Within my two years with the Vela 403 I listened to it powered by 12 different amps: I tried the Arcam SA20, the Elac DS-A101, the Vincent SV500, Unison Research Unico Primo (🤩), Audiolab Omnia, 6000A, Arcam Solo Misic MKII, Marantz PM7000N, Sonoro Maestro, NAD C356 BEE, Rotel A14 and the Heed Elixir.

Now the Elac Vela 403.2 got my attention. Thanks for that. I was thinking to use this with the TECHNICS SU-G700M2 and Rega P3 in piano black for Aesthetics. To make it kinda fancy here. I was thinking to put these in the roof/corners. I did found a wall mount called Millenium Multi Monitormount MM1. Does this speaker requeries more distance from wall? Or it works out think? It would be perfect for me. Also, I am curious about this updated version of Vela vs the original 403. I did not find many reviews of 403.2 specificly. Thanks for a good review. I doubt such people exist. Unless they talk about the original 403 which wasn’t called Vela back then. Both statements are simply wrong no matter which positioning, music genre or volume. I’ve tried it all in different rooms. The Carina sounds a bit more neutral. The Vela sounds more lively, more lush overall. Both sound not even close as bright as previous passive Elacs with the Jet tweeter.
Habe im Abverkauf ein paar Vela 403er in Nußbaum für 900 euro ergattert. Schauen super edel aus. Und haben erstaunliches Volumen für einen so zierlichen Regallautsprecher.

Yes I had the Carina too. If you want to you can watch those videos. I love the Vela with the 6000A. The Moon Ace (about 3000-4000€) was recommended to me as well as the NAD C 356BEE (about 300-500€) I will test the Sonoro Maestro next so stay tuned if you like 😎
@@DigitalPhilosophers thank you! i watched all the videos but thought you have way more info now as you have gone through the sa20 and 851a. would you say the vela and carina have similar characteristics? that would mean i can try all the recommended stuff for the vela.

@@MolldD Yes. And it was originally called Vela 403.2. The new one is called Vela 403.2 with the Jet6 tweeter. It’s the way it is. And it makes sense since it is indeed the Vela 403.2 but with the Jet6 tweeter. I have no doubt Elac would have called it Vela 403.3 if they had changed more like they did moving from the Elac BS 403 to the Elac Vela BS 403.2
I am surprised that you prefer the Elac Vela vs the Focal Aria. Mid range and vocal the Aria is more detailed than the Vela. Bass for sure Vela is much better. BTW if you still want to improve soundstage, you should consider isoacoustics Gaia.
I am thinking about the Gaia feet for a long time now, I will look for a good price and get them. In my room the Vela has the same amount of resolution compared to the Aria without ever being on the borderline to being to bright. The Vela manages to stay smooth. The Aria projects everything closer to me/the listener, thats what I like about the Aria. In fact the Vela (in my setup) has more depth information. That impresses me but that might be also dur to the better DAC within the Arcam SA20 compared to the Arcam Solo Music MKII
Or to put it into other words: in my current room and setup the Vela has a more detailed treble and midrange and the Aria has a more forward treble and midrange
@@ferdi9554 unfortunately I can’t say how the A1 matches with the Vela. I replaced it with the Sugden A21SE. Now I am very happy with the Arcam SA20. It’s built in DAC is amazing. So is the class-G sound at low and mid volumes
