EPISODE 3: OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY 101- Nina takes us to visit Sensation Station and Occupational Therapist Randy Fedoruk to learn more about occupational therapy and how it can help and support kids on the spectrum.
I just completed OTA school and have to say that this was a helpful video. Thank you for educating the public on how occupational therapy can benefit children.
Great Teacher and therapy. I know its a lot of work but thank goodness for people like this in the world that are making a difference with Autism children.
PT focuses primarily on physical health whereas OT focuses on a person's ability to carry out activities of daily living, what they need and want to do, but are having difficulty with due to a mental or physical disability, illness, accident etc. OT takes a holistic approach; considering all the aspects which affect occupational performance and health - such as physical, cognitive, psychological, environmental, perceptual, social etc... to enable a person to be as independent as possible. In a paediatric setting, OT assessment and intervention is used to develop, recover, or maintain the meaningful activities and skills needed for day-to-day life to enable growth and function in adult life. :-)
