Yes Jaby you are correct there are many Indian influences in this episode. Some of them i could catch 1. Their names are Indian inspired, Pav-ti from Goddess Parvati, Nakil, Gantika, Ahsoka etc. 2. Their accents sound like Indian accents. 3. Putting 'tilak' on their forehead. 4. Tiger like animal. Tigers are found in the Bengal region of India and is our national animal. Lucas always intended to be Ahsoka's race to be Indian inspired (somewhat) atleast in their names - Ahsoka, Jedi Master Shak-Ti, so Filoni is just taking that concept further.

I hope that Pav-Ti, Nak-Il, Ahsoka's parents, and Lux Bonteri will console Ahsoka after she sense Anakin dies in the arms of Luke. "You have Luke and Leia" They would said at her.

Actually Ahsoka will still be for a few years with her tribe, we know that Master Pło Koon was the one who found her and brought her to the temple and we even got 5 sec flashback of that and we defenitly can see that that she was at least several years old

Fun fact: George Lucas took a lot of inspiration from Indian culture and history. Ahsoka is an actual man in our history. Here the names are indian. And they speak English with a somewhat hindi accent. BONUS FACT: In One of the starting episodes of Clone wars, you can hear a Bollywood song playing in the background in a bar at some planet.

It was like Dave Filoni watched RRR and was like I wanna put that Damn Tiger in Star Wars ASAP😂😂(This could possibly be true.....he is known to having put influences from international movies in Clone Wars and Rebels....And there are many Indian references sprinkeled all over) PS: There are lot many Indian Refrences connected to Ahsoka...for matter of fact George Lucas named her after the Indian King Samrat Ashoka

The accent is Indian-inspired. The name Ahsoka is definitely from Emperor Ashoka, I remember reading that a while back. That, combined with some other motifs makes it Indian, with a dusting of Native American.

You should definitely watch Clone Wars. It’s pretty rough for the first three season but it gets better by season 4 and I think it only gets better from there.

I dunno - i'd almost say watch the last 4 episodes with grown up Asoka. It's great, but the early episodes are a bit kids oriented and may put you off.

10:59 That would be awesome to see! Unfortunately, I don't think that could happen with Ahsoka, because Jedi younglings are brought to the Jedi temple when their between one three years old. Thats why Anakin & Dooku felt awakard around their peers because they were brought to the temple at a late age, and they remember their loves ones where as the other Jedi don't recall any if their life before coming to the Jedi temple. But if theirs another character, that would be cool

I do hope you watch the Clone Wars series when you can Jaby. However, I understand if you're not interested. The Clone Wars series made me appreciate the prequels more and it fixes some of the confusion with Revenge of the Sith! Plus, Ahsoka and Rex are my favorite characters in the seires! Love their character development 🙏🏽

Chipping in my vote for a full Clone Wars review. It's an amazing series that takes a while to get going, but really adds to the lore of Star Wars and fleshes out a lot of fantastic backstories. Anakin's overall story arc becomes more believable and more tragic thanks to what gets presented in Clone Wars. You see Palpatine's plan unfold in real time and how many obstacles almost uncovered or derailed it.

12:38 while I would love a reaction series to clone wars, the series is anthological and a lot of the first and second season’s episodes are….difficult to get through. I think you can just watch the better story arcs. Yeah you may lose some reference or something but the payoff is you don’t have to sit through a Jar Jar Binks episode. Also just wanna say I grew up with the clone wars so the nostalgia glasses hit me hard but I will never advocate for someone to watch the WHOLE thing, there are definitely some bad episodes that can be skipped

I am an old fan for real, I graduated from HS the same year SW came out, it was not called The New Hope yet. George, like his padawan Dave, has always respected other cultures and infused them into his productions. Ahsoka comes from a very spiritual people with costumes that was honored and respected within her tribe, they respected the village elder and prayed to their spirits that they believed in. The title of this episode, "Life and Death", shows just how in balance with the force that Ahsoka really was.
