Best storyline of any game I've played by far

yeah it feels like something that would play in a dream, like a really nice dream where you can you just relax in your own little world without any interuptions...yeah that made me wish I had dreams more often

The chills! All day, everyday chills! This song is so under hyped for what it is...

Absolutely love this music, whenever this started playing during a cutscene in the game i would just sit there and listen to it for a few minutes before moving on with the dialogue. I loved this game and all the characters and the music!

I welled up a number of times during this game, but the only time I cried was when Asch died. I shed a single tear for him. Baaaah.

there are only 3 fictional things I've ever been able to cry about, I'm not ashamed to say this is one of them

Out of all the anime/game deaths I've seen, the one of Lion Magnus still gets me the most...

I knew that both Asch and Ion were going to die, but I still cried when they did. ),: But honestly as sad as Asch's death was I was almost fucking sobbing when Ion died.

Tbh, I'm the kind of guy who -wants- to shed tears but never can. I mean, don't get me wrong, I loved Asch and stuff, but I couldn't cry for him.

Listening to his song makes me feel like I'm in an anime world, lying down on a hill under a tree staring at a village/city peacefully.... aw god I would love that xD

To be honest, this game as a stand alone title without a sequel makes the meaning of it more powerful. Luke's "death" and Resurrection after 3 years was a bit confusing, but... it makes the story all the more powerful. It lets the player interpret what's going to happen from then on. Heck, in my fandoms (and a good friend of mine), Luke and Tear get married! But that's for another time. Regardless, this game still is my favorite game of all-time because of it's meaningful story...

Strawberry, you're exactly right. Although, at the end, I do find Luke to be the dominant consciousness if the two have one merged consciousness together, as it seems that way. Its kind of like what that fight between the two symbolized, a battle of will and control over their own destiny. When Asch failed, he let Luke move forward, while he himself accepted the fate of his death. I know this is all very obvious, but its required for an in-depth character analysis.

this music also plays a little before you face Van for teh first time, when you talk to Asch... great music btw!!!

because it wasn't the ending in of itself , it was everything leading up to it. clannad has storylines which make you really like characters , then they break your heart. all of the characters had a very hard life.take nagisa and ushio , they build up nagisa so you love her to death and then they kill her. timeskip , ushio comes along and you see tomoya and ushio , you go through the process of the two building a relationship , then they kill ushio too. its a very big emotional story.

The fact that Clannad heavily plays with your emotions might have something to do with it. You experience Tomoya's good times and bad, and come feel the same way he does in emotional scenes.

SPOILER: Main reason I think Lelouch was such an awesome character is because he united the world basically, then set himself up to die because he knew that the world would always need a 'Hero' to save them, and that to have peace, he would have to die.. ya know?

Well, I guess I can't get into the "typical" arguement because code geass, aside from fullmetal alchemist and fullmetal alchemist brotherhood, is one of the only anime shows ive ever seen, so i wouldnt know. Lelouch, while not being the most likeable character doesn't make him a bad character, just more realistic imo. I was also always intrigued and found Lelouches strategies interesting too. I guess you mean the nightmares when you say mecha flare, but that is not the focus of the story.

asch's death made me cry so hrad , but not as much as nagisa and ushio's deaths in clannad.

why did asch even had to die? i mean seriously he was a anti-hero and could've joined them and saved the world. but he let his anger take himself and didn't want to be friends with luke. buuuutttt luke had a chance to be friends with him in the game and series. that point was when he was stupid and gave him the key of loreleli when he actually wanted a five. but luke wasn't thinking and they had to fight. the reason of why asch died was all thanks to luke if he didn't goof up him and asch.....

Guren lagann has the manilest deaths and code geass has tear inducing ones. Neither are taken that seriously though.

Sure i'd understand if it was Tales of the Abyss spoilers, that would be fine. I'd be okay with that, because it would be me walking into a discussion about that game. It annoys me because it's something totally unrelated and it's a MASSIVE spoiler for that series that can and does completely ruin the climax for it.

Uhhh... Again, I don't see why everyone has to moderate their comments about media so that you don't have to worry about spoilers which really aren't that spoilery. Clannad's been out too long for it to be something you can't have seen by now. so it's not something most worry about, as most people have seen that part by now. It'd be like complaining about DBZ spoilers - it's so old noone cares anymore.

...Well...with Ion it was sort of weird. I actually kinda disliked him the first time I played the game and I had hoped he would die. But when he actually DID die I felt bad. Like, I didn't really mean it that way! I never would have thought it would actually happen. It certainly is the most unpredictable death (at least in the Tales of series), I'll give you that.

That is not explaining anything. How is the story bad? How are the characters bad?

I watched Clannad and cry but I must say this anyways. Naruto is different. Death from giving birth is more said then death from fighting. Action makes me laugh while clannad makes me cry. I watch clannad because it is sad.
