Oh boy. The scene from "A bad reflection on you" when Kit and Baloo have very smart "father-son" conversation by the plane wreck. Magic. Reminds me my early childhood.
My heart breaks every time I press play & think of what Disney once was. Not loud, in-your-face, tween-driven obnoxiousness...but pure magic...for everyone. Maybe its nostalgia calling, but I FEEL things when I listen to this.
+FireMadeFlesh II Yeah....back then,.. Disney was Disney. Back then, when something that Comes from Disney was Magical...Not that Sh...t like Hannah Montana and Co....
+FireMadeFlesh II You know, this brought emotions to me, now I'm crying, because it's been almost 25 years since this beautiful melody rang in my ears. Wow! Magical!
Agreed! That has always been my opinion in the art,is that you know you "got it right" when you create a story, characters, musical score, etc. that really feels "real" and the audience can really connect with! It was done right with TaleSpin.
Simply, breathtakingly, beautiful...Just the raw emotion put into this, it is BEAUTIFUL. I wish I could become part of their simple, wonderful, boundless world.
I liked the two personalities bouncing off one another, they were like Calvin and Susie working on a school report for the planet Mercury. Calvin kept goofing off all week in the library, whereas Susie worked super hard and yet Calvin messed everything up.
I always felt Talespin was one of Disney's best. It's too bad it wasn't really appreciated then and it would probably be even worse now. I always it to be one of the most moving and ambitious productions to come out of Disney. This and episodes such as "The Old Man and the Sea Duck" and "Her Chance to Dream" still manage bring a tear to my eye.
same here the old man and the sea duck is one of my favorite episodes where baloo loses his memory and a flight instrustor named joe mcgee teachs him how to fly again
Recently watched "The Old Man and the Seaduck" and...I mean...what can you say? These episodes had something to say to the viewer...it wasn't just something to entertain you for half an hour. You took something with you when you were done.
It has been appreciated over the years. In fact, the Tale Spin Crew will make an appearance in the current Duck Tales 2017 series. Just check the news/pics!
@@MilesCW There is a scene in "Raiders Of The Doomsday Vault" where Della is letting Dewey fly the Cloudslayer (wink! wink! nudge! nudge!) and Dewey has trouble and then Della tells him to close his eyes and feel the stick. Guess what theme was playing in the background? This very music. And the entire thing was straight out of Baloo letting Kit feel the Seaduck stick in Plunder and Lightning Part 1.
Plus, out of all the cuts ever made, and done with the 4 part P&L, that callous cutting of the Home Is Where The Heart Is Scene really ticked me off! That scene was the heart of what it was supposed to be about and was the core of why Kit stood up to protect them, even though he had to make it look like a betrayal and later fight to return, because Rebecca showed she cared and he saw the love of and potential of a family with them. That was truly heartless of the execs to cut that scene!
This was among the saddest moments in the series, and it was in the opening episode...it seems more sad than romantic to me, but it's all thanks to the scene at the end of Plunder & Lightning Pt. 3
Mitchell: (Goes into his room and closes his door) Oh dear… (sobs) I can’t believe my twentieth birthday is when the new baby gets here. I’m so jealous I can’t help my family because it’s a surprise birthday party, for me. Not to mention, my birthday’s in 3 more days. I feel like on the day before my birthday, I should send a message to the Higher For Hire center first thing tomorrow morning. (sigh) Well, I might as well take a nap to get my sadness out. Ugh… (faints) :(
i would think whether there was or was not a romantic crush shared between Baloo & Becky is debatable; i didn't sense it as a kid lol but watching it years after i kind of see it, but again it's up to debate!
Sadly, the big wig executives in charge at the time actually blocked many of the concepts that Jymn Magon wanted to bring to TaleSpin, then with Roy Disney passing on a while back they seemed to feel nobody would care about this type of quality animation or heart in the storyline anymore. Much like the refusal to this day to release the uncut version of P&L and the last episodes of the series.(Glad I've got 'em all) This series was/will remain dear to my heart due to my background / past.
Uncut version of P&L? What parts were uncut?? On german Disney+, 2 episodes are missing: the one about China and the one with the bomb (which has been missing on many places...).
That's the moment after Baloo and Rebecca return back to Higher for Hire after Kit has gone back to be with Don Karnage, betraying them all, and Baloo bails on everyone as well, due to being so upset with the entire situation.
