Mark adored, what a cursed and terrible date ..... A year already ... It's strange to say that despite your voluntary absence, it was good to say that you were still there, somewhere ... And then, it there was this horrible February 25… I could never forget this tear in my heart…. So dear Mark, impossible for me not to think of you today. Your music and sublime voice have been with me every day for so long. I love you for eternity ... Irreplaceable, incomparable, unforgettable…. The BIGGEST, in my heart and in my head, forever, IT'S YOU ...
Lee Harris was absolutely science fiction gorgeous! Not to mention that Lee was the most energetic and exciting drummer that I had ever watched. Lee was what a REAL drummer looks like. A performance all by himself!
Repose en paix, Mark Hollis. Merci pour tous ces bras d'honneur à l'industrie musicale, et pour tous ces morceaux fantastiques. De la pure philosophie...
Lol Mark looks as though he's trying not to laugh. His humour, looks ,talent...sigh wow. Classic video just for his laugh at the situation. C'est la vie.
" Life's what you make it!" That's it. Having fun at a party you don't want to be at. That's pure comedy and I celebrate it everytime I watch this video. Thank Talk Talk for being entertaining that way. And thanks a lot for sharing this video. Today 's Mark's date of passing away. He's a big loss. " Heaven bless You in Your calm " Mark.
O rany! Ale niesamowity filmik🙂 I mój ukochany Mareczek pije coś z pustej butelki🙂 Trochę śmieszne, ale przerażająco smutne, że już nie ma tego cudownego, najpiękniejszego głosu z nami. Straszny żal😥
This will always be the best band ever! Hollis is beyond genius (RIP) and I absolutely love how they don’t take themselves all seriously when they have to lip sync the music. Way too talented to even have to bother with it. I just love them to death.
I'm glad that I had found this video, it's doing a great job of cheering me up after a rough week. RIP Mark Hollis, thank you for your your talent, your personality, and your great sense of humor.
The level of shits Talk Talk didn't give when doing this is the same energy I want to take through 2020. Rest In Peace Mark Hollis, you magnificent bastard.
Never seen this before. They´r so lovely! Love how they r suposed to play, Mark on the piano his back turned to it and Paul "playing" the guitar with his teeth!!! And seeing Lee Harris Standing once in front instead backwards as allways. Wish he would habe been more often visibly present . Such a cool, great Drummer! They look so amused about laughing at the playback situation. So childish 😊 😊 😊
Great band, glad I was young back then to enjoy it. Always remember hearing them for the first time and fell in love with there music. So sad mark is not with us no more. God music was good back in the day.
French TV I presume! Playing the drums on the guitar 🎸! Good one! Ci vu ple! Then he drinks a swig of Beer between singing! It’s like he’s saying this singing is interrupting my drinking. Hilarious!
The drummer seams to be totally out (Too long night !), mostly on the piano ! But they are so real, so "normal" playing themlselve, laughing together, playing with the system, I would say. I imagine a quick shoot a french TV... This si a real punk attitud. The bassist is so good ! I always take a big part in the global style. And all the musician was really really good !
You know I kind of feel sorry for Lee Harris, he actually has to make a good go of pretending to look like he's playing the drums.... *Lee gets up, hams it up on the keyboard*... Dammit Lee... ruining my whole argument here! Haha! Thanks for sharing this video. It is the first one where they're all clearly taking the piss out of this lip-syncing crap they had to endure. So nice to see! RIP Mark Hollis, whose music, antics, snark and humour have a special place in my heart. :)
Amazing how the bassist manages to extract lead guitar sound by playing it with his teeth, and he can even play the bongoes on it. Great track - carpe diem!
Obviously they didn't want to play the stupid usual fake play back, good for them, I understand their point of view, and it's much more fun to watch like that!
Every band that is excellent in performing live doesn't like to use playback for tv studio necessities, so they react ironically. I remember that the keyboard player too of the band Magazine once had his synthesizer upside down in a playback.
Here it tells a lot about how the three of them make fun of the play back, and pretending playing an instrument. They take it with a great sense of humor, it is very funny, kind of a surrealistic video. They were right and in advance on their time, that was lying to the public, I always hated that too. Aaahhh... The French comments, funny but not the finest... I may say so, I am French.
The Beatles already did it, in a promo for 'Ticket to Ride' (1965). John Lennon purposely skipping a "yeah" and adding one where there isn't any. And Syd Barrett of Pink Floyd is said to have appeared in rags on Top of the Pops ('See Emily Play'), and in an American show he purposely kept his mouth shut before his vocals end ('Apples and Oranges'). Only the latter footage, of him, has survived. (1967)
This video is like one of those surreal nightmares where you expect that any minute, you're going to see something REALLY HORRIFYING THAT'LL WAKE YOU UP WITH A START, and you're anxiously looking everywhere, trying to find it before it shocks you!!!!
