I agree that Jerry stands out for his voice and style! The voice is so calm and nice to listen to and the style is really cool. And he handles interview so well
If you're telling people to leave Korea when they complain, it's not always that easy. Some folks have job contracts tied to their visa, so leaving isn't that simple. Also, sometimes calling out issues is necessary for change.
They clearly aren't talking about constructive criticism. constructive criticism no matter how well its received is always valid. They were talking about the massive uptick in content creators that just sensationalize the hell out of everything related to Korea because its the hot new thing. And unfortunately thats just the nature of the internet. People will ride the waves of new trends hoping to gain a following. But putting myself in their shoes i can understand why they are frustrated. If outsiders were constantly dogpiling on my home country and criticizing every little aspect of its culture with very surface level knowledge, id be pretty pissed too.
@@Jragonslayerthey should judge their own channels because as far as I’m concerned this own podcast has thousands of video doing the same thing they’re criticising.
Well, it's a lot easier than coming to Korea in the first place. Anytime you enter a new country or even job in the same country, there's a risk you won't like it, but you have to accept the risk. So, other people need to compensate you if the risk you accepted doesn't go your way? As a foreigner, you can't even vote in a foreign country, that shows it's not your right to suggest changes to them. And why should they change , when you've shown no interest in changing your countries to help them?
I really enjoy Jerry’s interviews. He’s very respectful and handles the conversation with grace despite controversial topics. On a side note Sean’s body language is so bothersome? Maybe it’s the leaning but it looks like he’s putting up a wall with his arm when he talks. Anyway this is my first time knowing about Hankyute and I love her voice. She’s explains her thoughts very well.
Wow David it was really cool hearing your perspective on there being a larger pie. And I didn’t realize one of your goals/inspiration was to gather a stronger community of Korean influencers. I guess it’s pretty obvious but nice to hear it. Very wholesome.
Hi David. As always, I love your topic. I spent a day changing my algorithm so I don't get the negative rants about Korea. Every country has good and bad aspects. I want to visit Korea. I want to travel to the countryside as well as the cities. Love your show.
David take this as a constructive critism please but you should get rid of your self-deprecating mindset. It's not the first time that It caught my attention so I'm commenting this now. You're a good looking guy that doing entertaining shows and people appreciate you, don't let yourself down when you meet with people who you think that has a greater position in life. We're all doing well enough by only staying alive, the rest doesn't matter. It's my personal opinion of course but as a host too you should lead the conversation more confidently, sometimes your guests are more incharge than you. I see you're a shy person which you mentioned before, and I see you're more fun when you're comfortable so I think you'll get better day by day on each ep as a host. And one last advice is you shouldn't stick with script too much, tell or ask about your daily lives or unrelated things here and there more because when you do it I feel like I enjoy listening to your podcast more. I hope It doesn't sound offensive if you feel that way I'll delete immediately
Wonderful podcast and topics as usual :) I think for the sensational negative videos, the smaller creators could also be in a sticky place. Since outrage will get the strongest response, they may feel like the only way to get seen is to create crazy negative content to get views. I think political channels are stuck in the outrage politic echo chamber spiral craziness in for sure. I've also seen creators be pressured by their audience to speak about more negative things they have experienced in korea, and if they aren't as harsh as the audience thinks they should be the get comments telling them they shouldn't be so accepting of that kind of thing etc. Fingers crossed the younger gen will start to ask for more nuanced perspectives and not just wanna hate on korea. Every place is a little bit broken, just in different places and to different degrees. Sorry for the essay 😅
Not only K-pop is big in Europe... The Rose are coming to Finland next month, and tickets are sold out. Same applies to Asian Cinema Week: tickets to K-movies sell very quickly.
I really do hope The Rose become even more popular than they currently are! Their music really makes you "Feel" ❤ Shoutout to Woosung, Dojoon, Hajoon & Jaehyeong 🥀 Check out their latest album- Dual 🎸
Kpop is not big in western Europe lol. Maybe southern Europe poorer EU countries. I live in Scandinavia and know one cares about Kpop here. The only Asian food they like most is Sushi and Thai food.
Thanks for your candor in explaining what it means to be a Korean and its challenges. I’m from the United States and can’t explain (away) my country that has become a “disease of the masses.”
I wish I could give this video more than one thumb up.The whole video was solid. I really liked the advice about the 3 Ps and inventing in companies that benefit people’s lives, or becoming one of those companies that benefit others.
Hey David could you talk about Koreas real struggles when I watch documentaries about the life in Korea and see many people need to have 2 jobs to be able to afford life I ask myself what living in Korea for Koreans is really like and that is nothing like what we see is shown on vlogs and instagram and podcasts
LOVE Jerry's and Han's content. Looking forward to all their future content! On to my thoughts on this episode. As a foreigner looking forward to traveling to South Korea later this year, I am always watching videos and reels on what to expect as a visitor...positive and negative views and perspectives. What to do and what not to do, because I feel i am culturally open and respective. Like what you and Sean stated, most of your followers/viewers are Americans and others outside of South Korea. For you guys to say if you dont like the negativity that is said about South Korea from its own citizens and also foreigners, GTFO. What a way to support your overseas followers and fans who may be coming to visit! I understand that you and Sean are proud Koreans. I'm sure it hurts your pride that people have negative things to say about your home country. Accept the fact that South Korea isn't all rainbows and unicorns. I am grateful that many content creators from South Korea and other parts of the world expose the positivity and negativity of being in South Korea. I hope to experience nothing but positive things when I visit. But won't be disappointed if I do experience the negatives. Being an informed and educated consumer allows me to be mentally and emotionally prepared. I'm sure I will run into closed minded people like you and Sean. But looking forward to meeting people like Jerry and Han. Let's be real. You should do an episode on cyber bullying and South Korea's suicide rate due to the bullying from KNetz.
Please do a focused interview on Jerry (e.g. childhood, country of origin, how he got interested in Korea, what his family, community, etc., think about his career path, who are his strongest supporters, are there Korean men who feel racially threatened by his presence in Korea, how he became a model, does he edit his own videos). Thank you very much for your consideration. ❤ From a K American in Southern California, sending you positive vibes! 🌸
54:50 so true - I think the hate is a combination of age - whether they are young women or men, the fact that Korea attracts most fans due to our visuals / “superficial” reasons which then creates dissatisfaction or hate when the potential / fantasy isn’t or can’t be realized in real life that then leads to shitting on other aspects of culture but also I think some people are just threatened by Korea’s popularity lately and want to also take Korea down as well for personal reasons 1:16:45 ok humble brag but an interesting bit of TMI lol
David, I really enjoyed this podcast video. I have started following these RU-vid channels of these interesting creaters. Thank you for bringing this to me. I look forward to more content from you. Keep up the good work!
Me being an intuitive empath, this was excruciating to watch, i just couldn't help but feel Sean Solo's uncomfortableness of having to sit next to Jerry, you can even tell by his "dismissve body posture" towards Jerry (sort of shutting him out of the table circle), i could also see Jerry also noticed Seans dismissive posture from 5:21 and hence Jerry became also uncomfortable. They way Solo's eyes looked at Jerry from 1:37 is so cringe😬, i honestly felt sad for Jerry. I hope they are both fine with each other❤
Tbh I did also pick up a weird vibe from Sean’s body language but I didn’t want to judge him because you can’t really judge someone off of a RU-vid video. I actually was looking through the comments to see if I was just imagining things or if anyone else might have noticed the “vibe”.
I'm also an intuitive empath (INFJ). Honestly, as a Korean, for a long time I found many of Jerry's videos to be passive-aggressively making Koreans look bad. My other Korean friends felt the same, and it was discouraging to watch his videos after a while. Ofc not all of them are like that, but he was on a run for a while. I'm the type to assess by patterns, reminding myself that consistent actions and repeated patterns are more reliable than my feelings or bias (that dang Ni lol)...and that being said, it happened too often for me to ignore. Even in the comments some Koreans would share an exasperated "this again?", then proceed to say something like "these type of people are in every country" because he would lack context and make it seem like only Koreans are doing whatever bad thing he was interviewing about. It's a speculation, or rather a guess...but maybe Sean felt that way too about some of his content and it made him feel uncomfortable with Jerry.
@@bl00dFairy I am sorry, but I just finished ploughing through Sean's interview with my favorite Russian-speaking youtuber and he was absolutely inappropriate around her. The speed of decreasing distance between his body and her microphone was increasing exponentially, mainly from his side. At first, I had no idea who it was and controlled for my own bias (I am a scientist), and thought it's just some weird camera angle and I should give him the benefit of the doubt. Sure enough, towards the end of an hour-long intervew, if not as early as in the middle of it, he started asking THE MOST DISREPECTFUL question you could ask a Russian or Eastern European Woman and I am not going to repeat the gross question, let's just say it involves the phrase "one night stand." She responded once, he circled back to it yet again, she responded twice and he kept pushing and pushing with this aggressive impropriate in hopes she would give him a the answer he wanted. It was as cringey and uncomfortable as it gets. Very degrading and dehumanizing towards Eastern European women. But sure, you will keep posting this borderline incel propaganda of "Korean mean not being portrayed from an amenable angle" or "passively-aggressively" making them "look bad" but the data shows that Korean men are some of the most popular on the planet 2) the South Korea's soft power is growing stronger than ever 3) hence, some jerks like this guy Sean find it appropriate humiliating the women from less priveleged parts of the world, where returning to their homecountry will result in this Russian youtuber's imprisonment or worse due to her political view - her status alone makes her vulnerable and predators like this exploit that. So please be respectful, grow some emphathy and try to see it from the other people's perspective. Thank you.
27:48 I can totally see this (myself) doing this - ignoring hard and being annoyed with trying to be interviewed and be on camera 😬 - poor David and Jerry, probably being approached by women is a lot less threatening 😅
I was interviewed decades ago in college by a Korean TV network but that was a group of people asking about Korean organizations on campus with a TV camera 😂 - a cousin saw the broadcast and recognized me 😂
The panel is interesting lol….. b/c their content revolves around… dating and/or foreigner exp… in Korea and if you couple those two together… unfortunately usually isn’t the greatest exp. You can’t be that tired of it, if you’re contributing thru the streets interviews or catering to certain viewers. I know you guys are still growing, I look forward to more diversified content.
From a psychological point of view it's actually quite easy to explain why content with a negative title gains a lot of attention: 1. Living beings are curious. When someone shares something with that kind of clickbaity thumbnail, most people's interest gets triggered - they want the details. They want to know if it's relatable. [That's why i usually avoid these like the plaque, i've got my own share of problems to take care of] 2. Others may get triggered to "defend" the content's subject. Like some toxic fandoms (or "cult followers") do, disregarding any justification. 3. It feeds the darker side of the consciousness to see other people struggle or experience bad things. While explaining certain issues and meeting them with constructive feedback is not only helpful but *necessary*, simply shitting on things like an attention whore is not. There's no other purpose behind it. And as such it should have no ground on the internet. Yet it grows, sadly, like a tumour.
Ohh my goodness thanks alot for this topic. I am Indian and there was this video by a Japanese youtuber smh saying she will never go back to korea ever, coz her experiences in korea were that bad, she said she wasn't allowed in a cafe coz she was with her American friend, and she wasn't allowed in a club when she was with her Indian friend. The entire video was absolutely bashing korea, and it had thousands of likes and millions of views, which Naturally in a way made me very uncomfortable. There have been so many videos/interviews of youtubers who bash korea so much for no reason and call it racist against literally everyone, there is some sort of fear mongering being done deliberately. Only when I watched videos of actual Indian ppl in korea who shared their experiences, I was relieved that whatever these guys were saying was untrue. Thank goodness for them.
@55:19 Sean, I am an American and I feel the same way when people bash Americans and talk about how stupid we are, and how much they hate us. Then they can leave and move live wherever they want to, leave us alone.. I am also patriotic with my country. I am not stupid enough to think that we’re 100% perfect. But I am proud to be an American, and I love my country, even with all of its imperfections.
But what do you guys want? Koreans complain about 국뽕 content getting too many views but also about this now? So I guess foreigns can’t complain about Korea but Koreans can complain about people from other places ?
Complaining is fine. Just dont say never go to Korea because the whole country is racist homphobic mysoginistic alcoholic egotistic plastic after one bad tinder date in hongdae lol
@@koreanpizzaclub but is it okay for clubs in Gangnum to discriminate against foreigners? If a Korean was told not to enter a club in the U.S for simply being a Korean that would be insane. There is also a kpop show( won't name out of respect for your show).that tried to pull a race discrimination thing here in the U.S. The organization posted on their Instagram that only white and Koreans were allowed to apply as helpers. They had to pull that down and apologize after fans of all races reminded them that it was illegal in the U.S to discriminate against people based on skin color. What are your thoughts on that? If these are so openly done, are the people wrong to share their experiences?
@@ILIVEAGOODLIFEIt's totally okay to speak up about such things and must be condemned and prevented, but the generalisation is the problem. There are plenty of Normal, good Koreans compared to the racist ones, so it's a shame to brand all of them too as 'racists', thus ironically being racist yourself.
@@ILIVEAGOODLIFEA lot of foreigners are barred from entering because they cause problems and act pretentious and aggressive. American military is notorious for SAing women in Korea, they are less than 1% of the population yet commit 33% of all violent SA crimes against women.
BTS made a huge impact to Korea. Korea wasn’t know globally until BTS popularity. Tourism wise; the country Korea would not known because of BTS. BTS started it all. Even past KPop never done so much to Korea . Non K-pop past and now K-pop done to Korea when BTS popularity. BTS introduced Korea culture globally.
So true. There are particular youtube channels whose only purpose is to talk shit about South Korea. In my opinion there obsession with Korea is disturbing If I could shut them down, I would.

@1:05:50, why don't you guys make an official community? Me for example, i used to have game related content. Had a really supportive comunity, We were very close and helped each other and one day I decided to Make group only with influencers and page admins. I also tried to make a end of year awards in different categories. Due to personal reasons I couldn't go on. But the experience was extraordinary. If for example there was a hacker. We just jump on the group page and all the heads and admins alerted the rest. Same thing when there is a tea or a trend everyone keeps up to date and that creates a really good cooperative and growing environment. You should try! make an official influencers community. Start in kakao. Then get a studio where all influencers can have access and go. Like a studio for the entire group. BTW. Going to the end of year parties. My advise is have everyone prepare a dishof their own. And everyone will have to prepare a different dish. It adds a personal touch to the meeting. So not just eating pizza. You do the pizza!. Let's everyone else bring whatever they want. ❤ best of wishes.
As an American The Korean Charm is a fad. We Americans go through this until we find a new and next best thing. We have gone through this with the Beetles, New Direction and countless others. The greats like Michael Jackson, Prince. Madonna ,Beyonce ,Taylor Swift is where we really live. Humans are visual and we appreciate the good looking Idols and the handsome men in Kdrama's but this alone will not keep the American interest for very long. Whats real is BTS who has won the hearts and imagination of Americans not because their ethnicity but hard work and pure talent. I've also notice that many successful relationship with Americans in Korea have or plan to moved to the US. Today, Americans are leaving and less are going. I've been there and my opinion is Korea is a nice place to visit but not the most desirable place to live unless your Korean.
I think Seansolo is raw and really cut through the BS and said it like it is which is really cool I'm definitely going to check out his channel, he's a realist 👊
Omg I was going to comment the same thing. Thank you for being real and saying this. I wrote under another comment on this thread that I became really uncomfortable with his content after consistently seeing passive aggressive rips on Korea in many of his videos.
David, ask Jerry when you see him, if he is related to Michael Jackson. Before Michael Jackson did all the face surgeries to change his looks... Jerry looks so much like him. I couldn't keep my eyes off of him. I watched all of his facial movements and was mesmerized.
I really Wish the second guy on the right would Sit properly and Not Blocking the last when he talks.... Its very Distracting to be honest with you...Why do that? GRACE pulled someone's hair on the Talk Show in UK sitting like that and give someone your Back when you talk..so Disrespect Am sorry if someone didnt want to hear this.......
Something about the Sean Solo guy is off. The body language and his nationalistic comments along with other very off vibes... I can't put my finger on it, but I will not be surprised if something comes out surrounding him in the future; I'll leave it at that.
58:12 I really appreciate Songyun's perspective shared here. I believe it's crucial for long-term residents to address the genuine challenges of living in Korea. In my view, substantial changes can only occur when issues become widely acknowledged and discussed among expatriates. For instance, issues like obtaining jobs in Korea beyond English teaching or factory work are often overlooked. Having spent five years here, I can envision myself staying much longer. Consequently, I've developed a genuine concern for Korea's improvement. This extends not only to my own well-being and that of my Korean wife and family but also to all residents. Therefore, I hope to see more videos and conversations shedding light on the less favorable aspects of this country. The truth is, how Korea is perceived globally holds significant weight, and showcasing its challenges is a step towards positive change.
As a foreigner though, I hope by saying you worry about the progress of the country you don't simply mean to forcefully institute western values in Korean society. Asian countries in general will always be more conservative, most foreigners completely disrespect this aspect of Korea because they think the world revolves around the values of the west when Korea doesn't have 1/10ths of the issues America has due to the breakdown of social conservatism. I chalk it up to a lack of societal virtue, temperance and introspective ethical insight and respect for culture and tradition. What I'm trying to say is... Don't try to corrupt Korea with western degeneracy.
Korea is not your house, marrying a daughter of the house, doesn't make it your house. You can't go into someone else's house rearranging the furniture, changing the wallpaper cuz "this is the right way to do things". Having good intentions does not excuse this kind of behavior. At the end of the day, respect the rule of the house, and know your place. And I say this in the most neutral way possible.
I’ve enjoyed Jerry because of his classy, gentle voice. David, you’re down to earth, intelligent and fair in your discussions. You’re also a great listener. The other two content creators on the show are new to me, but I’m looking forward to watching their videos! I’m loving Korean content. It’s an interest that I accidentally acquired, but find I have such affection for and curiosity about this lovely culture. I loved the behind the scenes vibe of today’s show. Thank you!
Thanks for having these guests! I follow all of them (especially Hankyute). It was so nice to hear their perspectives~ I feel like every episode of KPC is always enjoyable and different. KPC is up there with Dive Studios and Diary of a CEO for me ❤️
I know that in the french content about korea there is a trend of talking very negatively about the country to garner rage views. A famous one in Choi who is actually a french Korean. There is also the trend of comparing Japan to Korea. I feel like overglam content and ragecontent are both bad and can ruin one’s perception of the country if they haven’t visited. I see a ton of content about how Korea is super unsafe. I am so baffled that people from paris are making content like that. It’s a bit extreme.
True! Coming from Paris, I feel much safer living in Korea… People are indifferent and don’t bother you in public places. Of course it is not all just positive (being an immigrant is hard in any country anyway) also I feel it’s admirable that older gens are respected and can spend their days outside, go cafe hopping… this view is heartwarming to me 😊
The content creators not wanting to collab was a comment that needs to be shouted from the rooftop! I couldn't agree with that statement more on why so many creators are able to come in and capitalize off the K-wave without spending as many years following listening to K-pop/K-dramas.
David! This might had been the best episode so far. Great job with the topics and the cast that you gathered. Love the balance between depth and entertainment that the guests brought to the table. It would be great to see more content creators collaborating across different platforms.
57:58 What I’m not understanding with what the Guys are trying to say about the Negative content about Korea is, Is it wrong tho?.. because most times it’s not. & Yeah it would get more views just as same as everything else with positive versus Negative. But just because it’s negative doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be posted because you see a lot of it & tired of seeing it. You should be wondering WHY is there so much negative things THAN POSITIVE being posted an about a certain country. Just like Han said All countries have their Negative side as well as Positive.
After traveling to Korea and making local friends there, I can say that Korea has a lot of improvement to do in terms of social development, my friends there go through so many struggles because of how competitive and cold hearted living there can be. Yes, there is absolute lots of positives but also, just as any country in the world, they have a lot of flaws, just like all of our countries. You fail as a citizen when you tell your own people: stop complaining, traitor, love your country and stop critcizing it. No. If you love your country, you acknowledge the issues and create a discussion on how we can fix them. That shows you care and love your country. As for k-media, just like any media in any country, it shows a curated/unrealistic version of what reality is in that country. Obviously, media, as its suppose to, sells people an idea of what something is, which many people eat and believe (Really scary). I hope Korea improves, its heartbreaking to see so many young people so stressed and unhopeful so young. Regarding people talking negatively about Korea, well you have contents creators here in this table who make views and money exploitating that. So no, you dont get to make money and complaint about hearing what you know will get you views/money. You cant get your cake and eat it too. If you are so bothered about this content, change it. Why do we have to make same interviews about dating koreans as a foreigner time and time again? There is so many other topics you guys can expand on. Korea is more than just dating culture and market, its very rich in history and social issues. Shout out to Asian Boss for focusing on interviews with substantial topics that cover Korea's reality.
Had very bad experience with a SK military maniac(another one with sk f boy)…kept aggressively attacking without caring for the fact that i had ntn to do with govt policies…got really mad(half and wrong knowledge abt other nations) Scratching sk off the list (atleast for now) doubled japan trip, had fun, spent all sk budget on japan 😊❤❤❤ Travellers just want to travel, plz Dont abuse them ❤❤
Four of my favorite content creators all in one room. I especially like Sean Solo he is my absolute favorite though. He keeps it real and positive and raw. He also respects all his followers. Good job everyone.
This is amazing folks! I mean, my Korean-American friend sent me this video and as someone who helps creators with data analysis part of their business, collaboration is KEY. A great example would be how the Korean travel RU-vidr (Panibottle) collaborating with other RU-vidrs pushed him over the 2 mil mark. Not only that, it landed him a commercial with a travel app and invited celebrities to their movement. I believe he also got the chance to be on live tv for their end-of-the-year award ceremony (and speak to the crowd as well). Keep up the collaboration folks. Not only is it the key to a fulfilling life in the long run, but I am certain that you will pull in the celebrities into your channel to push you way beyond the 2 mil mark. I am talking about people like Jay Park, Jessi, Joon Park, and more. And BTS, of course, as David mentioned. Hey y’all, when that happens, remember this comment. “When”, not “if”. 🤘
Great vid! David you should try to bring together 3 Korean Mukbangers. I can see you asking them similar question as in this vid, but get back really different answers.
Thank you for this video! Really interesting, informative and inspiring. Gave me the little boost of confidence to want to share more content (not korean related at the moment). Hopefully I'll get to meet the KPC in person at some point in the future 😊 💜
sexism/racism in korea are definitely real issues - however as you said generalizing all korean men as assholes because of the bad experiences us foreign women have had will not make it any better!
Really loved this discussion, David! Definitely one of the best 👌 And I really liked what Sean mentioned about the "positive influence" of content creators because the real ones really do make their communities a safe and positive space ❤ You're definitely in my top 3 Content Creators, right up there with Dive Studios ✨️
I think ppl need to understand that criticism about your country isnt always personal. Its not necessarily to say the ppl of country is bad. When there are certain events that are reoccurring and negative experiences especially involving ignorance or racism, its not as simple as saying" why are you here, just leave" you can still love a place and its culture, but be saddened by certain things that affect you
Sean’s facial & body language to me is uncomfortable to take. You are publicly speaking and as a public figure you gotta maintain a diplomatic demeanor. I m not going to continue watching you if I bump into you. The foreign guy on the right side is the Best among you, 4. He’s always a pleasure to watch/listen to.
what David mentioned is spot on. Around 2015 People glorfied Korea so much, talking about positive things. So many girls back then simply believed in all of those things, daydreaming to live in Korea but now, as you said, many start complaining about Korea after the society didn't live up to their expectations. probably many people feel the same way and that's why those videos can get lot more viewers. this is a siginificant change we can notice today about Korean contents.
Just started watching the video, but that's what I was going to say. A lot of content I was seeing seemed pretty idealized and kinda nationalistic. I'm a naturally skeptical person so I took it with a grain of salt of course. There's bad faith critiques that get made about Korea, along with every country. But I think it could just be a reaction or over compensation to actually try to talk about topics that are worthy of discussion that haven't been explored. But social media and content creation is really problematic because it seems like a race to the bottom with people doing stupid pranks or any other stupid rage baiting content.
@@SirFingerLickin Idk, there's also a lot more bashing of Korean men than Korean women too that I am noticing. I don't think it's just a reaction to the idealization of Korean society, but that the content creators tend to be of a particular type.
A very small minority will always have unrealistic expectations, reality is the vast majority of women, even ones who like certain aspects of the culture, don't dream about moving to Korea
An east African who is so into kpop right now and fall so much on the cultural side not just music but how people live old and young how these idolized people live positive and negative because we are human sometimes knowing the positive and negative is the best for some one to weigh what they want and the expectations My country Ugandan is mostly known for the bad because of our long ruling president but people who have come to us have also shared the good in it which is now balanced Am more of a RU-vid person i watch the pizza club and Jerry ( pizza club) because your content gives relatable topics then Jerry love how gentle he is with approaching people and him being black so interested in seeing black people thriving every where I love korea for all the good and the bad for now most of my inspiration work related is from Korean content creators or idols
Every country has its good and bad. What I find odd is how much some continue to complain about South Korea and its people but then won't leave or continue to visit every year.
I know several women like that who come from east Europe and Russia They can’t simply leave Korea cuz of visa and financial reasons. They don’t wanna go back to their home countries but donno where they can go outside of Korea once they settle down there
@@okwago There's a difference between don't want to and can't. They don't want to go back, it's not that they can't, just cuz people say they can't, doesn't mean they actually can't
Hi, I listen to and watch your all podcasts, and I love them so so much💕 At first, I started listening to it to learn English, but the contents, all you guys persnality and stories hooked me...❤ I'd love you to talk about Japan and Japanese people someday!! stay healthy and have a good day🍀
Every country has it's good and it's bad attributes! It's not a bad thing to speak of the positive or negative things you've experienced traveling somewhere. The thing is, it's an eye opener to see how different cultures are! The night life in any country is risky and dangerous. In a country like South-Africa, Dagga/cannabis is completely legal and the majority of young people have tried it, or use it regularly! The problem is, when someone feeds you Dagga cookies and you don't know what you're consuming! 😂 I recently spoke to a Dr who consumed it, they just laugh about it all embarrassed about their stupidity! Although there be health benefits from it, it's a very delicate useage you should bring into account. I've heard so many laughable situations where people end up making complete fools of themselves... Being older, I'm so glad I don't need to face these kinds of challenges simply going to a social braai/barbecue! Always watch your drinks! Bad boys and girls live all over the world! Just choose your friends like a proper snob! 😊😊 Just to give stats, the majority of young guys at my daughters work smoke Dagga! They are about 120 students at their company! It's just so common. Make drugs legal and thats what you get!!! My daughter is so disappointed in these dudes. I'm just glad they have a no dating policy at work. I don't need to tell her not to date such dudes! You can hardly expect the guys from church to be different either! It's just so common. Values in society has changed by leaps and bounds.
Thank god for this discussion. Asia has been mystified as this foreign alien and culture for the longest for people to fetishize or crucify and needs saving. Asian Americans know this narrative well. Playing into it gets views but the natives should realize what they're doing to their image especially when how they view people abroad is rose coloured. Japanese content creators lately have been notorious for this. I've been looking into street interviews in Europe, latam and they keep it real and have a lot of pride in their own country and people despite ongoing wars, narco culture and so on. I suspect there's some curation of answers to generate rage bait for Asian content. I'm glad Jerry pointed out that Hollywood has been hyping up American men forever yet there's never been a concerted effort to "shatter the reality". No one else is held to such a high standard or treated as a monolith.
