Gotta love how Kratos and Mithos say Shining Bind, Zelos says Luminous Bind, and all attacks are written as Holy Binds :p Colette's cut in is so cute ^^
@Con Major part of the story in a different game -- the person you replied to said "ToX" which I presume is Tales of Xillia. Maxwell went from being a minor summon in Symphonia to a major story character in Xillia. (I haven't actually played Xillia, but figured I could help clarify what the person you replied to meant.)
@@SerenDark He's basically God in ToX, fulfilling similar functions as both Maxwell *and* Origin in ToS but as one character. So yeah, *hugely* important.
My favorite is Zelos' first one with the angel transformation. Mostly because the only other way you get to see his angelic form is when you kill him, and his orange wings are glorious.
His and kratos' wings should stay active for the remainder of the battle after unleashing them. I also feel Lloyd should keep the eternal sword after using it for the rest of the battle.
Damn, I was literally fighting tears while watching this. After waiting so long for these mystic artes to be in English, it finally happened. And probably the triumphant music in the background helped with the tears, lol.
I was disappointed with "Holy" Binds. I thought Vesperia did an infinitely more epic job. "Struggle against these holy chains... SHINING BI-" *attack starts hitting loudly, nearly drowning out Kratos*
DarthRoxas Xlll in my opinion, the only impractical thing about Mystic Artes in Symphonia was that you couldn’t choose when to activate overlimit, maybe also that some of them were restricted to the character needing to be in red hp, but those are usually the most powerful. You are right that the following games improved on it though, by allowing you to activate over limit when you want to and giving more than 1 Mystic Arte to characters(especially if they still have that hp requirement)
@@dsflame4767 I completely agree with that. Some characters seemed like they almost never went into over limit (like Genis, for example); the way that they effectively had it become proced in a battle basically at random was always dumb to me. The ones that required you to have low HP were even worse, though, especially if you're party had a healer (which made it difficult to stay under the HP limit long enough sometimes)
Hehe I expected you to fix their audio, thanks Omega! Also let's take a moment to appreciate the mess they made of localising Shining/Holy/Luminous Binds. xD
There is one Mystic Arte they removed and refused to put in any of the Symphonias. It was Rain's Chalk Throw and it had an effect similar to Chuck Norris's Roundhouse kicks.
I did love that they redid the original Arte Cutins. they look nice and more touched up than the previous ones, Abyssion's Cutin Image was my favorite.
Yeah, it's nice, but only for battle quotes apparently, and not the Skits. I just wish they could've gotten the original actors for the sequel. Oh well.
All the "new" lines are unused quotes from the original game, to the best of my knowledge. In an interview when discussing Symphonia Chronicles, Bandai Namco specifically said that there would be "no new voice acting" in the games. Edit: Apparently I'm incorrect. They DID get the original cast on board for the new Mystic Artes and Unison Artes. I wasn't expecting that at all.
I like how because Genis learns Indignation naturally in the game, he needs to one up all the badass mages who followed him by combining it with judgment
And to this day he's still the only one with Indignation Judgment as a mystic arte or even spell in general. Other than mithos, of course, but I don't really count him for a reason. Nor abyssion
I was talking about her voice actress, the same woman who voiced Bubbles from PPG and Twilight Sparkle in MLP and many other iconic character we grew up with.
Ah,I love this game so much but the Mystic Arte have so much requirement that the only mystic arte I could do was Sheena's and Raine's one and most of the time it was activated only by accident.
+Eryk Cheba The VA's for the 9 playable characters were called back in, either for MA's or Unison Attacks. Abyssion and Mithos don't actually have any new lines. It made the least sense for Kratos, because they already got Cam Clarke to do Shining Bind in Tales of Vesperia (which is the clip you hear at the very end of the video).
i'm currently playing the remastered ps4 version, it's my favorite game of all-time since more a decade, it's always amazing the watch all those mystic arte
Which makes me wonder if Lloyd's Falcon's Crest is altered in Dawn? If it isn't, it just feels lazy in a sense that they changed the original yet, never bothered with the sequel.
Lol, didn't even know this game had mystic artes until I chanced on Raine's "innocent shine". Immediately looked all of them up. Well, disregarding Sheena.
I love Colette Mystic Art :) She failed (agaln) in her Angel Arte but Still launch a more powerful attack than expected :) And Mithos use Mystic Arte in Mania i guess ?
How do you perform Lloyd's Falcon's Crest??? I tried so hard to do it! It's the attack, arte, and guard buttons, right? I don't know if I have to press them all at once or in a certain order. I already know that Lloyd's numerical HP value has to be red and that he has to have material blades equipped and the "eternal swordsman" title obtained. My only problem is the button inputs... :P
I have a question. Does Lloyd's Mystic Arte still requires to have equiped the Material blades? Because I have seen how, by example, Kratos changes his weapon to Flamberg just to use the MA. I ask because in the original Symphonia it was a damn pity to have the MA limited to be used just with the Material blades. With the Nebilim and Falcon I already did the same or more damage than with Falcon Crest.
yes, Lloyd's MA is the same aside from the updated cut in and quote, including the activation requirements. Fittingly enough, Kratos activates his MA in a way identical to Lloyd, and Lloyd has to either not be fighting or be using a weapon other than the Material Blade. I personally am confused as to why exactly he needs Flamberge to use his MA.
it feels weird, on one side i'm happy they have them...yet it still feels weird looking back on the original one where only Genis (who was BROKEN if you knew the glitch), Lloyd and Colette(still the weakest one in my opinion) and sheena's...i don't really count as a Mystic Arte because its just a summon, but what can you do? however it DOES make the Abyssion battle waaaaaaaaay more challenging now that he has his msytic artes
I've gotta say, I'd been avoiding finding out exactly how they handled this part, what with extra lines and how large chunks of the cast changed for the sequel... at least they reassembled the dream cast for a little extra flourish here. Including the bizarrely awful audio mixing...and... other nightmarish audio snafus... *coughAbyssioncough*... which you graciously chose to set right for us. Thanks for making my day when I finally went back and uncovered whatever truth I might find. :3
Nomad94 Colette's Holy Judgment is the easiest to do After Colette uses Holy Song and Judgement 50 times each, using her, cast Holy Song until the target disappears.
- obtain the "Eternal Swordsman" title - the weapon "Material Blade" must be equipped - HP must be in red - activated by pressing the "Attack", "Arte", and "Guard" buttons
Depends on the character. Some, Like Lloyd and Collette, don't need Overlimit at all, but thos ones are once per fight I think. Most of the ones that do require Overlimit can only do it once though per Overlimit though. The Cast time and animation together last longer than Overlimit's duration. You might be able to use them more than once in the same fight, but going into Overlimit more than once in a fight is rare. There is a trick got Genis though. You can use hit Spell Save EX Skill to cancel Indg. Judgement, and cast it again really quickly like normal. Then hit an enemy with the kendama and he will cast the Saved Indg. Judgement again.
