I think Barris looking even older compared to Lyn could also be because of her being a "healer", useing the force to heal others with her own lifeforce.
@bryannkam
@bryannkam 4 месяца назад
Regarding Barriss’ looking far more aged compared to Lyn, considering that Barriss was referred to as “the Healer”, a common theory I’ve seen pop up is that she’s been using Force Heal so frequently that it’s started to take a physical toll on her vitality.Remember that Rey said that how the technique works is that you have to give some of your life energy to do it. So perhaps Barriss has been doing it so much that she hasn’t really given herself time to replenish her life force, hence why she looks much older than she should be.

maybe that's the difference with the dark side one where you might take someone else's life energy to use

I choose to interpret Lyn as at least trying to save Barriss, since her saving Barriss would parallel Barriss trying to save the Jedi in the last episode.

Barriss used to be one of my favorite Jedi (pre-Clone Wars) because she was a healer in the books. I had a whole cosplay for her that I wore to the Revenge of the Sith premiere and to Celebration in 2007. I even met the actress. I was not happy with what they did with her in clone wars so I was so pumped that they brought back the healer aspect of her character and had her find her path again.

I loved what they did with her character in Clone Wars… because even tho her methods were extreme she was absolutely right in every word she said during the trial. I was personally more concerned about the writers making her an Inquisitor, because someone as determined as her would have never joined the Empire willingly. I’m very happy with how handled her character overall in this mini-series, the scene of her converting Lyn back to the light side even made me shed a tear.

*[1]* The description _"A shadow from Barriss' past catches up with her"_ made me think that Luminara or Ahsoka might appear in the third short, and confronting her would snap Barriss out of the Inquisitorious. When I got a second look at the approaching figure, the cape made me think it was Vader. But it was probably best to have a consistent presence across all three shorts (and I don't think Vader cares about how she hurt Ahsoka, or that a Luminara/Barriss relationship could be re-established well in just one short). *[2]* I expected Barriss to fight the Fourth Sister with white lightsabers, since she is a healer - maybe still in the same hilt. But it's better, as a Jedi and a healer, for her to just evade attacks rather than return in kind. It's also a good flip on the Grand Inquisitor's first lesson. *[3]* When the Fourth Sister shouts "Barriss!" and she responds "I'm here," the sound effect when the former strikes the ground is from Exogol, when Kylo Ren meets Palpatine. *[4]* Barriss saying "I forgive you" after getting stabbed is about the most Light Side thing she could say, and a complete 180° on her previously writing off the Jedi Order for their violence. *[5]* The shot of Lyn leaving her lightsaber behind reminded me of the final shot of _Victory And Death,_ with Vader walking away from the clone helmet in the snow. *[6]* With Lyn mirroring Barriss' words to the unnamed Jedi, we get another parallel. These three shorts really like parallels, and I am not complaining. It's like poetry, they rhyme.

Wondering if "The Traveler" might be Quinlan Vos. Sure he's a Jedi, but we know from recent live action work that he's part of the Underground, protecting untrained force-sensitive people, and was apparently still alive at the midpoint of the Empire's existence. Vos, at least from the animated Clone Wars, showed a marked interest in remaining in the field, which would make a title of "The Traveler" a natural code name. The Underground might utilize his natural desire to keep to the open by having him scout out and intercept force-sensitives, starting them on their journey and protecting the rear, so to speak, but not necessarily escorting them the whole way.

I loved this series! From the start to finish, I thought the whole thing was all around pretty amazing. There were a couple flaws or gripes I had during a couple of the episodes, but nothing that was able to ruin the entire show for me. I just really enjoyed getting to see the stories of these sidelined, secondary characters. And the animation for this show is incredible! I know pretty much all the Star Wars animated shows use the same Clone Wars style animation, but I felt like for this one they made sure to make almost every shot super detailed and really cinematic. There were so many beautiful shots throughout all these episodes where it looked like a painting. And it felt like when it came to the atmosphere or an establishing shot of a location they went into so much more detail to make it look and feel more real and beautiful. I also really loved the cinematography, there were just so many beautiful and aesthetically pleasing shots or scenes throughout this whole series. And the music was absolutely fantastic! The Kiners really have done it again, I think they really killed it with this show’s soundtrack. Everything just sounded so incredible and was able to perfectly emulate the tone of the scene. Pretty much every piece of music throughout this either sounded beautiful or super monumental in its own way. I really am so glad that they brought the Kiners in to do the soundtrack for this show. It really felt like because the episodes were really short, the creators decided to make things like the animation, cinematography and the music even more impressive than usual. Something I really appreciated about these stories was how they paralleled one another. I loved how Morgan’s story started out by her being offered to join the light but then ultimately she turns to the dark that she had once wanted to get revenge on. Whereas Barriss’ story started out by her being offered to join the dark, but then she eventually turned to the light that she had once deemed unjust and corrupt. I loved getting to see Morgan Elsbeth’s decent into darkness, I thought getting to see her story was a great way to better develop and understand who she was as a character for when we see her next in Mando Season 2 and Ahsoka Season 1. I really loved General Grevious in that first episode, I thought he was utilized perfectly, and for once he actually felt really threatening and scary, rather than just a coward like usual. And finally getting to see this amazing looking updated Clone Wars animated style General Grevious in action was awesome! Also I’m pretty sure that the first episode confirms that the reason Morgan looks different from the Night Sisters in Clone Wars is because she was a part of a different Night Sister Clan. Not only was their skin and hair color different, but they also lived in a forest next to the mountains whereas the ones in Clone Wars lived in a large cave. I loved getting to see Thrawn and Rukh in the Clone Wars animation style, they both looked amazing and so much better and more detailed than they did in the Rebels animation style. I also really loved Thrawn’s discussion with Morgan, not only did I find what they had to say very interesting, but it’s always just so great to hear Lars Mikkelsen’s performance during one of Thrawn’s monologues. Also what was up with that transmission to Bo-Katan?! That moment was a really great surprise, but I thought for sure that Senator would have contacted Ahsoka, I’m really curious as to what that was leading to. It was so great to finally see Barriss Offee’s story continue during this show. 11 years after her final appearance in Clone Wars Season 5, finally getting to see what happened to her was really great. I thought that the first episode of her story was incredible, I loved getting to see her more prominent turn to the dark as she trained to become an Inquisitor. I loved getting to see the Grand Inquisitor, I thought he made a great impact on this episode and on Barriss’s character. And seeing him in the Clone Wars animation style was so great, he looked amazing and so much better and more detailed than in the Rebels animation style. And I loved the feeling the Inquisitors gave off in this first episode, they felt like a dark, exploiting, cult like threat. I much preferred their overall portrayal here than in Rebels. I also loved getting to see Darth Vader, although he was only there for a couple of seconds he brought such a menacing presence to the end of that episode. I will say though, I wish he played a bigger role in this story. Seeing as how Anakin and Barriss have history from when she betrayed Ahsoka, it would have been really great to see these two actually interact in some form and for Vader to have actually had an impact on her story. I think they did a great job at developing the Fourth Sister. I really enjoyed getting to see her be an actual character in this series and I really liked the arc she was able to accomplish. And I absolutely loved that scene of her in the ice cave, it was just so amazing in every way. I also really enjoyed getting to see where Barriss’ path led her, I really liked how she had become this wise, mystic healer who embodied the ideals of the light side and is on some isolated planet helping those in need. And I love how she now looks upon her time as a Jedi fondly. Rather than holding onto her resentment for the Jedi’s corruption, she now remembers them for the good memories she had when alongside her master. I was really glad to see that this is where her character had ended up by this point. But I think one of my only problems with this series was how Barriss’ story ended. I just felt like it had such an abrupt ending that it made it feel somewhat anticlimactic, I understand Barriss had redeemed herself and because of that she was able to guide the Fourth Sister back to the light and out of the darkness. But it just felt pretty weird to me that Barriss got stabbed and then the episode ended like 30 seconds later, it kind of felt like there was no real resolution to the ending of that story. I just wish that Barriss’ story here would have ended in a more definitive and impactful way. Anyway, I still really enjoyed this series, I thought that it was all around super great and I loved so many things about it. I’m so grateful that we got to get this show and got to watch these stories unfold. I really hope that this show is able to get a second season. And if it does get a second season some characters I would really like to see get explored in their own stories are the Grand Inquisitor, Agent Kallus and Dr. Hemlock.

@WaveSquadron, 8:01 Hopeful music, Barriss head didn't slump back, and Lyn spoke to Barriss as if she was still with her, so why do many reactors think Barriss died? The lack of breath isn't a good indicator. Barriss is injured; she's in bad shape and likely in shock. A body at rest doesn't require as much oxygen as one that's awake. Barriss breathing will be shallow and slower. Do you always see your breath on cold winter days or only when you are breathing forcefully? I think we will see Barriss again, but will it be in live-action or another animated series?
