Hi Spectern! Thank you very much for talking about our game. I watched through the whole video just now, and I wanted to let you know that we are listening to your feedback. We've already made a lot of changes to how the levels work, and I wanted to talk about a few of the points you brought up. With Cottontown, we have been making quite a few tweaks to how the cotton candy transformation works, and a lot of the level design around it is getting beefed up as well. For Molasses, I can't talk much about what we've been working on, but I will just confirm that the annoying molasses that clings to walls and stuff is long gone. Mines is probably the level we've been most aggressive in changing - Bloodsauce is my favorite World 1 level too, but Mines was no Bloodsauce. We're planning to either massively simplify the donut delivery aspect of Mines or else just remove it entirely, and the minecart sections will not be nearly as punitive. Also, just to be clear, our world/level order changes didn't add any "extra levels", and only increased the total boss count by one. There will be 12 total levels, which is the same as what we had planned before. Lastly, since you mentioned it, I just wanted to clarify that we aren't planning to bring on any more playtesters. Hey, thanks for taking the time to watch it! Since it's been a full year since my original review of the Sugary Spire demo, I wanted to talk about it again and see if I can provide more critiques and criticisms on the levels in the demo. I felt that, in my first video, I didn't talk much about about actual complaints or suggestions, but considering that was my first review in over 2 years, I was still finding my footing. The level changes sound good so far! The brief clips we got in the recent update video look like a lot of fun, so I'm definitely excited to see what you guys are cooking up! Also yeah, I realized in editing that I said "extra levels" even though the level count just remained the same. I was referring to the three levels we hadn't seen yet (Coneboy Casino, Licorice and Souractive), but since the video was unscripted I'm not surprised I made a mistake like that. I'm not surprised you guys aren't gonna be bringing in new playtesters, you guys have got plenty already! I did read the Q&A back when it was posted (I'm still in the discord server even if I don't talk on there :P ), and it was very nice to hear more about how development is going. I really wanted to be a playtester back when my original review was uploaded, but nowadays I'm just willing to sit out and wait for the full release or any surprise demos you spring on us (not that I'm expecting any). And trust me, I get it lol. I wouldn't want to receive any special treatment just for covering your game, that would come off pretty bad for both you and me. Like I said, my job is to give you guys free marketing by making videos about how cool the game is. I wish you and everyone else on the team the absolute best, good luck on the rest of the game! What we gotta remember is that these are meant to be either parallels or opposites. So Coneboy Casino is probably running just fine. Amongst other things
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like the game kind of lacks an "oomph", I mean, killing enemies either by mach running or throwing them doesn't quite feel as good as in Pizza Tower Outside of that and the art style not being of my liking, which is mostly a me problem, the game looks pretty cool
The demo definitely lacks the oomph you speak of, it's missing the hit stun that happens when you bash an enemy in Pizza Tower. It is just a demo, of course, and one based off an early Pizza Tower build, so they're still working on getting the game up to speed with modern Pizza Tower.
Man that was a long sugary ride! I miss playing the demo, but thanks for covering it up (fun fact: if you get a p rank in the leak build, and go to the demo version, it’ll show an unused E Rank which was a placeholder rank)
I honestly really liked Sugarshack Mines, and I feel like if you go along the sidepaths, it flows a lot better (what with them all in some way leading you back to Rosette) Also, it definitely gets easier the more you play it, which makes it more fun to play
Yeah it gets easier the more you play it, but I still think its a hassle to return to Rosette every single time you need a new donut. It reminds me of those early versions of Gnome Forest, where Gustavo cooked a pizza you had to deliver to the gnomes in a wide open level. I'm glad Sugarshack Mines is getting reworked, I think it needs a bit of tuning.
i'm really sad about the fact that the level about aliens in fridge or smth was scrapped because it had such an amazing 3 songs, cool ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) enemy designs and backgrounds and a very interesting vibe in general
Well we already have sucrose snowstorm so I do think that’s the case, they might do the old version of R-r-f where the level would change the longer you spend in it
@@monsterfucker sucrose snowstorm is basically war, but no 30 second refills, and, when you run out of time on the timer, coneball spawns, so no, it is not a war-like level, it is just a level where pizza time/sugar rush starts immediately and it goes up by 1 second each kill
