They are extremely smart. I've always treated dogs good. I am the same way with cats. I actually do love animals so much that I decided to become a vegan.

Mine is running along the green fields for over a year now; we used to have a sausage dog too, I'm sure they still have eachother's back. I'm getting a GSD in a few months time, I love them too.

Yeah! They are all friends on the other side. No fighting. We lost her many years ago. I wish I knew the circumstances, but one of the family's BF was not so forthcoming of how she got away. Still hurts thinking bout it. She was old, her kidneys were bad, and she had a hard time getting up the steps, because of hip problems, but that does not mean anyone had any right to do what they did.

One time mine actually came to me and when he got my attention, he squatted down into a pooping pose, but without actually doing it. That was a very clear way to tell me what he wanted. These animals are incredibly smart.

I need help, my husband just got a German Shepherd female is supposed to be one Year old, but she’s don’t wanna to socialize with no one she just go a way but she’s eating and drinking water, i just don’t know what to do? My doughter want to go after her I rader waith for her to came to me. What can i do? About her missing her family is out of the ¿? Any dog, especially a german shepherd that doesn't want to be around people is very unusual indeed. I wouldn't ignore that. Shepherds are typically extremely social and bond strongly. It's very hard to suggest what to try without knowing how she behaves and her demeanor though. The most common issue is no doubt fearfulness (either natural disposition, poor socialization early in life, or due to previous bad living situation), but if that's the case it should be obvious in the body language. Always low tail or in between legs - slinking around, keeping a distance from everyone, hiding much of the day, physically trying to avoid being touched ect. If that's the case then you typically just need to acclimate them, sitting with them gradually closer over time until they let you touch - and once you can show them love directly they start to open up fast and gain trust (treats can help speed up the process, but don't overrely on that to build trust). Start with one person, then when that person is trusted it's easy to use that to transfer trust to the other family members. But if it's not fearfulness and avoidance but she seems lethargic and just never engages with you or comes to you naturally (but doesn't pull away either or display fear signs) then I would definitely recommend a vet check. Animals can be hard to see are sick or in pain, but lethargy and just wanting to be left alone tends to be the first obvious sign. When they stop eating, that's another big one, but that only happens once things get really bad (imagine how sick you'd have to be to stop eating). I don't doubt dogs can miss people (or other animals), but I wouldn't overemphasize that as an option. Dogs tend to live in the moment, and it would be very unusual for a dog that feels safe, comfortable and loved where she is to be long-term depressed. At least I haven't experienced anything quite like that. Disclaimer: I'm not a dog-expert, just an empathic animal lover. Ours would do the whine & dance. If we didn't get it, then it was going up to one of us, booping us with their nose, and running to the back door. My sister's learned to open the back screen door herself. 😂
