Mania mode ONLY via a 10x exp run and off it NOW.
@@veghesther3204 You don't HAVE to kill SD2 and SD3 though. They are optional bosses. You can avoid them or only kill up to 2. It doesn't matter. And if you're needing 10x exp to kill SD1 on mania then you're doing something wrong. It is 100% possible to beat without 10x exp.
These fights on mania . .ridiciolously Hell Without Four stun charms. . .Remiel Teleporting shooting arrows and spamming photon and couldnt interrupt him fast enough. . .I finally just say screw it and not care thst i couldnt beat Kratos ether He was Kinda impossible for me to stagger him unless hes i terrupted casting. . .and after how many it took me to beat Remiel i just say. . .screw it. . going through unskippable cutscenes making me startingnto give up on mania if it gets worse . . . . . .Really disappointed on that
@@BuffMaister I hope you're right as it gets easier . .becsuse i suffered literraly every single blsses before this point i thought was essy on normal mode too much but yeah . .We will get better get better items and Gear eventually so it should be bearable soon . . hopefully Ps:OH yeah . .If i finally get a chance to downoad Skype *Again . . *I'll might message you eventually but . .Incase you forgot i did added you on discord as were both on ffrk server so can message me there too yknow xD
@@BuffMaister I have to admit man, I am damn impressed. I only ever completed the game on Mania difficulty during a New Game+ with the 10x experience buff, so basically cheating. I even tried to do it with "just" 2x experience, and I failed. Looking at how you fought these fights makes me realize that I simply was bad at the game and had no idea how to truly fight, such as using Guardian at appropriate times, gauging how long Field Barrier lasted, proper use of items, etc. Well done!
About that EVEN getting 1x Stun charm is nearly impossible they aren't buyable AT all OTHER then the RANDOM grab bags but at 30 Grade a pop their only worth spending that much on Mania mode AFTER you pretty much BUY out the grade shop and that ALONE look me between 5 and 6 runs of the game ALL done on normal mode and the 2nd onwards runs WERE with the 2x grade/exp boost bought bought.
The ironic part is that Elves also hate half elves as well. Sheena states that he treats BOTH humans and elves like Cattle so yeah Mithos not only hates humans but Elves as well.
