日本のクラフト文化に興味を持つ、ノルウェイジャンレインのデザイナー Tマイケル氏が、
京都ACE HOTELにテーブルなどが置かれたことでも話題になった木工作家 高山英樹氏の益子のアトリエに訪問し、お互いのヒストリー、フィロソフィーを語りました。

ノルウェーのベルゲンを拠点に活動するガーナ生まれのノルウェー人アーティスト。
彼の同名のレーベルT-Michaelのファウンダー、Norwegian Rainのヘッドデザイナー、
共同オーナー、チーフストラテジストでもある。

T-MichaelとY.& Sons とのコラボレーションで生まれたT-Kimonoは、
着物をメンズワードローブの定番としてマーケットに提案。
ファッショニスタを中心に大きな影響を及ぼしている。
2018年の日本のタイムアウトマガジンより最優秀商品賞を受賞。
またT-kimonoは深圳のHe Xiangning美術館で展示され、
最近ではロンドンのビクトリア&アルバート美術館でも展示されている。
また同美術館から発刊された「Fashioning Masculinities」でも紹介されてる。
T- KIMONO(Y. & SONS X T-MICHAEL)
T-Michael He is the founder of his eponymous label T-Michael and head designer, co-owner、 and chief strategist of Norwegian Rain. T-Kimono, a collaboration between T-Michael and Y. & Sons, brings the kimono to the market as a staple of the men's wardrobe.
It has made a huge impact, especially among fashionistas, and won the Best Product Award
from Time Out Magazine in Japan in 2018.
T-kimono has also been exhibited at the He Xiangning Museum in Shenzhen and recently at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
The T-kimono was also featured in "Fashioning Masculinities" published by the museum.
髙山英樹
石川県能登出身、益子町在住。
文化服飾学院を卒業後、都内で舞台衣装や布のオブジェを制作するなど活動。
のちに、北米や中米、アジア、ヨーロッパなどを旅しながら、国内で内装や家具の制作を手がけるように。
2002年に益子へ移住しテーブルや椅子、オブジェなどを制作、建築プロジェクトにも参加。

HIDEKI TAKAYAMA
Hideki Takayama was born in Noto, Ishikawa Prefecture, and currently lives in Mashiko Town.
After graduating from Bunka Fashion College,
he worked in Tokyo creating stage costumes and other art projects made of cloth. In 2002,
he moved to Mashiko, where he has been creating tables, chairs, and objects, as well as participating
in architectural projects.
