On the plus side, still an interesting film. What people go through to do that event, is amazing. To have to shelter for your life in a tiny cabin for days on end, we can't imagine how tough that must be. Hats off to all the participants.

+D hull: I'm think'n that anybody who is not ready to accept that he might die in such an adventure really has no business out there.

Horace Hogsnort I’m sure people go out there accepting they could potentially die, yeah of course but when you’re out there feeling like that is truly it for you obviously it’ll be scary and upsetting even if you have accepted it was a possibility

Disappointed that only the male teams were featured. In this day and age, surely women should be featured too, after all, there were women in the race.

Row 2 recovery couldn't understand why they weren't keeping pace with the polo boys... their oars weren't in the water half the time. That was an unbelievable challenge even to start let alone for those able to finish! congrats all..

Row row row your boat gently down the stream merrily merrily merrily merrily what the hell was I thinking

to bad you could not incorporate the oar locks to pump water through filter as you row , I think its a million dollar idea , you would not have to rely on a battery and you would be killing 2 birds with one stone

27:30 I wonder if you could connect the water maker pump handle the oars, so as you row, it makes fresh water...

Probably could. Though it would add some weight to the pull.

I have to agree with so many others here.... WHY are don't these folks have a better tether system to keep them in the boat? WHY is it these folks don't keep their vessel water tight whether above board or below deck? I am personally surprised the two systems you need, the electronics and the water maker, were no in water tight compartments with easy access to make any repairs needed. I was also surprised to hear sailors state they did not understand how all their systems worked and were unable to even try and repair a problem.....

Also, it was hard to enjoy the video with them always making every move sound tragic.

Do these have some kind of auto bearing rudder or are they hand steered on the rudder or just with the oars?

i do not see any wind vane steering system or drogue system on these, so it makes me think they are steering as I've hear of a team that rowed for 4 hours with only their left oars but honestly that seems nuts to me. They would have to constantly be on the electronics to see if they were on heading i guess, or they get set on magnetic heading and they just stay on that for 4 hours or so and check the electronics every shift change? Idk but that seems probable to me.

They’re not even allowed to string up their pants to dry as it’s classed as a sail.

+Walter Strong Funny how RU-vid is so big and yet in 2 days I've come across your condescending comments (Ben Fogle). You are one negative person! I bet you wouldn't do an inch of what these guys were able to do.
